Chapter 171: Infiltration

The strange elf's form was both shaking and crying at the same time, it could be seen that he was genuinely pained by the things that were going through with the mother tree right now, his connection to her wellbeing was true as he said, but not all elves were like him.

Most of them were ignoring what he was saying after they understood his intentions, he wanted to pity them against those strong outsiders that took over the mother tree and killed the father tree, it was most likely impossible, elves while snobbish and proud they were also mostly cowards.

The man tried to convince people using his words of genuine concern for their race but it didn't work, it just made them look at him with weird eyes as if he was an alien that they didn't know at all, nor did they want to associate with him.

Yun Jhin watched silently as he kept himself concealed in the crowd, he wanted to see what would happen to this person, how was Yuan Fang going to strike him down? Would he go through the easy way or the hard way in dealing with this pest?

Watching what was unfolding in front of him would help him realize a bit more about the changes that Yuan Fang's personality went through, did he truly become a monster like him or was he a righteous person who was ugly on the inside?

The person with the monkey tail came as Yun Jhin guessed, but he didn't do any of the things that Yun Jhin thought about, he didn't beat him up nor did he act arrogant before saying something in a condescending tone which indicated that he was the boss of the planet.

He just gave out a small bow with a sheepish smile on his face and told him loud enough for everyone to hear:

"I'm sorry you guys think about it that way but you will see in the future that your mother tree will become better, as we are speaking our leader is currently administrating a special serum that would help its natural healing speed and in a few years the tree will wake up again!"

Yun Jhin snorted inside:

"Playing the good samaritan while his brother thieves the house."

In this situation, Yun Jhin was sure that after getting a taste from the core of the father tree Yuan Fang realized how important those are and he wanted to get the complete set, it seems he was going in the roundabout way of 'I'm evil but you don't have to know that'.

In this situation there wasn't much he could do about him, maybe he could try to infiltrate his gang but who knew if he was going to be seen through if he met directly with Yuan Fang? He always found him to be quite unfathomable back then and now his powers should have increased even further.

Yun Jhin ignored the man as he entered into the body of the tree saying that he wanted to see for himself, it was most likely he would either never return from the tree any more or come out as a soulless puppet that could be precisely controlled or in the best situation, he would become his slave with a little bit of free will.

He continued to devour random people in the capital but he didn't make any pattern or anything similar so he wouldn't be found out, he only targeted those far away from other people that either had no immediate relatives or were rather old, Yun Jhin surprisingly found out that even the old people had a lot of life force flowing through their veins.

Could have Yuan Fang planted the core of the feather tree on the planet of the mother tree? This was the only way the current elves could have such a highly boosted vitality, when the duo of trees meet they would certainly boost their creations vitality by quite a lot, this was only the beginning of the golden era for the elves. They would first start with increased vitality before their talents would be boosted and lifespan as well. Yun Jhin calculated that an elf would live for almost 350,000 years at peak cultivation with their current life force, and he felt that this wasn't their peak!

What would Yuan Fang get from doing this? Could he even keep these people under his thumb after he boosts them like this? What was he doing to the mother tree?

Yun Jhin head started to hurt as he had these questions, it was a type of foresight that showed him that meddling in these affairs would end up with him on the wrong side which would let him either die or get fatally injured.

Even his paranoia was hinting to him that it wasn't the time for him to get involved in this shit.

But he also knew that Yuan Fang's hatred for him wasn't small, which also showed that the moment he was found he would surely die. The grievance between them was so high that it couldn't be resolved through any normal means.

"I guess I will continue devouring until I can reconstruct my body, but getting my hands on the nature spirits will be easier said than done..."

Yun Jhin couldn't leave the planet empty-handed, he really needed some natural spirits to recover his body refining at a high speed he didn't have any sense of security if his body was too weak and it could be pierced through easily, also even though he acclimatized to his current body it didn't mean he was feeling good in it, after all, it wasn't molded for his own use his soul didn't nestle itself properly in the mind palace of the body and he could feel it cracking if he exerted too much of his recovering soul powers.

Yun Jhin sighed as he slit the throat of the 600th elf then used a technique to absorb him into his body, the nutrients and healing power were contained into his body then the healing power inserted itself in his soul finally recovering it fully.

He also had stored enough nutrients to create a new body.

His eyes glittered as he left the capital digging through the ground to reach an underground area where he would hide until he could recreate his body, while his new body could relatively handle his cultivation it wasn't really possible to fully unleash it due to the incompatibility.

There was only dark soil around him and the underground area was dimly lit, suddenly green flames started to burn on Yun Jhin's devil body as it dissipated into nothing, his soul appeared in its splendor as the energy that he stored was used to create a new body.

The exoskeleton appeared, half-golden and half-dark then the flesh blood organs skin, and finally the body was created in no more than 20 minutes. As long as Yun Jhin had enough energy he could recreate his body even faster but he had to make sure the body was perfectly made to fit his soul. Unlike the one that he was born in, which had gathered quite a lot of impurities from the ever-continuing evolutions.

This new body was a little bit purer, however, it was very weak and it would need time to be nurtured before he could inhibit it, it also didn't have any features as it was faceless and genderless. Yun Jhin had to insert his soul into it to get its features.

Yun Jhin looked the body up and down before he put his hands together as if he was praying, then out of his hands a continuous high amount of soul energy leaked into the body to create its ki pathways and give it a foundation for the cultivation, he had broken through from the system's limits as his body was destroyed and now he could use the system DNA sequencing power to create a new and more perfect power than before!

Because he had reached the sage realm and his soul wasn't cut off from the mortal plane he had learned a lot of new things about bodies through his soul form usage, all of his former reincarnations ended up with him reaching the spirit realm after getting his body destroyed, after all, no one in his right mind would let the soul of the enemy escape, Yun Jhin was only lucky that some strands escaped that he could use to reincarnate in most of the dangerous situations, or those that killed him didn't have any soul extinguishing techniques.

Now the body he was creating wasn't of a celestial beast nor a demonic one... it was human just like he was in his previous life, he always liked the human body the best, even though it had characteristics from quite a bit of race he absorbed it was ultimately a human body.

He always felt that the human form was the one that handled his soul the best.

A minuscule body of light left Yun Jhin's soul body at a speed that he couldn't glimpse. He felt that his soul was missing something the moment the light left him but he also felt like some invisible shackles on his soul were also released as if the omnipotent one that was looking at him day and day night couldn't look at him as easily as before.
