Chapter 124 - Bump into a beautiful girl

Lu Shaoting was still sulking unhappily when Lu Aotian's phone rang. From the smile on Lu Aotian's face, he did not need anyone to tell him who the caller was.

"Baby," Lu Aotian was in an incredibly good mood when he answered, in fact he looked a little embarassed.

Lu Shaoting did not know what his sister-in-law had said to him but his expression suddenly changed. He kept quiet for a while then hang up.

"Brother, what's wrong? Is sister-in-law okay?" Lu Shaoting asked carefully. Did something happen to her? His brother was looking scarier than a devil!

"Call her using your phone, tell her I'm not feeling well." Lu Aotian coldly commanded.

"Huh? Why?" Although he looked scary, he was definitely looking alright. Why was he asking him to lie to his sister-in-law?

"Do it." he spat out.

Lu Shaoting said no more and hurriedly took his own phone and dialled Wan Jia's contact.

"Sis...sister-in-law, what did you just say to my brother?"

The other party seemed to have suspected something was not right. She asked anxiously as soon as the call connected. "Shaoting, are you in the company?"

She probably did not even hear what Lu Shaoting asked her. Her voice sounded like she had just recieved bad news from the king of hell.

"I'm in my brother's office." he answered. Before he asked her what was going on, Lu Aotian glared at him. He swallowed his raging questions down and passed the message that his brother was feeling unwell.

He vaguely heard Wan Jia anxiously ask the driver to turn around and head to Lu Enterprise.

"Now, dear brother, could you be so kind as to let your beloved little brother know what under the sun is going on? Please and thank you."

Lu Aotian looked at him briefly and said one statement. "If she does not come here, she might go to the He family home right now."

"What?!" If Lu Shaoting was taking coffee or water, he would have sprayed it all over Lu Aotian's handsome face.

Why was Wan Jia suddenly going to that place?

"Wait wait, am I missing something?" he curiously asked. There was no way in the world that Wan Jia would want to go to that place unless she was triggered by something.

Lu Aotian played a video on his laptop and passed it to him.

It was the video he had obtained from Tyler's security footage the night before. For advanced security purposes, Tyler's security cameras all had inbuilt microphones. Lu Aotian did not even need to lip read to understand the conversation.

Lu Shaoting's eyes grew darker and darker as he watched Yun Jifeng conversing with Wan Jia. "That bastard!" he cursed.

"Now you understand why she must come here?"

Lu Shaoting indeed understood. Yun Jifeng was getting better at playing dirty. If Wan Jia went to the He family, even if it did not involve life and death, that bastard was obviously planting a trick. However, how was his brother so sure that she was not going somewhere else?

"Bro, why don't you just tell her the truth?" Lu Shaoting asked. "Wouldn't it be much better than to always be on the lookout and resort to lying?"

"Did I lie?" Lu Aotian asked coldly.

Lu Shaoting was about to accuse him when he stopped himself. Indeed, his brother did not lie. He was feeling unwell, only that he was emotionally unwell and not physically.

"I want to be sure of everything first." said Lu Aotian.

Before he could explain further, the door was pushed open urgently and the girl flew to Lu Aotian's side. "Honey, are you alright?"

She turned to Lu Shaoting and scolded. "You idiot! Why haven't you called a doctor yet? Can't you see my man is in pain?"

My man...

Lu Aotian smiled while Lu Shaoting felt the world was unfair.

"Relax, I'm okay." Lu Aotian held her hand that was moving around his body checking his temperature and pulse. If her hands kept 'misbehaving' like that, his thoughts would turn impure.

She still sounded worried. "What happened to you? I only said I was rushing to the Western outskirts to settle something. Did that make you feel unwell?"

The Western outskirts...indeed the He family lived in an estate in the Western outskirts of the capital. Now Lu Shaoting understood how his brother was so sure that she had fallen prey to Yun Jifeng's swindling.

"If you went alone, I would miss you too much. My body always knows when I miss you." he took Wan Jia's hand and kissed her soft fingers.

Wan Jia blushed and playfully pushed him away. "Idiot."

Lu Shaoting felt he had had enough. Really, brother? You selfishly eat all the food, have me help you call sister-in-law and now you want to torture my broken single soul?

Lu Aotian looked at his younger brother who knew to find his way out of the office.

The broken Lu Shaoting lamented in his poor soul. Oh, how he wished to bump into a beautiful girl on the corridor!

Apparently, he was imagining himself as the male lead of a soap opera.

If he met his future wife by bumping into her on a corridor, he would skip all that tiring process of coincidentally meeting and chasing each other.

Instead, he would immediately hold her in a very romantic dance-like position and whisper in her ear. "Since we already bumped into each other, why not skip all those boring formalities and just get married?"
