To the mercenaries that accepted this dark job, it was a simple request. All they had to do was kill the daughter of a noble.

They would lie in wait near a road that led to the capital, and strike when the carriage carrying their target passed by.

There would be guards, but to mercenaries used to killing people they would not pose much of a problem.

It was all going well until the wounded guards suddenly disappeared right before their eyes. When the surprised mercenaries started looking around, they found a woman standing before them.

She was a fine item.

The mercenaries had never seen such a beautiful woman.

They were planning to have fun with the noble girl before killing her as well, but this woman superseded her.

The mercenaries could not believe their luck. They were being generously paid for an easy job, and an incredibly beautiful woman came to them.

They felt as though they had just spent a lifetime worth of luck.

In reality, their luck had run out when the beautiful woman appeared.

“Wait there Theo, and you too girl. I will take care of them.”

Said Helvi before the mercenaries attacked her.

Regardless of how beautiful she was, if she wanted a fight they would not hold back and take her down.

At first they were thinking about not killing her or ruining her pretty face, but soon realized this line of thinking was a mistake.

Two mercenaries thrust their swords at Helvi, only for them to break before reaching her.

“…Ah?”

Said both mercenaries, who could not catch even a glimpse of the moment their swords broke.

Helvi hit the side of the swords and broke them faster than the human eye could register.

She then hit the two mercenaries paralyzed with shock with a knifehand strike to the neck.

“Hmph, perhaps I should have held back more. I accidentally killed them.”

Helvi tried to hold back enough for them to simply faint, but they still died.

“Well, they came here with the intention of killing people, so surely they will not complain about dying.”

Said Helvi as the mood between the mercenaries became more tense.

Something incredible had appeared at the end of what was supposed to be a simple request.

“Surround her and attack her all at once!”

Someone screamed, and Helvi was quickly surrounded.

This time three people attacked from directly in front of her and blind spots,

Still, their attacks failed to reach her, and they also fell before they knew what happened.

“Hm, so this is how much I should hold back when hitting the neck. But it seems I should hit the solar plexus harder.”

Two fainted from chops to the neck, and one writhed on the ground after receiving a punch in the solar plexus.

Helvi stepped on his face, making him faint as well.

“You can all come. Since Theo is watching, I will take you down with my own hands to serve as a lesson for him. You should feel privileged.”

Helvi could end this in a second with one shot of her magic, but chose not to for the sake of Theo, who was watching behind her.

She held back to show him how to move during hand-to-hand combat.

Theo tried his hardest to observe, but Helvi was simply too fast for him to actually see anything.

Some minutes later, a dozen or so mercenaries were laid out on the ground.

The last few attempted to escape, but Helvi destroyed their hearts with magic.

For people looking on it seemed as though they simply dropped dead.

“And that does it. If they held out a little longer I could have taught you a little more Theo.”

“No no, I wouldn’t understand even if you showed me more.”

It was a slaughter, the difference in power was just too big.

All Helvi did was overpower her opponents.

Xena also overpowered her opponents, but unlike Helvi, she did use techniques and strategy.

It was not as though she could not use them, her opponents simply were not strong enough to warrant it.

All Theo could take away from it was that he could trample his opponents without any fancy techniques if he was just strong enough.

“If you want to make your opponents faint, watch out for how much strength you use. You can misjudge it and accidentally kill them.”

“I’m not strong enough to make them faint in the first place…”

Theo tended to the wounded guards as he spoke.

When he was done, the noble girl stood up, although she struggled a little to do so.

“Thank you very much. We would have certainly been killed if you had not arrived when you did.”

She staggered a little, but lowered her head as she thanked them, as did the guards after standing up.

“My name is Inessa Nerasova. Can I ask you to give me yours?”

“Ah, Theo Asper.”

“And I am Helvi Asper.”

Theo let out an embarrassed smile as he heard Helvi.

“Thank you again, mister Theo and miss Helvi.”

“I would not have done anything if Theo was not with me. If you want to thank someone, direct your gratitude towards him.”

“N-no, I didn’t even do anything. Helvi took them down…!”

Inessa giggled as she watched this exchange.

“You two seem very friendly. Are you also headed to the capital?”

“Ah, yes, we are. We’re going sightseeing.”

“Is that so? Then as a thank you, how about you give us the pleasure of accompanying us to the capital?”

“It’s alright! Right Helvi?”

“…Yes.”

“Thank you very much.”

Inessa gave instructions to her guards to return their upturned carriage to its proper position.

Thankfully, it was not too damaged.

(Hm… However…)

Helvi was a little troubled.

Inessa sincerely wanted them to accompany her to the capital as a way to thank them. Helvi was sure of it, since she read her mind.

But that was not all she was after.

After reading her mind, Helvi discovered she was after something else as well.

(Miss Helvi miss Helvi…! A marvelous name for a beautiful person! Ahh what should I do? I have never felt this way before…! I just want her to take me…!)

Inessa had become infatuated with Helvi.
