Chapter 2136 The Dashavatara (Kurma) -Part 4

After merging with the various eldritch horror leftovers, The Sea Demon Octopus was able to recreate his serpents to the point where there were guns and cannon barrels popping out of their bodies. Meanwhile, there were a few newly generated 'tentacles' that literally took the shape of the miniguns and cannon barrels.

But unlike the standard guns and cannons, the Sea Demon Octopus shoots out bolts and projectiles which are void magic based and thus still effective against the Greater Fishmen. However, the enemies were not going down as quickly as the refined Anti Celestial compounds that Ayse and the factories had been pumping.

And although this enabled the Sea Demon Octopus to fire at the Greater Warrior Fishmen, the enemies were also more intelligent, All of them were not serious in fighting against the serpents as they noticed that the bulk of magic was stemming from somewhere.

As much as the Sea Demon Octopus liked to hide himself, the Greater Warrior Fishmen knew of such Sea Demons and their likely variants since they were their natural enemies. So, it did not take long for them to locate the Sea Demon Octopus body and proceeded to assault it. The reason why the void eldritch magic was not as useful was also due to the enchantments Krishna had empowered the fishmen.

However, they were solely mistaken to know that the Sea Demon Octopus was the only demon that was lurking within the seas. During the training of the Daemon Mage Corps, the Sea Demon Octopus had established his dominance once again and had also controlled his fellow sea demons to be part of this fight.

The moment they heard that the Sea Demon Octopus was preparing to fight against the Celestials, none of them were appalled by it. In fact, they were raring to have a go against them. And the Sea of Lyro does have an unexpected ally with them as well.

While there were fishmen in the form of top half human, bottom half fish fighting in various parts of the battlefield due to Matsya, having the numbers to reinforce his fellow Avatar's armies they were not exactly the most battle hardened creatures.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

It was only when a brand new EX-F rank Sea Demon, known as the Cutter Swordfish threw a sneak attack by keeping its presence low beneath a rank S Giant Manta Ray that they had the chance against Kurma.

The Cutter Swordfish, with a nose similar to a circular saw, was able to perform a sneak attack, slicing into the Tortoise' carapace. He aimed right at the grooves between the scutes (tortoises's shells), injuring it to the point it was gushing out blood.

Naturally, Avatar Kurma was furious but what else could be done when the damage had already been inflicted? Yet, that opening was the opportunity needed for the Sea Demons to attack. Using the manipulated sea waves as their cover, the Sea Demons took turns to attack the Celestial Tortoise that Kurma had to summon his Celestial Stone Mace to kill the Demons that were harassing him.

He was successful but it was not sufficient. The raging seas above sea level were proving to be an effective cover for the Sea Demons to manipulate their presence and attack Kurma.

It was to the point that the Sea Demons had forced the hands (...probably legs) of Kurma to use stronger, higher tier Celestial based attacks such as an energy beam coming out from the shell and his mouth to blast the Sea Demons hiding in the sea tides.

At the same time, the Sea Demons continued to hide and retreat when necessary because ultimately, it was a game of tag in order to exhaust Kurma as much as the Fishmen were sent to distract the Sea Demon Octopus. But despite all of their efforts, the War Tortoises were moving smoothly towards the Sea Fortress of Lyro.

The only good thing that came out from the battle at Sea of Lyro was that they occupied the Fishmen, leaving the War Tortoises as the targets the Fortress had to take care of. And because of their sizes and above sea level, it was not a problem for the gunners at all.

In fact, it felt more like a day at the shooting range.
