Chapter 381: Ch.380 Circe the Witch

Once again stepping out from the door, they found themselves in Gotham.

Su Ming was familiar with the flower market here—although he'd previously searched for flowers on Earth -11, and things were a bit different, the overall city layout still had some similarities.

Only Bobo seemed hesitant, turning back three times as they walked out of the alley, looking like he was worried about his bar.

They grabbed a few suspicious people who were wandering around in the middle of the night—members of Black Mask's gang—and after figuring out the location of a flower shop, they hung them up at the police station.

Then Su Ming found the flower shop, broke in, and took what they needed without much hassle.

After eating these onion-like plants, they were temporarily immune to Circe's polymorph magic. With this major threat neutralized, Su Ming could easily handle her.

"Circe from the Prime Earth should live on the island of Aeaea in the Mediterranean, right?" Su Ming asked Diana.

The Amazonian warrior kept touching her forehead, as if she felt something squirming inside her mind.

She snapped out of it when she heard his question, shaking her head clear. "Yes, Aeaea. It's not devoid of life, but it's certainly dangerous."

"What's wrong with you? The brand?" Bobo noticed her pale complexion.

"No, it's nothing. We should hurry," Diana smiled, denying any issues. This was just a minor inconvenience—nothing for an Amazonian warrior.

Su Ming looked her over—neither the Cloak nor Stranglehold detected anything unusual about her.

Having taken Hera's favor, Deathstroke couldn't afford to tarnish his reputation. As long as Diana remained within his line of sight, he could guarantee her safety.

"Arabella."

The sorceress understood what Deathstroke meant. She seemed a bit tipsy—tonight she'd already finished her fourth bottle of whiskey and was feeling drowsy.

Once they used the Hell portal to teleport, they saw Circe fully armed, standing at the entrance of her cave, glaring coldly at them.

She warmly pulled Diana along and smiled at Su Ming and Bobo, signaling for them to follow her.

Su Ming and the chimpanzee exchanged glances—was the rumor incorrect? Did Circe not actually hate men?

Well, since she wanted to talk at her home, the seaside wasn't the best place for a conversation with the constant sound of waves. Entering her cave seemed fine.

After all, they'd eaten the moly—there was nothing to worry about.

She lived in a spacious cave in the center of the island, which was full of her collections, much like the Batcave.

As a sorceress, though, her interests were different from Batman's. Aside from magical artifacts and a vast library, she also had many musical instruments.

Harps, pianos, flutes, and even a shiny gramophone were among her possessions.

The cave was illuminated by clusters of beautiful crystals, each one as tall as a person. Their light provided the illumination, making everything appear dreamlike.

Of course, modern appliances were also in abundance. She had them sit at the table and wait while she took out various dishes from the fridge and put them in the microwave to heat.

The meal was lavish—roast chicken, suckling pig, seafood salad, and more.

She also brought out red wine, pouring a glass for everyone.

"Circe... I've read every version of The Odyssey. This wine..." Bobo raised an eyebrow, swirling the glass, unsure whether to drink or not.

In the books, those who drank Circe's wine were cursed. Best case, they'd be turned into livestock—worst case, they'd dissolve into black foam.

"Relax, Bobo. This wine is from California—I haven't even touched it." Circe served a plate of ham, laid atop a bed of fresh lettuce.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Circe," Diana said, sipping the red wine politely, eating a bit of the salad to show goodwill. "But now isn't the time for feasting."

"But they seem pretty relaxed," Circe pointed at Arabella and Su Ming, who were drinking and toasting each other. They were eating and laughing without a care in the world, exchanging lewd jokes about angels. Their cheerful atmosphere filled the air.

Diana sighed, momentarily unsure of what to say.
