"Ahhh! Meat! Meat! Oh, how I love my meat!" Kana began singing her meat song as she roasted meat over an open fire outside on the palace grounds. At least this time, she had the courtesy to keep child friendly and skipped the parts about her Handsome Husband's meat stick.
Kana was in a good mood now that she had brought Rain back safe and sound. But this incident told her one thing. She needed to do something extra that would protect her babies just in case something like this came up again.
So after a night filled with meat platters of all kinds. Kana retired to her personal forge room that Creige had set up. It was here that she placed the forge she found in the deep dark cave underground where no one would be able to find it if not for luck.
With the door locked, Kana sat in front of her forge. She looked at the flames dancing around inside them, trying to come up with an idea. The flames danced about as if putting on a show for Kana as the temperature in the room continued to rise. Her forge room was special and had a barrier layering the inside in order to protect everyone from the massive amount of heat her forge put out. This was one of the reasons why she had locked the door. The other reason was she always practiced in the nude due to not liking her clothes sticking to her from sweat as she worked.
Kana sat there with her legs crossed under her as she fell into thought. Her hair was tied back into a ponytail and lightly fluttered off the waves of heat that exuded from the forge creating a small wind that swept through the room.
"What if I made them all chains…." Kana was trying to think what would fit her babies best. "No, a chain would get in the way…. What about a set of earrings? Mmm, this will do! Even Devan and Keith could wear those! Just a small stud will do. Let's also make weapons for them that they can use in emergencies…."
Kana took out a stone slab and etched a few images on it before setting them aside. She made one for each of her babies. Forging had always been Kana's hobby when she had time, so her skills over the years had reached heights she never thought possible. But the forge still had not fully accepted her as its master. But the forging technique she had learned from it was still the most pristine she had ever seen. It was so good that even Creige began using it. It took him a long time to master it.
With her sketches done, Kana took out a few special pieces of metal that Creige had found in the mountain range. It was a large lump of a bluish-black metal that had no name. Kana set it in the flames with a pair of tongs and then sat back as she waited for it to melt. But even after a long while, it still did not melt. It was as if the flames from the forge were not strong enough. "Hmmm…."
Kana pursed her lips before thinking about something. "What if I mix my dragon flames with chaos and make a chaotic flame? That should be hot enough, right?"
Kana had not tried to do this before when forging since her normal dragon flame was perfectly fine. But seeing she had met an ore that would not melt in her normal dragon flames, she had no other real option in this matter.
She took a deep breath and spat out a ball of black flame with streaks of white in it into the forge. The white was a bit of life force. She hoped to maybe give whatever she makes a bit more power.
Whether the life element will do anything is another story. The flames danced within the forge. The temperature in the room rose to extreme heights as sweat dripped from Kana's body. Even as a dragon, she was finding this heat a bit harsh. It was as if she was standing on the surface of the sun.
The strange metal finally began to melt and turn into something that could be forged. Kana pulled out the red-hot lump of metal and then pulled off a few bits of the same size to be used to make the earrings. She slowly tapped the earrings into shape using the same technique she would always use but in a more gentle manner. She was not making a blade, so she was not trying to squish anything since she was making a piece of jewelry.
Hours passed, even days. Kana did not eat or drink. The heat in the room was so high that if she did not protect her tools with barriers, everything would have long melted. But even the barriers could not stop the door handles to her forge from flowing a red hot color. Outside Ako looked at the handles with a furrowed brow. "She's fine."
"Sir?" Ako turned to look at Creige, who was standing there. "You needed to speak to her?"
"Yes… I wished to go out and look for a means to grow stronger…." Ako replied. She was lagging behind and had not found much of a way to grow stronger as of late.
"You will not find anything in this realm to make the current you stronger. I would suggest waiting until we leave for Aurora. I am sure it will be soon." Creige replied. He knew Kana was making preparations on her side. Even he had run into roadblocks.
"Then I will just take a trip to the mountains then." Ako sighed as she thanked Creige and disappeared. Only when she left did Creige clench his fists. He knew her pain well. He also wished to be stronger.
"Haha…." An old man's voice appeared behind Creige. Creige turned to see his now grandfather in law standing there with a bright smile. "If you want to get stronger, the academy in Aurora is the best place. It will help you grow. But be wary as there are many strong entities there."
"I know. Kana already talked to me about it. I do plan to go." He had almost forgotten about this. He did need strong people to help him grow more.
