Chapter 35: Darma Dungeon Drama
Ternet was a small country. Being a center of trade and freedom, a symbol of financial growth in the capital Hell City, it attracted a lot of people through its development phase. To meet the housing needs that came along with the mass immigration, urban planning took a slightly unique approach.
As such, all of Ternet was without highways or major roads.
All the space was spent to make the city green and capable enough to meet the housing needs.
How did travel occur then? While there were multiple train lines overhead following the roads, a much simpler way of transportation was built to connect one part of the grand land with another.
Underground tunnels. Instead of making subway lines, they kept those overhead and let the underground tunnels spread all over the country to handle logistic operations. It was possible only in a small yet rich country like Ternet.
The geographical and financial conditions couldn't have been better. It was the gateway to Ternet's long-standing as a financial epicenter, a marvel of mankind, the epitome of human engineering.
And one of the most fucked up gifts to give to the damned Apocalypse bastards.
"If we go in, there's no stepping out."
The group of five sat near the service station before going down the tunnel. The tunnel peeking down had now become a dungeon, and the gas pumps around had all blasted away or leaked out.
One of the many restaurant chains in the service station still had its outdoor tables and chairs intact and without any blood, so we took a seat.
"I can't believe you have so much food," Alice stuffed her mouth, completely ignoring the topic at hand.
Not like her looking at it would matter. And we had more than enough food to last us for years from the bunker, all of it safe and sound in the slime's storage. If I hadn't kidnapped the slime in the beginning, I would have had to buy a storage space and then place it in my tiny inventory to get more storage. n-/0velb1n
"Here, I found this map."
Relafan spread a map of the underground tunnels on the table. The map showed the figures and marks of all the tunnels connecting to the major cities in Darma from a central point dubbed 'The Hub'
Ternet was divided into five provinces, Northern Darma, Southern Darma, Eastern Darma, Western Darma and lastly Central Darma.
The capital, Hell City, was based over at Northern Darma which at the point was the most developed spot of the still poor Darma.
The Hub that began the start of all the Tunnels, and now, by extension, the dungeons, was based over in the North, right below Hell City.
While we couldn't go over to that place yet, the tunnels in Central Darma were still plenty.
What was Scenario 2 for us, had likely become a much later game for the rest. If I assumed the situation was similar back in the Hub, then once we had cleared this, I would probably be open for some fun with Norther Darma and Hell City.
As was normal. My current plan was to keep fucking the Apocalypse over while taking over the entirety of Ternet.
"Well then," I said, slamming a hand on the map.
The Hero pulled out a marker and made circles around different underground tunnels moving over to the closest major cities.
"Let's divide into two groups?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Take the girl and the slime. I'll take the cat."
"Oh? I get to go with the boss? I'd prefer Alice—I said nothing."
Good, this Cat knew when to shut up.
"The plan will remain the same, we take over as many leadership titles as we can while clearing all the places around. Fast."
"Yes sir."
"You got it, mister."
I was getting slightly pissed by Alice calling me mister. I looked at her and scrunched my brows.
"You know we're both much younger than you, right?"
She looked much younger than her age due to a severe lack of nutrients, but it was still obvious that she was older.
It seemed Alice didn't buy it though.
"What do you mean?"
Even if we had spent more time back in the Other World, only three years had passed here.
I shrugged.
"You guys are younger? Mister? Creep?"
"Hey! Why am I a creep?"
I agreed with that assessment, even if the Hero did not.
I nodded once more.
"How much younger?" She asked. "Legal at least?"
"Barely legal."
"I can't believe it..."
I ignored the shocked Alice this time and turned to the slime. He gave me multiple clips, a handgun and a machete along with some healing potions we used the Hero's money to buy.
Healing potions were for losers. Getting injured was for losers. But I was taking the cat along, so I needed it.
"Alright then, you three set off."
"Will you be alright with just that much, kid?"
I glared at Alice and she apologized for calling me a kid.
The Hero nudged her ahead with his elbow and stepped away. "Don't question the sir."
They stepped away and rolled the map which I had already memorized. Their steps started moving toward the tunnel where they would take the path to the east and leave the west to me.
I pulled out the cigarette and the weed and placed it on a paper before setting out.
"Hey! That's mine!" Alice noticed before leaving and came walking back.
"You quit," I said.
"Just a little bit—"
Before she could reach out, I pointed my gun toward her without turning toward her and continued rolling.
Did the trick.
"Well then, sir! See you soon!"
I wordlessly waved at them and picked up by joint. It was time to set off for me too.
