Within the headquarters of the Special Response Division, the personnel entrapped by the accursed mind control of the Priestess of Psycho returned to their conscious state. At first, their vision returned, and what followed was the memories of what they had done during their traitorous endeavors against the United World Government.
Several fell down immediately upon their awakening, unable to bear what they had done during the time they had lost their consciousness. Those that remained standing were also not in a good state. Their limbs shook as their hearts pounded. Their fur erected from dread and anxiousness. Their fate following their awakening would be far from desirable.
"H-How? What have I done?" One of the beastfolk personnel knelt down while staring at their claws in complete horror. They have betrayed the United World Government and actively fought against the military that had gone ahead to contain the City of Dawn from the psychic outbreak.
"Fuck!" Another one cursed out loud, thinking of several ways to escaped from their circumstance. They could run away, but there was no doubt that they would become a criminal pursued by the justice department of the World Government. They would officially become a traitor.
"What do I do?" A beastfolk questioned themselves, trying to make sense of the situation. There was nothing that could be done. They simply couldn't reveal themselves to the military and say that they have returned to normal. They might be gunned down if they do such a foolish act.
There was also the simple fact that they have murdered their comrades. Those with traitorous thoughts have executed the human personnel within the division. After all, the human personnel couldn't be controlled and were merely trapped in a frozen state. The ones that were controlled, killed these frozen humans without a tinge of mercy.
The bodies of human personnel laid throughout the Special Response Division. It was practically the nail that had been strapped into the coffins of the organization. After this dreadful disaster, who knows what might happen to the organization as a whole. For something that had its origins before the existence of the United World Government to fall in such a state...
It was simply too unbelievable.
On the other hand, somewhere within the halls of the headquarters, Espada returned with his memories clear of any fogs. He had thoroughly remembered everything and realized what he had done to the organization during the recent months. Most importantly, he had discovered something crucial.
Espada's eyes narrowed as he turned his gaze somewhere. A single person emerged in his mind. It was none other than his brother, the War Minister of Minos, Escudo. Since the moment that the giant Minokin had fallen into a state of delusion brought about by psychic phenomena, his brother had been making strides in asking him to join his side.
"That arrogant bastard! How dare he!" The giant Minokin never thought that his tribe would orchestrate such heretical ideas. He had never been so disappointed, especially when it was his kin that had orchestrated such crimes.
The first tribe that had been liberated by the United Navy had become something akin to a prideful bastard who think they could stand for themselves after acquiring everything that the United World Government could give them.
"We oath have you taken? What have you done since then? Even if we were mind-controlled, the thought of betraying the United World Government must not have emerged out of nowhere. After all, I know all of you better than anyone else. To create another ideal is a fool's endeavor, but nourish another one is facile."
"We are at fault... I will surrender myself, and I expect you to follow my heed." The words of Espada echoed with a grand tone. The anxious personnel of the Special Response Division realized what they had done and how much they had disappointed those they had died before them. They had taken their freedom for granted, thinking that an easy and free right.
But no, it wasn't easy nor free. The right for freedom was something to be fought for no matter how much time had passed. The United World Government stood for the freedom of all sapient races, an ideal that had been embedded to their very souls.
The United World Government was their home. Not their tribes, their species, or their homeland. It was the one that liberated them and gave them their freedom. As such, they will fight for its continued existence within the hellish world that prosecuted the concept of liberation.
With this in mind, many beastfolks followed the former head, laying down their arms and raising their arms high up. Espada stood in front of the doors and slowly kneeled to the ground, presenting himself as a surrendering individual. Many others followed suit, kneeling at the same time.
The propellers continued to reverberate outside as the sound of trucks and armored vehicles pierced through the walls of the headquarters. The march of soldiers echoed as the door in front of them slowly creaked open. The radiant light of the sun punctured through the opening, blinding them with its light.
A woman stood in front of them, a gorgeous beastfolk wearing a black business suit. She was a silver wolf with untainted beauty, the Director of the Atlas Corporation, Mercedes. Her figure was dumbfounding, but it wasn't important. After all, their fates awaited in the hands of the United Military.
Mercedes observed the kneeling and surrendering beastfolk personnel of the Special Response Division. At their front was none other than Espada, the former head of the organization. Her eyes narrowed as she sighed in disappointment. What had happened to the organization was a tragedy.
Previously being a part of the Special Response Division before the creation of the United World Government, her connection with the organization was as deep as it went. So, her disappointment was immeasurable and her day was ruined. After all, this was the division of the Dragon of Liberation.
But now, it had become nothing more but a husk of its former self.
"Look how far you have fallen, Espada. Hermona would be disappointed at you." Mercedes uttered, her words echoing within the halls of the headquarters. A saddened smile emerged on Espada's beastly face as he muttered to himself. "That I already understand."
Shaking her head, the Director turned her attention to the rows of surrendering beastfolks. "You have betrayed the United World Government, and in turn, denounced your loyalty to the Authority himself. But since it was triggered through the psychic spell of control, the World Government will be slightly lenient."
"But nevertheless, what had happened shall be paid by yourselves."
