The trio continued their adventures, hunting more giant bears and facing the dangers together.
As the days passed, the number of giant bears they supplied to the warehouse kept increasing and the beasts' cores were also stacked in Yue Yan's inventory.
This time period helped the girls to become closer to Yue Yan as the boy was supporting the Shangguan Sisters without showing any bad intentions.
Ling'er noticed every morning her legs were somehow over his body but he didn't make fun of the crimson-haired beauty anymore and let the girl have her way.
On the twelfth day after coming to the village, they decided to stop with their mission as the deadline was coming up.
"We should sell our beasts' cores in the city and buy some more ration for the village. We can use your mount to travel to the city in a few hours." Ling'er told her plan to the boy and her beloved sister as she was planning to make a trip to the city to acquire ration using their accumulated wealth of beasts' cores.
"We already hunted enough beasts that will help eleven families not to worry about the food for three months. Why do you wanna overtire yourself?" The boy asked as he knew this was unnecessary.
"Yue Yan, I understand that this mission might be just a well-thought strategy by the academy to shape us for society. But even if you think from that perspective, the academy may only give the villagers enough money and food for three months or probably for one year.
However, that won't change their condition because they are still poor people who would be working hard in their fields to have enough meals for two times. Their life will come back to normal after a year or two. Since we are already doing this mission, we should give us all so they can remember our team for a long time."
The crimson-haired beauty's voice was filled with heavy emotions as she spoke to the boy.
With a defeated sigh, Yue Yan agreed and summoned the golden lion as they traveled in the direction of the city.
It was already nighttime but they didn't worry about getting attacked by the wild beasts as their team had Yue Yan's Guardian shield and Bing'er explosive daggers to face them without any fear.
By the time they reached the city, it was eight at night. the city streets were busy with local people as they had come out of their houses to buy necessary things.
Yue Yan and company walked into the bustling city, girls eyes were searching for their target shops as they wanted to sell the beast cores.
The streets were lined with vendors selling their wares, and the scent of exotic spices and sizzling meat filled the air.
The Shangguan sisters made their way through the crowded market, their eyes kept scanning for the best merchant to sell their valuable goods to and the boy casually followed the beauties.
As they approached a large shop adorned with colorful banners, a tall, broad-shouldered man stepped out to greet them.
"Ah, my lovely ladies! I'm Chang Lou What brings you to my humble shop today?" he asked with a warm smile, eyeing them to observe their goods but couldn't find it
"We have beast cores to sell," Ling'er said, her voice firm and business-like.
"Ah, yes. Let me see what you have," Chang Lou said, gesturing for them to put the cores on display.
"is he swindling us?" Ling'er asked in surprise to confirm as she clenched her fist in annoyance.
"Yeah." Yue Yan nodded.
"Please... Don't do that, I will get in trouble." The shopkeeper pleaded to the trio as they were discussing.
His face darkened knowing their identity, especially finding that they were from Tianhai academy.
This city was under Tianhai academy's control, if a complaint about him reached them then he may not able to do business ever in this city.
"Why should we listen to you?" Yue Yan asked, placing his right hand on his jaw, acting to think about the question he asked.
Bing'er was silently standing behind the duo as she saw her sister and Yue Yan talking with the shopkeeper. She was feeling nervous in the bustling city but she didn't get scared like in old times.
"I'll buy all these cores for four hundred gold coins, and won't try to trick anyone ever." He said in a pleading tone, clapping his hand together to make a requesting gesture in front of the trio.
"Absolutely not." Yue Yan's firm voice sounded as he shook his head.
"Yeah, absolutely not, you can't change our mind with money," Ling'er spoke from the side as the girl was eager to bring justice and put this guy out of the city and stop him from swindling any other customer.
"How about a thousand gold coins?" Chang Lou said, hoping they may not agree as he saw the crimson-haired beauty's expression.
"Deal."
Ling'er was going to continue being stubborn and refuse the shopkeeper but Yue Yan's voice came and agree with the man, leaving her dumbfounded.
The crimson-haired beauty and Bing'er turned their gaze in the direction of the boy as if asking why he agreed.
The girls thought he was a very justice-loving guy who won't let the shopkeeper get his way but they couldn't understand he only wanted Chang Lou to pay them more money.
Yuena asked him to not sell it for more than two hundred coins but he was able to make the shopkeeper pay them five times the price of cores.
Yue Yan placed the cores in front of the table, and said, "Hurry before I change my mind."
