Chapter 44 - Fighting for a piece of meat

Just as Bai Fangzu was about to say something, the two heard loud commotions outside.

"Who are you?! Hey! I'm talking to you! Hey! You can't go in there! You can't!"

BANG!!!

The bedroom door opened forcefully! Seeing the woman in bed, Hongfe sighed in relief.

Ronglou wasn't shocked at all. Knowing Gu Hongfe's personality, he would be looking for her.

Now that Gu Hongfe could see that she was not harmed by the least, he walked closer to the bed without glancing at the man inside the room.

The servant who guarded the room was scared witless. "Young Master... I ... I ..."

Bai Fangzu felt that he was watching a play. He could feel that this man did not mean his words. Somehow, he felt that he had stolen someone else's wife and was caught red-handed.

He returned the gesture and said, "It was a coincidence. Unfortunately, nobody jumps in to save her and so I jumped in. I couldn't just stand there and act like I didn't see anything. It would be against my principles". What he said was true, he did it because he didn't want someone to die on his watch.

"Then it must be fate." Gu Hongfe smiled but somehow felt unreconciled. Just because nobody jumped in to save her? Is he saying that her life wasn't that worthy to be saved? Still, he had to act nice. If it weren't for this man, Yu Ronglou would be at the bottom of the North Lake of Guang Town.

Seeing the two spoke with hidden meanings, Yu Ronglou could only shake her head. Why did she feel that these two are fighting for a piece of meat? and coincidentally, that piece of meat was her?
