Mom and Dad’s Daily Life (Part 2)
Ji Qingqing was still conscious. She quickly searched for Lu Lixing around with her eyes.
Lu Lixing stepped forward, entered her sight, clasped her hand tightly, and whispered, “Thank you for your hard work.”
After five long hours...
Ji Qingqing’s felt as if her body was washed with water, feeling wet and sticky. She was pale and tired, yet she forced a smile. “Where’s the child?”
“The child has already been sent to the monitoring room. Rest well first, then you’ll see the child when you wake up.”
She finally felt at ease.
The five-hour struggle had tired her out, yet she tried to come out of the delivery room with a strong spirit. When Lu Lixing said this, exhaustion hit her like a tidal wave. She gave up resisting, closed her eyes, and let herself fall asleep.
When she woke up again, the sky was heavy and it was already dark outside.
After a long night’s sleep, Ji Qingqing felt that she was aching softly all over, left with no energy at all.
Turning her head to the side, she saw Lu Lixing by the bed. When he saw that she was awake, he quickly asked, “Are you awake? Do you feel uncomfortable?”Ne/w novel chapters are published at novelhall.com
Unlike the sweaty and sticky feeling she felt before she went to bed, her whole body felt refreshed after waking up. Obviously, she had been carefully cleaned up.
She weakly said, “I’m a little hungry.”
Giving birth to a child directly took away all of her strength.
While Lu Lixing carefully helped her sit up and lean on the headboard, Ji Qingqing furrowed her brow and let out a hiss.
“What’s the matter?”
Ji Qingqing frowned deeply. “I’m fine, my body just hurts a little.”
It might have been due to the telepathic connection between a mother and son, but when she touched the little guy, he tilted his head and moved in an instant, seeking her touch. It looked as if he was about to wake up in the next second. But in the end, he didn’t open his eyes.
A small hand formed into a fist reached out from his swaddling clothes. Ji Qingqing stretched out a finger and the little guy accurately caught her finger quickly.
Don’t underestimate him for being small. Within his small frame hid a very strong grip. Yet, his hands were soft and small, making people reluctant to let go of him.
“Where’s Grandpa?”
Lu Lixing said, “Grandpa is resting next door.”
The old gentleman had a great-grandson for the first time, so he tirelessly looked after the baby. But after holding on for a few hours, his body finally couldn’t stand the toll. So, he went to the room next door to take a break.
“Young master, you haven’t held the child yet, right?”
Ji Qingqing raised his head and looked at him in astonishment, “You haven’t held him yet?”
Lu Lixing was silent.
“Come, come. You’re his dad, give him a hug.”
Ji Qingqing took her fingers out of the little guy’s hand and handed him to Lu Lixing.
Suddenly faced with the little guy, Lu Lixing had a moment of panic. But he hid it well, and gently cradled the child with his awkward arms.
The little guy was held in the palm of his hand, yet he couldn’t even feel the slightest weight in his arms. He carefully looked at the soft face of his child.
For some reason, his heartbeat accelerated inexplicably. A very strange feeling surged in his heart, one that couldn’t be put into words. The stiff look in his eyes gradually became gentle.
He looked at this newborn child tenderly. It was his child, born from his own blood and flesh.
Lu Lixing suddenly laughed.
Thank you.
