Chapter 241 | 241 | A Revolting Traitor?

Somewhere within the vast expanse of the Frontier was a lone monolith-like building in an island constantly shrouded by a devastating storm and rough tides. It was tall, piercing through the heavens like the towering structure of rebellion. Clad in pitch-black, it was none other than the Tower of Revolution, the headquarters of the Revolting Tide.

Inside the Tower of Revolution, an administrator of mortality noticed a candle slowly losing its flames, though somewhat flickering with a tint of green. The candle was surrounded by hundreds upon thousands residing within shelves of endless proportions.

Each candle represented a member of the organization. It was their mortality bestowed over a single object to be observed by the administrators. It seemed that one was about to die, which was nothing special. But this one dwelled upon the shelf of importance.

Individuals that was somewhat treasured by the three deities in some way. Most importantly, the tint of green flickering alongside the dimming flames brought about a problematic significance. It was the simple fact that not only were they dying, they were also betraying the Revolting Tide.

"This..." The administrator of mortality narrowed their gaze, unable to understand why a betrayal had occurred amongst individuals within the shelf of importance. Their needs were given no matter how destructive they may seem. It was to assure that they remained satisfied and loyal to the deities of the organization.

Them dying was already rare, but betrayal? They would be too selfish and prideful to even think of betraying the Revolting Tide, who they thought as a part of themselves. As such, the administrator acquired the identity of the individual and found out who she was.

"Viagra, the Priestess of Psycho. She was sent into the new country somewhere inside the dominions of humanity to investigate the identity of the so-called Dragon of Liberation. It seems that she had betrayed us, as a result, the insignia should be disintegrating her body."

The administrator of mortality sighed to themselves as betrayal had been the usual within the ranks of the Revolting Tide. While those within the shelf of importance rarely even thought of betraying the organization, there were some who were loyal to the ideals of the Dragon of Destruction, which obstructed the current ways of the Revolting Tide.

"Betrayal doesn't do well against the authority of the three deities. It seems that she will be erased from existence at this rate. I merely hope those she colluded with wouldn't get too much information about the organization." The administrator muttered, and continued on their paperwork regarding the casualties in battles scattered throughout the Frontier.

However, before they could continue on their paperwork, the dimming candle light suddenly shone with unexpected brilliance. Their eyes squinted, gazing at the candle which glowed in complete green. It meant that the individual had become a complete traitor, fighting against the interest of the Revolting Tide.

"She should have died by now, yet remained radiant. Did the disintegration sigil not work? Such an insignia was meticulously crafted by one of the three deities. It wouldn't be easy for them to be faulty. Perhaps, someone dispelled it from the traitor. But..."

The administrator couldn't believe their second notion regarding what may have occurred. After all, an individual dispelling a spell of a deity was merely impossible. Though, there was on possibility that they simply didn't dare to imagine or even think about.

"If it was her... It might be possible."

"Apologies to have ended your dramatic ending, Viagra." Abraham apologized at the priestess with a smile as even he would have been embarrassed after being save by an enemy when he's prepared to die. Laplace merely chuckled in the background, gaining satisfaction at how the circumstance ended.

"At any rate, you simply can't die, Viagra. You have to pay for your crimes within the City of Dawn. Who do you expect should be paying for the damages you have brought? You practically sunk a long-standing organization, which is the Special Response Division."

Hearing the continued words of Abraham, Viagra merely sighed to herself. Perhaps, this was better than death. She didn't want to die yet, she had dreams she wanted to accomplish. She turned her gaze towards the middle-aged man, resolve blazing deep inside her eyes. Stay tuned for updates on empire

"What price do I have to pay? Do you want me destroy kingdoms? Control other people? Or maybe, become your personal slave? I heard that humans have taken a liking to beastfolk species like myself." The following words of the priestess made Abraham freeze.

On the other hand, Laplace was interested at the ideas being presented to her. Abraham noticing his wife's interest, he immediately rejected the ideas on the spot. "No, we are doing none of that. You will be imprison in the depths of the Citadel, where your magic will be tested by the R&D Department."

"I see... You want me to become your lab rat. The study of my magicraft is dangerous, especially when it isn't material like the usual displays of magic. It would be hard to know whether or not someone is mind-controlled, and I doubt I am the only one with such magic."

Viagra understood the reasoning of the Authority. In his mind, she was a treasure of information that might prove useful later on, especially against magic that affected the mental faculties of individuals. Though, she felt a bit disappointed by it.

"Becoming a personal slave would have been a tad better. I would have gotten some pleasure instead of moping around in the middle of a controlled room." The priestess quietly complained, though it was clearly heard by the two that stood before her.

Laplace merely smirked at her words, gears running inside the mind of the dragoness. Abraham had a bad feeling if he continued to keep his wife around the priestess. She seems to be someone whose mindset was closer to Laplace than anyone else. It would be too dangerous.

"But... I hope you wouldn't forget my previous warnings. I am far from being your most dangerous enemy. After all, I am rarely someone who works in the shadows. The most dangerous ones are people who work in the corners of the dark while also pretending to be your allies."

"Even Lady Laplace herself had fallen to such people." Viagra glanced the dragoness, who merely puffed in response. "My husband is very smart. I'm sure by now, he already has an idea about who the traitor might be." Her words caused herself and the priestess to look at middle-aged man.

"Well, you aren't wrong. I have been observing the country since its creation, and I notice some bits of troubles here and there. Especially when the Dominion of Tier managed to acquire our weapons, specifically sold to our member states."

"I already have some people in mind."

"And it is undoubtedly disappointing."
