Kidnapee

Zhou Yaoyun’s abnormality seemed just to be an illusion to Ji Chen’ai.

After that night, Zhou Yaoyun returned to his usual gentle and cheerful self and no longer had a cold war with Ji Chen’ai.

Ji Chen’ai life was regular everyday. In the morning, after getting up, he would send a post, after eating lunch in the afternoon, if it wasn’t hot, he would go out alone and pick up garbage. Fearing that his family would be unable to understand him, he did not agree with Wang Zhixiu’s proposal to let Zhou Yaoyun accompany him.

Just like that, he spent half of his summer vacation simply, and then Ji Chen’ai greeted the day when the new semester was about to begin. At this time, his positive energy value was almost 4000.

Although it’s still a little bit far from the first level peak, all the more Ji Chen’ai found that he had a goal to strive for.

They still took a plane when they went back to the house rented near Zhou Yaoyun’s university.

Wang Zhixiu asked Ji Chen’ai privately if he wanted to go with Zhou Yaoyun over there, Ji Chen’ai told her that he wanted to go. When Wang Zhixiu heard that, she agreed to Ji Chen’ai’s wish.

Before the start of the new semester, Zhou Yaoyun cut his hair into a crew cut [1] shape, making him look energetic. They took a taxi home with Ji Chen’ai in Zhou Yaoyun’s hold. After they entered the house and put down all their luggage, the first thing Zhou Yaoyun did was to clean up the house.

[1]

Ji Chen’ai sat on his wheelchair, looking at Zhou Yaoyun who was sparing no effort to sweep and mop the floor, to wipe the table and clean the windows. He asked, “Is there anything I can help you with?”

Listening to his question, Zhou Yaoyun, who was mopping the floor and wearing a face mask, took a glance at Ji Chen’ai and said, “Brother, it’s nothing, you can go out for a stroll. By the way, when you get back, can you buy a bag of salt?”

Ji Chen’ai agreed. He couldn’t help with anything at home, sometimes he even got in the way, it’s better if he could help a bit. At first, Zhou Yaoyun was quite worried about Ji Chen’ai going out alone. But after several times, he wasn’t as worried as he was in the beginning. The public security around their residence was good, and there was almost no crime.

Ji Chen’ai took his wallet and went out alone.

The city where Zhou Yaoyun’s university was located was in the South where in the past few days, it just rained here and the weather wasn’t that hot.

Ji Chen’ai wasn’t in a hurry as he thought it was quite early. He wheeled out slowly and began to pick up garbage along the familiar road.

Xiao Qi was already used to his behaviour, it just pretended that it did not exist itself.

It was more than 3 P.M when Ji Chen’ai came out. After picking up the garbage for an hour and a half, he arrived at the park near his home.

Because it was still work hours and school had opened, there were no pedestrians near the park. Ji Chen’ai slowly rolled his wheelchair, thinking about buying salt, when he heard Xiao Qi screeching, “Discovering critical negative energy, discovering critical negative energy!”

Ji Chen’ai was stunned and immediately looked around. He didn’t find any suspicious person, but soon he noticed one white van coming towards him from the road.

If Ji Chen’ai had been an ordinary person, he would have run towards a place full with people, but now his legs were inconvenient, he could only move his body arduously, wanting to get out of this remote road as soon as possible.

However, before Ji Chen’ai managed to run away, the van stopped on the road not far from him, and three men with masks and hats got out of the van.

These several people didn’t say much. They immediately came running towards Ji Chen’ai and quickly surrounded him.

Ji Chen’ai makes a frightened face, asking, “What do you guys want, I dont have money!”

These people didn’t answer him, merely lifting Ji Chen’ai directly out from his wheelchair and then immediately forcing him into their van.

Their actions were rude. Ji Chen’ai felt pain all over his body when he hit the back seat hard. Then everything on him, including the mobile phone he had been talking to, was taken away and his head was covered with a sack.

Zhou Yaoyun’s anxious voice came from the other side of the call, “Brother? Brother? Are you okay? Speak something, Brother?!”

The phone call was hung up, and Ji Chen’ai received a heavy kick on his abdomen. An eccentric-looking man with a dialect from another province said, “This boy is worth some money.”

Ji Chen’ai’s heart started to sink, he had a bad guess.

Xiao Qi sighed, “If only you didn’t use the Invisible fly fly fly fly legs some time ago, you’d have escaped now…”

Ji Chen’ai replied, “What use of escaping, don’t tell me after this I won’t be going out in the future? These people are obviously coming for me. “

“What are you gonna do now?” asked Xiao Qi.

Ji Chen’ai estimated that the cooling down period needed for Invisible fly legs, and he could only clench his teeth, “Let’s drag it out for 2 days first.” He was a disabled person; it was unlikely for these people to guard him tightly.

When Ji Chen’ai was taken away, Zhou Yaoyun was cooking porridge. When he heard the sound of his mobile phone, he picked it up and pressed the answer button. The voice on the other end of the phone was a little noisy, but he could slightly hear someone shouting. When Zhou Yaoyun heard the source of the voice clearly, the expression on his whole face suddenly changed.

Obviously something happened to Ji Chen’ai that he would give Zhou Yaoyun a call while shouting non-stop for help.

Zhou Yaoyun didn’t get any answer from his questions. After the call was hung up, Zhou Yaoyun called Ji Chen’ai back but his cell phone was turned off.

Not caring about the porridge that was still boiling anymore, Zhou Yaoyun hurriedly turned off the heat and went out while calling the police. 20 minutes later, he found Ji Chen’ai’s wheelchair at the park’s gate.

