Mr. Jung was pleasantly surprised. He couldn't hide his happiness. "President Lu sure is attentive. I only mentioned this perfume in passing. I didn't know he would really remember it and even gift it to me Hahaha!" inwardly he was thinking, it turned out Lu Enterprises didn't despise him as he initially thought.
He was already an old man in his sixties and when he was informed that Lu Enterprises despised him to the point of using him as a test for interns, he was enraged. It would still be understandable if he was close to Lu Aotian or his father but what they had was at most a nodding acquaitance. But this little intern didn't seem half bad.
"How could he possibly forget? There are only a few people who live up to the nobility of these century old perfumes. If I were him, I wouldn't forget either." Wan Jia praised naturally.
He didn't miss her point. She was praising him for being noble.
Wan Jia's little task was more or less done. "Mr. Jung if there's nothing else; I should not interrupt your work. My sister-in-law and I will head back first."
"I'll see them out." His assistant rushed to say. He was nervous the whole time they were here. If they mentioned the meeting…
Mr. Jung was still basking in happiness. He had a good impression of these two young ladies. "Is Lu Aotian coming for the meeting himself? Since he's not here yet, he will be too late. If he doesn't mind, why don't you young ladies discuss the terms with me on his behalf?"
As expected, his assistant looked uneasy. "Mr. Jing, they were only sent ahead of President Lu to bring greeting gifts. Would they know how to discuss business matters?"
Mr. Jing looked at the two women. "Only one way to find out. Young lady, why don't you try? I will make sure you don't get in trouble with your CEO."
Wan Jia exchanged a knowing look with Su Ling. "Actually, we are here on his behalf, but that's for tomorrow's meeting."
Jung frowned. "Tomorrow? The only appointment Lu Aotian booked is for today. The meeting starts in five minutes." Wan Jia had made their meeting look like it was coincidental timing.
She looked stunned for a moment before apologizing like a well behaved lady. "Pardon us; there must have been miscommunication on our side. I thought the meeting was set for tomorrow in the afternoon."
By taking the blame, she made Jung wonder how it was possible that Lu Aotian passed over wrong information. That was practically impossible. Perhaps the problem was actually on his side?
Pushing that aside, they discussed for a long while. The more he heard Wan Jia and Su Ling analyze the project, the more he was impressed. Wan Jia had taken time the previous night to explain some things to Su Ling. She didn't look in the dark either.
However, there was a slight problem on Jung's side. He had talked to another woman just before Wan Jia came in, the one whose name was Kara Yang. She was here for Country C's Xu Real Estate and was negotiating the same deal. He had told her that he would analyze the circumstances before giving her an answer.
The big problem was, however, that the benefits offered by both Lu Enterprises and Xu Real Estate were practically on the same level. He could only choose one company and he was finding it hard.
"Why don't you make them bid for it? If all the corporations know that they are competing for the project, they will definitely step up their benefits." the assistant suggested when he saw that Mr. Jung was inclined more and more towards collaborating with Lu Enterprises. Considering his attitude, he would either choose Lu Enterprises or Xu Real Estate. Then, wouldn't all the work he had done go to waste?
When Wan Jia heard Mr. Jung's assistant, she gave him a meaningful glance. "Sure."
It was obvious that he was giving his friend's company a final shot.
Wan Jia and Su Ling stood to leave. The assistant walked them out. While at it, he attempted to make them give up. "I heard that President Lu never changes his mind and once he has decided on anything, he can't modify it. Don't you think your bidding price is basically out in the open?"
Wan Jia responded with a harrumph. "I don't know about that. On a side note, there's this legend that kids in my country really love. A man tried to use schemes to sabotage his wife and prevent her from going somewhere very important. When the wife found out, do you know what she did? She pretended to not have realized it but the end is so satisfying..."
The assistant frowned. What kind of crappy legend was that? She was obviously threatening him.
Wan Jia told it as though it was really a legend. "She slashed him to death.... It happens in real life, you know. You should be careful when you mess with people. Especially those that look innocent and harmless." She held a hand over her mouth as though she said something wrong. "What I meant to say is, schemers should be careful when they mess with people…I don't mean you're one, just saying." Her eyes when she said the last statement were terrifying. It was as though she had been possessed by a blood thirsty devil for that short instance.
"You scared him to death." Su Ling giggled when they were out of the building.
Wan Jia's lips curved upwards. "Technically, it's not a blank threat. I'll really make him regret tricking us."
