Chapter 519 - The hateful younger sister who ruins her sister's life

Although his daughters loved each other, they had never truly got along. They would bicker all day and make one wonder what exactly they thought of each other.

If either of them got in trouble, however, their love for each other would be evident. They were actually ready to give up their lives for one another but on the surface, they were like a cat and mouse.

Lu Meili was furious. "Lu Xian Li, you better stay out of this. What does a teenager know about love?

And why must you stick your nose where it doesn't belong? If this was a novel, you would be the hateful younger sister who ruins her elder sister's life."

"Daddy, I'm only trying to help her out, but she's  scolding me. How can she say such things?" Lu Xian Li bit her lip, feeling extremely wronged.  

"Perhaps you mean well, but that doesn't give you the right to meddle in her affairs. Keep your mouth shut." Lu Aotian ignored her after saying this. Of the two, Lu Xian Li was younger and more stubborn. 

Lu Meili smiled when he took her side. "Thanks daddy. I'll go upstairs now." 

Lu Xian Li humphed. Of course there was no blind date that would be successful for her elder sister. She would always love Xu Tang. 

Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to sit back and watch them fight out their love story.

Later, Wan Jia knocked on Lu Meili's door. 

"Mommy, is something the matter?" Lu Meili didn't want to see anyone at the moment. 

"I brought you a glass of warm milk. It will help you fall asleep faster." 

Lu Meili took it with both hands. "Thanks mom." 

Wan Jia sat on her bed and pulled her beside her. "Why do you want to go on a blind date?" 

Lu Meili took a sip of the milk. She really wanted someone to talk to about this and her mother was the best option. "Mom, all these years, I had already made up my mind that the only man who can be my husband in this lifetime is Xu Tang. But now, he likes someone else. Why else should I wait? It wouldn't matter who I marry now." 

Wan Jia pulled back a lock of hair out of Lu Meili's face. If she was anyone else, she would have been fooled by her words. But she knew her too well. 

"Are you only saying this because you are angry that he doesn't want to be with you?" 

Lu Meili put the glass at the night stand and threw herself into her mother's embrace. "Mom, I made such a fool out of myself. How will ever be able to face Tangtang again?" 

Her own words kept ringing in her mind. 

"That's right. Xu Tang, I'm in love with you. I have... I have loved you for many years." 

"Yes. And we would make the best couple on earth. We understand each other the most."

"Are you scared we would break up if we became a couple? You don't have to worry about that. As long as we love each other..." 

She had actually said such words to a man...

And she had still been rejected.

"Mom, I'm so embarassed." 

Wan Jia patted her back. "At least he didn't make fun of you. Can I be honest?"

"I thought what you felt for Xu Tang was just childhood affection. I didn't expect you to truly fall in love with him." 

"Actually Little Li, you were too young when you fell in love. For someone who has suffered from post traumatic depression as severe as Xu Tang's, he is not going to fall in love as fast as you did. You should be patient with him." 

Lu Meili didn't think so. "If that was the case, he shouldn't have fallen in love with Annie Lan either." 

Wan Jia could only keep tousling her hair to comfort her. "If that is what's happening, then you really should not be hung up on him. Sorry honey." 

"I know mom." 

"Go to sleep early, mmh?" 

Lu Meili left her mother's embrace and found a comfortable position to sleep. Wan Jia covered her and kissed her forehead before leaving her room. 

Right outside, Lu Xian Li was leaning against the wall. 

Wan Jia squinted her eyes quizzically. "What are you doing here? Listening in on your sister's conversations?" 

The young woman shook her head. "Please mother, the soundproofing of this house wouldn't let me hear a thing even if I wanted to. I was waiting for you." 

"What do you need me for?" 

Lu Xian Li took her hand. "I'll show you something." 

Wan Jia followed her to her room. After locking the door from the inside, Lu Xian Li took out a folder from her bookshelf. "Mother, take a look at this." 

Wan Jia opened it and was astonished. "Lili, you're a designer?" 

The girl took a lock of her hair shyly. "Not exactly. Someone gave this to me." 

She closed the folder in Wan Jia's hands. "That doesn't matter, right? They are quite in line with MAX's quality. That's why I'm giving it to you." 

Wan Jia pushed it back to her. "Lili, give this back to whoever gave it to you. I don't need the help of outsiders." 

"That's not what I meant mother. It's not you who needs their help. It's this designer who needs yours." 

Wan Jia stood up and gave her a stern look. "Let them come and look for me. Next time, focus on your studies and don't involve yourself in matters that are too much for you to handle. It may just affect your studies." 

Lu Xian Li looked down. "Understood mother.

But..." 

"What else?" 

"Mother, you have always said no to me. Can you say yes to me this once?" 

"What absurd thing do you want this time?" Wan Jia asked. If she wanted something unreasonable, of course she was going to say no.
