Chapter 209: Sudden Temperature Change
Other than the water appearing darker in color, nothing seemed different from the lake water. After checking the changes, she fed the animals and then withdrew her consciousness from
the space.
After her last transaction with Wu Lian, Yao Ran wanted to exchange more antiques, but he said most antiques were frozen underwater, and they had no way to retrieve them.
Since she had already bought most of the antiques in Juncheng City, Yao Ran postponed her plans to upgrade her space. With little to do, she spent her days at home, training with Long Yu, and occasionally went out to gather firewood or send supplies to the military.
One week later, Yao Ran was awakened by a commotion outside. Out of habit, she glanced at the thermometer on the wall and saw that the temperature in her bedroom was minus ten degrees Celsius.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, Yao Ran put on her boots and walked to the window. When she opened the curtains, rays of sunlight streamed into her bedroom.
Yao Ran's sleepiness disappeared as soon as she saw the sunlight. Raising her head, she saw the sun in the sky, and the snow had stopped. However, unlike the others outside, who felt joyful, her face grew gloomy.
She looked down at the survivors who were cheering and basking in the sun in silence. The sudden appearance of the sun filled the entire Ling Yuan apartment complex with laughter and hope.
Yao Ran stood there for a moment until she felt warmer. Looking back at the thermometer, she noticed the temperature was rising faster than in her previous life. In just a few minutes, the temperature rose by five degrees Celsius.
After removing her Arctic clothing, Yao Ran left her bedroom. The thermometer in the living room read minus thirty degrees Celsius, so she quickly returned to her bedroom.
Yao Ran turned off the heaters and stored them in her space. She also folded the thick blankets, put away the electric quilt, and changed the bed into a bamboo cot.
After clearing the room, she checked the thermometer on the living room's wall again and saw that the temperature was now minus twenty degrees Celsius. In just half an hour, it had risen more than twenty degrees.
Yao Ran walked back to the window and looked outside. More and more people were coming out to bask in the sun. Some even washed their clothes and quilts, hanging them to dry on their balconies.
Without wasting time, she took out an oxygen tube for diving and breathed in the oxygen. After her symptoms lessened, Yao Ran checked her temperature again.
Seeing it gradually decrease, she breathed a sigh of relief. After changing into summer
clothes, Yao Ran took the oxygen tube and hurriedly left her apartment.
Knocking on Long Yu's door, she called, "Long Yu, open the door."
After calling several times, Yao Ran knocked on the door of unit 2001 and called for Shi Xuan and the others. Soon, both doors opened.
When Long Yu saw her anxious expression, he quickly asked, "Ran Ran, what's wrong? Are you alright?"
Yao Ran didn't answer him but quickly took his pulse. Twenty seconds later, she released his wrist and asked, "Are you alright? Do you feel nauseous or dizzy?"
Long Yu shook his head. "No, I'm fine. I just feel uncomfortable from the sudden temperature change."
Hearing this, Yao Ran felt a bit more at ease. She then turned to Shi Xuan and asked, "Shi Xuan, what about you? Do you feel nauseous, dizzy, or short of breath?"
Shi Xuan shook his head and replied, "I'm fine, but Qiqi and Hui Hui mentioned feeling dizzy
just now."
Upon hearing this, Yao Ran quickly went to unit 2001. Long Yu and Shi Xuan exchanged glances for a moment and quickly followed her.
When they arrived, they saw Yao Ran hand the oxygen tube to Deng Qiqi, letting her breathe from it briefly before passing it to Huang Zhihui.
Sitting beside Huang Zhihui, Yao Ran checked her pulse and said, "Your symptoms are more severe than Qiqi's, so you need to keep breathing from the oxygen tube until you feel better."
