The supernova vaporized everything! Han looked around and saw the results of his actions. The watcher looked around with a smile as he thought about something else.
“I still remember when I first destroyed a planet. I have lived for billions of years and I have destroyed billions of planets, but I still could not forget that first planet. It was designated WR-323345. A sentient planet that had close to five billion people living there. It was so easy that I was overjoyed. I wanted to destroy more and more planets just because I could do it. It was like I was a god. Every life I took only added to my joy! You wouldn’t believe the amount of carnage I caused! But after a while, it becomes stale and you feel nothing. You start to wonder what the point of these worthless creatures living is...
“They are so weak so what is even the reason for their existence? I can just destroy everything they worked for with a snap of my finger! So doesn’t that mean I am a god!? Doesn’t that mean I am their god! I am a god! I am their god!”
Han was listening attentively as the watcher spoke. The watcher wasn’t looking at Han. He was looking to the side and frowning as if he was remembering something! Han knew that the watcher was remembering what happened to him in the past! The watcher continued.
“Once you get to this point in your thought process, it’s very common for people to go down one of two paths. Either, ‘These lowly creatures should worship me or I’ll kill them’ or ‘I am a kind person so I should kill them and end their pitiful existence’. There is rarely an alternative. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is a saying from your world, isn’t it? It is the perfect way to describe what happens to me! I felt like a god!”
The watcher stopped here and Han asked him what happened. Did he manage to change his thought process? If someone had as much power as the watcher then it would be very hard to change their thought process. The watcher shook his head and Han knew he wouldn’t explain more! he is just leaving me hanging like this!? You can’t just tell me a story like that and then stop!
“That’s a story for someone else to tell. But that’s not the reason why I told you the story, I don’t care about sympathy or anything like that. I don’t even feel bad about what I did, they were weak and there is nothing wrong with the strong trampling the weak! But your reaction was far better than my own. You felt annoyance and that is better than feeling joy. And feeling any of the two is far better than feeling nothing at all.”
Raphael had always been jealous of the binary king. The binary king was someone that had so much power and Raphael knew that he would never be as strong as the binary king! Raphael refused to be second fiddle to anyone! After the binary king, Raphael was the second strongest among the Celestial leaders and he was always being undermined by the binary king! Even when they were having a meeting or gathering, the binary king would always go against Raphael’s suggestions!
The binary king had this stupid sense of justice! He believed that they shouldn’t destroy the mortals or erase planets. What sort of fucking stupid ideology is that!? Why shouldn’t the strong trample the weak? The binary king had a lot of enemies because a lot of celestials hated his ideology. He was too naive to be a Celestial!
That is why Raphael and the other Celestials agreed so easily when Paladin brought the charges against the binaries and the binaries were hunted. If it was to get rid of the binary king, Raphael would have done anything!
As Raphael entered the workshop he heard the sound of metal being struck with loud clangs! And he figured that Paladin was making something! He quickly made his way towards the inner part of the workshop and he saw Paladin standing in front of a table. He was shirtless and sweating profusely as he hammered something on a table in front of him!
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
Paladin was a scientist but he was also a mechanic and a roboticist! He was capable of both creating and carrying out many different kinds of improvements and upgrades on machines! This is one of the reasons why he was so eager to get the binaries! They were the pinnacle of both robotics and science and he just wanted to study them, but he couldn’t get any of them when the binary king was alive so he framed all of them and dumped a heap load of false accusations on them! It was all for science so he didn’t feel bad about it at all!
Once Raphael entered the room, Paladin spoke.
“Hold on a sec while I finish this. I wouldn’t want you getting your pretty wings dirty,”
Raphael frowned as Paladin made that joke. Raphael hated getting dirty and Paladin knew that it always made him angry when people joked about his wings. Paladin slammed his hammer down again and a large spark flew across the room. Raphael looked at the material Paladin was working on and he immediately recognized it as celestial metal. No wonder Paladin was going through the trouble of hammering it instead of just using his strength to bend it. This metal is too precious to make any mistakes on it!
Celestial metal was the strongest, most dense, and purest metal in the celestial plane. It is the metal that was used to create floors fifty to ninety in the temple and it is the only metal capable of withstanding an attack from a celestial. It is only because they used this metal that the chosen can fight inside the Celestial plane without breaking everything immediately! What was Paladin trying to make with Celestial steel?
