Chapter 520 - Sis Katy would never lie to me

Wan Jia grew impatient when the girl didn't speak for a long time. She still had to check on her son before going to bed. "What is it that you want?" 

Lu Xian Li played with her fingers. "Nothing. I mean... forget it. You are obviously going to say no to me. It won't be the first time anyway."

She changed her mind when she saw that Wan Jia was leaving. "But I still want to try. Mother, can I go to study overseas?" 

"Forget about me. Even your dad would say no."

"Hm. See?" 

Wan Jia did not feel guilty about it. It was her daughter who always asked for the impossible. How could Lu Aotian let her stay far from home?

The next day, Lu Meili finally recieved news regarding her forged signature. 

"That director had connections with someone from your family. They have been close for quite some time. I have already sent the photos to your phone. This is the woman who forged your signature with the intention of tarnishing your reputation."

"Thanks Neil." Lu Meili thanked him and checked her phone. 

Before she checked the photos, the breaking news flashed before her eyes. 

[The cast of upcoming film 'Master' revealed. The nation's sweet beauty, Lu Meili, is the female lead.] 

As expected, her fans were struck with shock. 

[Lu Meili?]

[That must be a lie! my little angel cannot star in such a film.] 

[I refuse to believe it.]

[Why are Lu Meili's fans so petty? It's just a movie. What's wrong with it?] 

[The comentator above, shut up if you don't understand. Don't you know who the director for this movie is? His reputation is too dirty and the movie itself... I heard it's too shameless to be called a movie. Our Meili cannot star in that.]

Lu Meili smiled bitterly. So whoever it is signed this contract so she would have to film this kind of movie and sully her reputation; and if she couldn't, she would have to pay an exorbitant compensation fee? 

She went ahead to check the photos. 

As soon as her gaze lay on the first photo, she looked like she had been struck by lightning. Why was this back so familiar....

She looked at the second, then the third. 

Her eyes finally widened in shock. Katy Blanc? 

There was no denying it. It was really Katy. She was holding the arm of that director with a terrible reputation. 

The main point was, how could Katy get close to such a disgusting man? 

No, no. The main point was, why would she do this?

Late in the afternoon, she went to the villa opposite. 

Henry Blanc smiled when he saw her. "Look who's here." 

Lu Meili bowed to greet her uncle. "Hello uncle." 

Lin Lihua had just got downstairs. "The nation's beauty finally has time to visit small fries like us." Although she was scolding Lu Meili, her heart was filled with love. 

"Aunty, please don't say that. You're already the biggest shot there is in the entertainment industry. And you're very beautiful. Who would dare to call such a beautiful woman a small fry?" Actually, she was going to say hi to Lin Lihua in HL Entertainment as soon as she landed from Country J but after going home, she forgot all about it. 

Lin Lihua felt happy when Little Jia called her young and beautiful. She had taken such good care of herself that at her age, she still looked like a woman in her thirties. 

"Auntie, is Sis Katy home?" Lu Meili asked politely. 

"She's in her room." 

Lu Meili went upstairs to Katy Blanc's room and knocked on the door. 

"Meili, you are here. Hello." Katy was getting ready to attend a banquet in the evening. There were many gowns on her bed; she was trying to select the best of them. When she saw Lu Meili, she went to hug her. 

Lu Meili looked at her and wondered just why she was putting on an act. "Sis Katy, why did you do this?" She went straight to the point. 

Katy Blanc stopped in her tracks. Why did she do what? "Huh? Meili, what did I do?" 

Lu Meili narrowed her eyes. "You forged my signature and signed that contract for me. You know that if I acted in such a movie, my reputation would go down the drain and if I don't, the compensation fees is extremely expensive. Why would you do this to me?" 

Katy Blanc was entirely shocked. "I don't know what you are talking about. Meili, have you misunderstood something?"  

Lu Meili felt riled up. If she did this, why was she denying it? "You really didn't? If not, what's the implication of this?" She showed Katy the photos she had carried with her. 

Katy Blanc looked at them. "This man... I don't know him." 

Lu Meili laughed sarcastically. "You have been having meals together and you even gave him money, yet you don't know him?" 

Katy's silence annoyed her. Why exactly was she acting? 

She put a hand on her forehead with a defeated expression. "Actually, I'm not here to start a feud with you. We are cousins after all and I understand that you might have done it to prank me. Can you please get this guy to clarify things? Please. That's all I ask." 

Katy Blanc's expression was even more defeated. "Meili, I really didn't do it. I wouldn't pull such a prank on you. If you want, I'll help you investigate it." 

Lu Meili was more disappointed. If she admitted her fault now, she would find a way to end this matter without having to hold it against her. But Katy... 

Lu Meili turned on her heel and left. 

"Wait, Meili!" 

Lin Lihua was curious when she saw Lu Meili's sad expression and pulled her close to herself. "My dear, what happened?" 

Henry Blanc was curious too.

Lu Meili didn't want to hide things from her aunt. "Aunty, regarding the matter of that disrespectful movie, my signature was forged. My current investigation led it to Sis Katy. However, Sis Katy denied it. I'm no longer sure about it."
