The Third Elder was somewhat restless on the inside, observing his sibling's quiet demeanor.
Despite that, he started to discuss his sudden arrival. "First Brother, forgive me for disturbing so early in the morning, but have you heard anything about the Yue siblings?"
Not taking his eyes off the newspaper, he replied, "What about them?"
With shifty eyes, the Third elder's voice turned vague as he blurted out: "I think they might encounter an accident yesterday."
"Why would you say that?"
Grasping his trembling hands in order to control his feelings, the Third Elder clarified his earlier statement: "An associate of mine saw Yue Xiang's vehicle blowing up yesterday. As soon as I heard that, I didn't know what to do."
Folding his paper and placing it quietly on the coffee table, the First Elder's raspy voice finished his younger brother's next sentence. "So you came here to see whether the information can be trusted or not. Correct?"
First Elder's cold stare sent a shudder through Third Elder's spine. He started to stutter as he looked down at the floor, away from his older brother, "Ye----Yes."
"Then why didn't you call Master Yue or the Yue Villa to check on their wellbeing?"
"Fi--First--Bro---."
"Your acquaintance could have called the police or hospital to ensure that the Yue siblings were safe, on the off chance that they had an accident."
"Wel---."
"At least as an Elder, when you got the news of the accident, you should have announced it. Instead, you held onto it for an entire night and then hurried here before dawn to check on whether they are dead or alive."
"Noo---I-didn't-me---"
The First Elder didn't give him a chance to talk, he continued to lecture his brother. "If it is out of love, then where did that love go when Young Miss Yue was assaulted in WAX? Or the time when she was accused recently by the Mayor of injuring his daughter?"
Third Elder face was soaked in a cold sweat. He stammered in a hoarse voice, "It's a mis--misun--."
First Elder banged his walking stick on the floor once with a sharp tap, then he hollered: "Third Brother, do you think I am a fool?"
Raising the stick again, this time he pointed it at the Third Elder and threatened: "Don't forget the punishment of hurting your own kin."
Fear overwhelmed his body, and the Third Elder felt his legs go weak. Kneeling down on the ground before the First Elder, he placed two hands on the floor in absolute surrender. The Third Elder looked up at his brother and said: "First Brother, I didn't do anything! It's a complete misunderstanding!!!"
Being criticized by his First Brother for over an hour, the Third Elder left the Villa with an exhausted face.
After the Third Elder had left, a young lady entered the room, skipping until she came to a stop in front of the First Elder. Wearing a demon mask, she tried to scare him: "Boooo!!"
The First Elder's heartbeat fast for a moment in fear when he saw the ugly mask appear out of nowhere in front of his face. He quickly leaned back in surprise.
"Xue Xue !" He reprimanded.
"Hahaha! Scared you, scared you!"
Clapping her hands in pure joy the young lady, Yue Xue, bounced around the room. She appeared to be in her mid-20s but acted a lot younger.
The First Elder grumped a little and then he started to giggle alongside his granddaughter. Laughingly, he said: "You naughty kid, what's with the mask?" He shook his finger at her in fake anger.
As he tried to remove it, Yue Xue stopped his action by grasping his wrists and in a quiet voice, she pointed out, "Even after seeing the ugly mask, you are eager to tear it off and peer inside."
"Yes."
"Are you not afraid to see a face that is uglier than that mask?"
"To get to the bottom of something, I wouldn't hesitate to see even the ugliest of things." First Elder coolly answered.
"And that's how human personality works. So before they could reveal our face behind the mask, we need to set up a decoy, Grandpa."
The First Elder's eyes widened in astonishment. Then with a wide smile, he ruffled his granddaughter's lemon-colored hair. "Looks like you have already made all the necessary preparations, my Child."
Xue Yue slid her mask over the top of her large, emerald eyes until it rested on her forehead. Her eyebrows curved into a sneer and a voice, surrounded by a dark, malevolent tone, came out of her heart-shaped mouth. "Grandpa, it is always necessary to plan a counterattack. Of course, I have a few things planned."
------With Yue Wan----
Yue Xiang sprained his leg so Doctor Bai advised him to avoid walking for 2 to 3days. As a result, some of his things were moved from the Yue Villa to Xiao Hua's Villa for convenience's sake. As for Yue Wan, she was asked to return after the first night, but she refused to leave the villa in order to help look after her brother.
Someone was both happy and scared at the same time when they heard Yue Wan's decision.
Unfortunately for Xiao Hua and her brother, they had lied to her about the villa's origins and created a story about Ye Xian living alone for the purpose of new project development. They could not risk letting her stay too long because Xiao Hua had that deep secret room that they could not let her discover.
At the breakfast table, Yue Wan sat wearing a turtleneck dress.
"Are you cold Little Wan?" Yue Xiang asked, concerned.
Yue Wan touched her neck and replied with a look of confusion on her face: "No. I slept with my window open last night so I seem to have been bitten by a bug. They are quite big bites, so I felt more comfortable covering them up."
Xiao Hua, in the disguise of Ye Xian, sneezed as he was coming out of the kitchen with breakfast.
Yue Xiang already speculated on the bug's name, narrowing his gaze at Ye Xian, he replied: "That's why I told you to go back to Yue."
Yue Wan pouted as she murmured, "Ihatetobelalone."
Not comprehending what she had said, Yue Xiang asked once more, "What?"
