Chapter 122 122 - We Call It Home



Aether and John Wrynn questioned Ryan Whitemane. Each of them had their different questions and doubts, but in general, they both had the same interest. The blond prodigy was interested in ways to close a portal, as a way to disrupt an attack, while the regional guild officer wanted to understand what had happened in a portal with such a great intensity, and how it had been closed with relative speed.

"Is that all?" Ryan questioned, as he pulled out a cup of coffee. 

John nodded, "How interesting, the portal pulling in all the others. I imagine it was a matter of luck" he said, as he ran his hand through his beard, as if thinking about it.

Ryan's story was coherent enough, and even with John's special look, this whole situation was so unusual and extreme that it would be hard to tell what is true or untrue. Leaving the regional guild officer's office, with every step he took, the story of the red portal returned to him.

The ladies chatting as they walk, the children returning from school. The worried mothers as they walk with their babies, the televisions, cell phones. All around the corner, everyone was commenting on the gigantic red portal that was opened and completed by the guild.

'So they kept this information hidden... That simplifies things a bit' he thought, as he watched a television in a store window. 

<I find it hard for the guild to want to make trouble with you>

'Hmm... Yeah, maybe'

Using the portals ability he had received from Syl, he was back home in seconds, emerging inside his office. "I lost ten dwarf cubes, the rifle and sword stayed with me" he said thoughtfully. 

<How was the confrontation?

'Much more exhausting than I imagined, I spent about ten days facing monsters non-stop'

<Nonstop?

'Yes, the goddesses were sending hordes one after the other'

<Goddesses?

'Yes, the one who manages the abilities of humans was the one who challenged me'

<You found the entity that provides the power for the humans?>

'Yes, that's what I just talked about'

Ryan got up from his chair and walked to the kitchen, opening the door he was taken aback by Lyza "YOU FUCKING STUPID BRAT" she shouted, running towards him.

Grabbing her student and love with all her might, the redhead gave him several kisses on the mouth "How did you get stuck in a portal? Are you okay?"

He reciprocated with affection, and running his hand over her head, he eased her concern "I'm fine now, it's all sorted Lyza" he said, laughing a little at the situation.

The redhead shot him an annoyed and intense look "You shouldn't laugh at something like that" she said, but Ryan just moved closer and gave her a kiss on the lips, breaking whatever irritation she possessed. Lyza's cheeks turned red, but that maiden's heart remained agitated.

"I heard about the information, they were talking about you in the guild. I wasn't called to clear this portal because of classes" she said, she looked sorry.

Ryan put his arms around her waist and with a smile said "Don't worry, in fact, I'd rather see you safe. Many have died at this portal, I would feel uncomfortable seeing you in such a dangerous place." 

This line left the redhead with a funny face, she had inflated cheeks and an annoyed look on her face. But again it took only a kiss to resolve any animosity. "Like I said, it's all settled now" he concluded, before moving closer to place another kiss on her mouth.

"How was the duel?" she questioned, and that left Ryan a little confused. Lyza is a shrewd woman, so it was easy to see the discomfort on his face "You don't have to tell me, if this is something confidential" she said, worried about his reaction.  But he shook his head, before pausing for a moment to look up at the sky that was already getting dark.

"The portal was closed for an hour, but for me it was at least ten days. I didn't fight a single Lyza boss, it was hundreds of creatures much stronger than me, beating and slashing me. And no matter how much it hurt me, I kept regenerating, even though I felt tired. I can't really explain what happened," Ryan's eyes were serious and intense, the kind of look Lyza knew very well.

Then she walked over to him and hugged him again, running her hand over his head as she pulled him down. Placing his head between her boobs, she began stroking Ryan's brown hair. "You have the look of a hunter, I can't imagine what your fight was like. So the only thing I can tell you is welcome home, darling."

In the midst of Lyza's comfortable hug and cuddle, he said "I'm back". The redhead went downstairs to go to the market, and meanwhile the rest of the harem girls arrived at the apartment. When she returned with the groceries, Lyza and Olivia organized to prepare a meal for Ryan.

During that day, no one commented on what had happened at the portal. And after days of hunger fatigue, Ryan finally had his greatest reward, to return to the place he calls home.

When Ryan opened his eyes the next day, Lyza, Syl, Rose and Olivia were lying in his bed, Alice and Sara had already left for their homes. With his eyes still slightly closed, he noticed a strange notification popping up 'That sound, it's new...'

Opening his system, he came across two new windows. One was the blue and white window and the other was the black and red window.

'Unlock supporter?' he thought, confused.

Using his demon form, Ryan disappeared from the bed and reappeared a few feet ahead, sitting on the couch. 'Are you awake yet, Nyx?' he said, looking at the television in front of the couch. The girl emerged with a sleepy face <I should try to sleep more often, this is nice> she said, as she scratched her eyes and floated slowly beside him.

As he moved through the windows, several things caught his attention. The system he had been given by the stream guardian had a similar skill tree with the demon system he was using, plus instead of being based on demon energy, all the skills work on top of mana.

'That's a bit problematic, since I don't have a mana reservoir yet' he said.

<Actually, you do> Nyx replied, narrowing her eyebrows while she looked deeply at Ryan's body.

"I do? But, what do you mean?" he said, widening his eyes, confused. "Nothing wall different in my body, I don't feel anything special" he replied aloud, before remembering that he needed to be quiet so as not to wake his wives. Nyx shook her head denying that, with one of her hands, the white haired girl pulled his hand close. <Look closely at her hand, try to check her mana flow. If you notice it well, it is flowing from the outside to the inside. You are managing to replenish your mana without my help>

Ryan concentrated on this, and then he could see what was happening. When he focused, it was possible to feel the mana flowing through his body in a reverse flow, the feeling was somewhat similar to what he felt when he was being energetically charged by Nyx.

"So... I finally have my own mana" he said, looking at the palm of his hands. Nyx looked a little depressed, with a fake smile on her face and a look of disappointment. 

Looking at the white haired girl, Ryan gave a small smile and pulled her by the horns 'Sometimes you are quite predictable' he said to her, mentally. And with a kiss, she got the answer she needed 'You will never become useless to me, you are my mate, my first wife and my succubus.

Nyx began to cry at this, confused at the feelings she was feeling. "Thank you so much, thank you so much" she repeated, as tears streamed down her eyes, "I was so confused when you were gone" she said, trying to dry her own tears "I was so confused when I didn't have access to your system anymore, when I couldn't help you with this anymore" she said.

And again, Ryan moved closer and gave her a kiss on the lips. "Today, I'm going to introduce you to them," he said, pointing to the door to his room.
