After he left, Yao Ran stored the small tanker in her space. She needs to drive it back to the villa area tomorrow night. For now, she hid and waited for Wu Lian's arrival.

The space had expanded to three times its previous size, and the villa's third floor now had three additional bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom.

After swapping out the water tanks, Yao Ran wrote a reply, attached it to the water tanks, and quickly hid with Long Yu.

When Wu Lian arrived and found the note, he felt disappointed and said, "Fill up the water tanks. This will be our last trip."

At his words, the soldiers looked surprised.

They had been transporting water from this site to the military camp for nearly a month. Hearing that this might be their final trip disappointed them.

Seeing their expressions, Wu Lian said, "Hurry up and fill the tankers."

Though disappointed, the soldiers were trained to follow orders. As soon as Wu Lian issued the command, they carried it out without hesitation. After emptying the five water tanks, Wu Lian and the soldiers boarded the military truck and returned to the military camp.

After Wu Lian and the soldiers had left, Long Yu and Yao Ran came back to collect the empty water tanks and left in a hurry.

Yao Ran and Long Yu stopped delivering water to the abandoned factory area and stayed home instead. As they endured the extreme heat and continued their training every day, the military worked tirelessly each day to bring water from outside.

Two months after the extreme heat began, the temperature finally stopped rising. It remained at 90 degrees Celsius during the daytime and dropped to 85 degrees Celsius at night, causing nearly all dug wells to dry up.

With more and more wells running dry, many survivors chose to leave the city in search of water sources. Amid their desperate struggle to survive, the military finally announced some

good news.

Two days later, Quan Yuanwei and Sima Yun visited Yao Ran and her friends. Deng Qiqi poured water for the two of them and sat down around the low table beside Huang Zhihui.

"The government and military have announced the establishment of bases around the country. Our Juncheng City now has a military base under the Juncheng Military Army." Sima Yun said as he took a sip of water.
