Chapter 354: A Trip Through Time and Beyond (3)

Ja Sun has witnessed many things. These events seem to be making their way toward the war that split heaven and earth apart but Ja Sun wasn't fortunate enough to 'follow' the sight of a major player in this war. According to the Lady of the Lake, all the members of Bringer of Pain had Supreme Grandmaster attainment in their realms but couldn't defeat the Supreme Dragon God who is blessed with such potential that he possessed similar attainment over various concepts in this world.

Even Ja Sun was only on the cusp of achieving the attainment of a master in the concept of time and a realm of a Supreme Grandmaster is simply too distant. A newborn god-like Qian Xunji only has the attainment of Grandmaster in the concept of Blood and more experienced gods that Ja Sun witnessed in this journey mostly showed a similar comprehension of concepts. Those beyond did exist... but Ja Sum himself isn't capable of understanding their expertise. Not at this moment, at least. Updated from novelb(i)n.c(o)m

"What is that?"

Ja Sun stops observing the red falcon that the stream of time is passing through and notices an insurmountable wall of grey, familiar mist dissecting the entirety of the River of Time as long as Ja Sun can see.

Currently in the timeline, save for the Supreme Dragon God, almost all the Dragons including the Dragon God's elemental offsprings known as the Dragon Kings have been defeated, sealed, cursed, or killed. Many from the Bringer of Pain suffer the same fate and the weaker faction of Beast and Human Gods are no different.

This war created many gods only to kill them off.

There are even cases of gods attacking their supposed allies.

For instance, Ja Sun heard the rumors of a human god by the name of Rakshasa killed by the strongest the humans have to offer Asura.

And the wall of grey mist seemed to be filled with a ravenous slaughter intent the same kind as the Death God Domain or Slaughter City. A killing intent so peaceful that it manages to hide a tremendous and overbearing intent within it. A peaceful death... but death nonetheless.

A show of strength that even affects the very river of time changing the course of the world with the intent and ideology of slaughter itself.

The more Ja Sun 'looks' at it, the more enamored he feels. Compared to this intent that can divide the fabric of space and time, he felt his own intent a little...

Minuscule.

'What the hell is this?'

It doesn't take him a moment longer to understand that this is caused by an event that will take place soon since it's not far off downstream of the river of time.

Ja Sun also witnesses that the number of predictions being made by Godly experts of every nature increases eventually as the conflict between the gods of various factions increases in intensity but none of these forms could move past this barrier of killing intent and something just clicks in Ja Sun.

'When I delved into the memory of that million-year-old death spider emperor, I came across an avatar of Asura... the same was the case with the Deep Sea Demonic Whale. It's as if anyone who even knew the barest detail of this war is not unaffected by Asura's control. Their memories are deeply tainted with that god and Asura tries his level best to bury this war.

But why? It's just a war. I heard all about this from the Lady of the Lake. If Asura won... why not keep things as is? What's the point of being so secretive about this war?'

Ja Sun feels as if he is missing something. Conclusions are based on information at hand and assumptions are never to be relied on completely. Until this moment, until he saw this wall of killing intent that severs time and space, he felt that there is no need to question the events of this war.

Conflicts and war rarely need some significant reason to spark, after all. Ja Sun knew it very well. Behind the veil of righteous justification, one will only witness a deeply ingrained need for strength and dominance. That's the main reason behind every conflict.

But now that Ja Sun focuses on the current situation of this world, he realizes another thing

'Humans won. That is unquestionable. But... we follow the system created by the Evil Sage. Humans like Asura started on a more primitive system. Why? Didn't Asura force Evil Sage out of this world? Even if he decided that the cultivation of spirit rings is more efficient than the primitive method, why did he still leave a way out for the beasts to become a human?

If I was Asura, I would have made sure that beasts remained a tool for human cultivation... if I even cared that much in the first place. Asura and the previous gods who fought clearly did. Giving beasts a chance to become human will not change their origin. It can be seen how humans hunt the beasts turned into humans even more fervently. This only causes more conflict as now these beasts have a tiny chance to become a God, too...

So... Why?'

The more Ja Sun focused on this, the weirder he felt.

'Lady of the Lake wasn't completely honest... but then again, it's only expected. Even her 'unique' method of becoming a God is questionable despite its intriguing prospects.'

Ja Sun silently muses and waits for the drop of golden-black blood to reach this wall of killing intent.

"And Spirit Beasts," Xie Xan suddenly adds, causing everyone to look at him, "Qian Xunji is what Sun is to us... if we have Spirit Beasts as allies... so does the Blood God."

A moment of grave silence falls in the room as the Flood Dragon Beast sighs softly and shakes his head, "My scouts have low intelligence but each of them stands above 30000 years and due to having the barest of dragon bloodline, they can hold against a Spirit Douluo, too. But... just the aura from kilometers away scared them. They have powerhouses with nine spirit rings... or maybe something more. Dragons like us are quick to take the challenge if the enemy is slightly stronger but only a very dominant might can make my scouts quiver..."

Looking at the other beasts in the room, the man frowns, "Like ours. From the same species most likely."

Ah Yin huffs softly. A part of her just wanted to acclimate the beast group they found here and make use of them for what Ja Sun had planned for the Sea God Island but each of these schools of beasts has been an overlord before... it takes exceptional situations to move them. A threat of death would suffice but it wouldn't ensure cordiality. A part of the reason why Ja Sun wanted their group to train in the sea with these beasts was because of this.

"What do you think?" Ah Yin looks at Bi Ji who had a thoughtful expression throughout.

The Emerald Swan Monarch is to Ja Sun what Xie Xan has been to Bibi Dong A highly appreciated, valued, and efficient subordinate.

"If we leave, we need to make sure our presence does not attract their attention. It's easy to assume that if they are here for something precious, they would attribute it to us taking it away."

"But we don't know their motives. The best scenario could be that they want to train like us," Hu Lana chuckles.

"How is that the best scenario?" Bi Ji questions, "Why are we training to battle on the sea? If they are trying to do the same... what could be the cause for such need?"

Bi Ji's reasoning made everyone blink in surprise as the green-haired woman sighs deeply, "I don't like it one bit but... I don't believe that this is going to be the first time we run into Beast God's enemy. Bibi Dong described Blood God as an... rationally eccentric figure. Only substantial losses to the enemy will open the situation for us to grow."

"Just say we have to fight," Erlong rolls her eyes.

Ah Yin thinks carefully.

'Why would a man like Xunji send a team out in the sea? Well, the most precious 'thing' around that will attract a God is another God's inheritance... Does he know about it? It's possible. But no matter what the possibilities, the chances of reconciliation between us and Xunji are too low... since Bibi decided to kill him.'

"We set a trap. We work under the assumption that Blood God can know about us at any moment and plan for it as such." Ah Yin speaks up, "You two learned many things from him, I hope," she glances at Ja Yin and Violet as the former instantly takes great offense at Ah Yin's tone.

"You two will set a trap. We ambush them and we only kill the strongest. If we're doing this... we do it right. Jun'er and Hu Lana will not be anywhere near this battle. The same goes for Xiao Wu"

"I can fight!" Xiao Wu pouts.

"Maybe other Spirit Kings, but any errand attack from us will toast you for good," Zi Ji scoffs.

"What about you?" Ja Yin looks at Ah Yin.

"I have the most important duty," The bluenette remarks, "I will stay at a safe distance and maybe provide timely assistance."

The Golden Empyrean rolls her eyes in response.