Zhou Yaoyun was covered with sweat and out of breath, he gave the wheelchair a heavy punch.

When Ji Chen’ai was tied up in the car, he kept on thinking about who he had offended. According to their accents and the content of their conversation, Ji Chen’ai quickly came up with a name — Yang Yuyi, the little girl who had been sold by human traffickers from northeast to here and forced to beg. (Chapter 8)

Except for these human traffickers, it seemed that he didn’t offend anyone else, but how did these people know his information…

Ji Chen’ai was somewhat confused; he forced himself to calm down and think of countermeasures.

The van had been driving for quite some time. When Ji Chen’ai almost sorted everything, he got pulled out of the van.

Ji Chen’ai had a disabled leg, so when these people were in the process of pulling him out, it felt a bit insulting. They didn’t care whether he could walk or not, but they casually pulled him out like a sack.

Ji Chen’ai’s head was covered with a cloth bag and he couldn’t see the things around him clearly. He had been tossed and thrown to the ground by several people and his body was full of bruises.

But fortunately, the cloth bag on Ji Chen’ai’s head was finally taken off.

The man who had taken off the cloth bag on Ji Chen’ai’s head was a middle-aged man in his forties. He was not tall and had a fierce face.  As soon as he helped Ji Chen’ai get off the cloth bag on his head, he kicked Ji Chen’ai in the chest, “Is that the bastard who killed Third Sis?”

A dull hum escaped from Ji Chen’ai’s mouth after he got kicked.

The man standing beside the man who kicked Ji Chen’ai said, “Old Four, don’t kill him, from his look, he can make a lot of profit for us.”

Old Four looked at Ji Chen’ai and scanned him up and down like scanning merchandise, then he turned around and asked the only woman among the four: “Big Sis, how much can this person sell?”

The woman, who was called ‘Big Sis’, took a look at Ji Chen’ai, “This kind of face is worth quite a lot of money.”

“But he already saw our faces,” retorted Old Four.

Big Sis replied, “Scared your ass, when that time comes, just cut his tongue and break his hand, still scared that he will talk about us? There are a lot of people who like this kind of merchandise, but there aren’t a lot of them in stock.”

So far, Ji Chen’ai’s speculation was confirmed, these people were really from the ‘Beggars’ gang’. And the reason why he had been kidnapped here was probably because he had rescued Yang Yuyi, which caused Yang Yuyi’s father’s revenge on this organization.

Ji Chen’ai asked, “Why haven’t you triggered any negative energy skills? Why the Devil’s Smile can’t be used here?”

“The Devil’s Smile can only be used against kids, because the punishment is weak, there is a strict age limit,” answered Xiao Qi.

“Okay then, do you have any good news for me?” asked Ji Chen’ai again.

Xiao Qi said, “The good news is that your negative energy value is enough for you to use the second stage in level 2 negative energy skill.”

After listening to Xiao Qi, Ji Chen’ai looked at the panel carefully and found out that there were several more panel skills that lit up. The skills were ‘The Slander’s Salvation’, ‘The Sadist Self-Realization’ and ‘The Coward’s Courage.’ Ji Chen’ai knew Xiao Qi wouldn’t explain these skills in detail, so he simply did not ask.

T/N: Negative energy system Level 2 are divided into 2 stage, first stage consists of ‘The Devil’s Smile’, ‘The End of the Liar’, ‘The Stealer’s Regret’ (Chapter 10) , while the second stage is consists of  ‘The Slander’s Salvation’, ‘The Sadist Self-Realization’ and ‘The Coward’s Courage.’ I personally wanted to know more about ‘The Sadist Self-realization’ …

The man who tied up Ji Chen’ai thought at first that he would give him several punches if Ji Chen’ai would make a lot of noise. But he didn’t expect that when this boy heard about his miserable future, he didn’t give any response at all. He looked silent, as if he had given up resistance.

The Big Sis said, “Throw him in the room and lock him up with those women and children. Just feed him a meal every day. Someone will pick up the goods in a few days.”

Old Four asked, “Big Sis, can I taste it first…”

“Taste your sh*t taste, these all are superior quality merchandise, any damage will affect the price, and boss will peel your skin,” scolded the Big Sis.

Old Four sneered twice and stopped talking. Old Four, who had lost his face in front of the Big Sis, vented his anger on Ji Chen’ai’s body. He grabbed Ji Chen’ai’s arm and dragged him straight right into the room, completely ignoring the rough ground rubbing with Ji Chen’ai’s body, making him bleed.

If it’s winter, it’s all right. But in summer, everyone’s clothes were not thick. When Ji Chen’ai was dragged into the room, half of him was covered with bloodstain.

Old Four grabbed Ji Chen’ai firmly and pulled him, before he threw Ji Chen’ai into the room. He spat to the ground and said, “Stay inside nicely, or I’m gonna break your legs!” Then he remembered that Ji Chen’ai’s leg was already disabled, so he turned his body and faced Ji Chen’ai, then he spoke again, “If you wish to keep your eyes, be good.”

Ji Chen’ai didn’t speak at all. When Old Four closed the door, he raised his head and looked around.

In this room, there were five or six haggard looking women and three children lying on the ground, looking like they were dying.

Xiao Qi said: “I really admire you…”

“Eh?” Ji Chen’ai asked.

Xiao Qi said: “Your positive energy has not reached Level 1, but your negative energy will soon reach Level 3…”

Ji Chen’ai. “…”
