Chapter 2134 The Dashavatara (Kurma) -Part 2

Avatar Kurma was ecstatic to finally see a breakthrough after an hour of fighting. At the same time, he was a little upset that he needed the help of Avatar Matsya and his army of warrior fishman, his side of the battlefield that showed progress in this stalemate.

But despite the break in the frontlines, the battleships of Ress continued to the end with just the minimum crew on deck. Those who stayed behind were mostly volunteers who had decided their fate before this battle even started. Since the agreement, the remaining crew had decided to honour their sacrifice and do what they could do keep the battle up.

Of course, the crews of these battleships still demanded that if the volunteers are able to survive, they should rendezvous back Lyro Sea Fortress to the best of their abilities. Naturally, they agreed to it readily but many knew that that was a feat harder than the training they had.

The enemy of Celestial Sea Tortoise were easy pickings but not the warrior fishmen that had been deployed. So, instead of wasting their lives for nothing, they had put the warship to full auto while overclocking its functions.

That means regardless of any overheating equipment, the warships were programmed to try their best to shoot as many rounds out from their barrels and ensured that they got the highest amount of kills before the warship was destroyed or when the monsters were able to capsize it.

In the meantime, the remaining volunteers were doing their best to fend off the warrior fishmen with whatever tricks they had in their sleeves. It was to the point where a few of them had decided to dip into forbidden magic- something that Kraft had secretly taught them in the event they knew that death was an inevitability.

Those were undoubtedly the ultimate form of voluntary spirit found in Ress as those few had commanded the remaining volunteers to fall back and provide support as they withdrew. Despite the reluctance, the rest of the volunteers also knew that it would be wasteful to stay when those forbidden magic users were there.

For one, the volunteers who had utilised forbidden magic had no control of their powers since they did not train it to the point of familiarity as the Star Foxes did. So, they might be indiscriminate in their attack pattern. This might prove to be fatal for the volunteers to coexist and they needed to make sure they were out of the way to expend their forbidden magic power to their fullest.

More tentacles and unknown meaty growth covered the warships' metallic wounds and they continued to fire their weapons against the Celestials without care. As much it looked grotesque, it was pretty obvious that they were still effective in slowing down the army.

And to the mage user's surprise, the warships were able to grow and use the Fishmen and War Tortoises as resources to continue to fuel the warships' shots. Ammunition was recreated in thin air with the power of cosmic horrors to the point where Avatar Kurma had decided that it would be stupid to leave these mutated warships alone.

They were still causing a lot of causalities and Kurma had decided that the War Tortoises rushed in to the best of their abilities to tear the warships apart. But the Avatar still underestimated the powers of this forbidden magic.

Even when the War Tortoise managed to close in and bite the shit out of the mutated warships, The cannons were able to be torn out by the tentacles and continued to fire regardless.

In the meantime, multiple pairs of mutated growth of both metal and meat like claws spurted out from the sides of the ship to strangle the War Tortoises' necks. It was a sight to behold but the amount of time bought by these mutated warships gave Lyro Sea Fortress even more time to set up their defences.

The System was opening portals from their automated factories to bring out additional defensive installation modules courtesy to the teenagers and elderlies who were not permitted to fight on the frontlines. As Lyro Sea Fortress was the least developed fortress of all of the towns and cities of Ress, every additional second counts, and the defenders were not messing around.

Even as Jin gave the order to relax prior to the countdown of their ultimatum, Lyro Sea Fortress was the only site where ex Lyro citizens were pushing to the limits to ensure that they had sufficient firepower to fend off sea, land, and air threats. Now that they knew most of the threats were coming from the sea, more cannons and beach obstacles had been placed to deter the enemies.

It was an understatement to say that Lyro Beach was a minefield of death but it nonetheless suited such a title.
