Chapter 70 - Bias behaviour

Moving three steps backward efficiently, Jinhee avoided the slap that was directed towards her. With a keen eye, Jinhee had observed every single move of Minjoon and therefore, succeeded in avoiding his slap in time.

Her eyes showing a fierce and serious outlook, Lee Jinhee warned, "Next time, you resort to something like this, I won't be afraid to notify grandpa Dowon about it."

No matter how many shareholders or supporters Lee Minjoon had in his side, he still couldn't afford to get in the bad side of Lee Dowon.

Controlling his anger, Lee Minjoon voiced out, "Maintain yourself, and don't try to tarnish the name of Moonstone Enterprise."

Paying no heed to Minjoon's words, Jinhee walked towards the stairs collectedly whilst her mind was plagued with thoughts.

°°°

Although she managed to threaten and stop Lee Minjoon today, such a trick wouldn't work for a long term. With the wrath Lee Minjoon held towards Lee Jinhee, he'll surely find another way to teach her a lesson.

Taking out her phone, she decided to inform Lee Dowon on this matter and practice caution from the beginning. Clicking upon his number, Lee Jinhee waited for him to pick up the phone.

When the call connected, Jinhee spoke out, "How are you doing, Grandpa Dowon?"

"Fine. I assume everything is going well with you," He spoke out, "Is there anything you needed?"

"Not exactly. I just went too far with insulting Lee Minjoon and wanted to inform you on it beforehand." Jinhee let out a sheepish laughter at the end.

"You do know the consequences of provoking him?" Her grandfather questioned.

"I'm aware, but if it wasn't for this way, they would've troubled me more with some rubbish Jinkyung had made up," Jinhee voiced out.

An audible sigh was left by her grandfather Dowon.

"I won't reprimand you. But remember that, over the years, Lee Minjoon had grown extremely powerful. Many of Moonstone Enterprise's shareholders and staffs support him. For you, avoiding such a person is the best option," Dowon voiced out.

'If I leave him unscathed, he'll ruin all of my plans. Don't worry, Grandpa Dowon, I have plans to take him down and just need some time to implement them.'

"Next month, I'll have to move abroad for some matters and might stay there for a while. It would be better for you to follow along," Dowon stated.

'Abroad? That sounds like a nice option. Maybe I can go there, once I'm over with everything here, to start anew.'

Jinhee smiled to herself at that thought.

"I will; I will follow you one day, Grandpa Dowon, but for now, I have to remain in South Korea for some important tasks. After they are done, I'll definitely go to where you'll be at," Jinhee stated in a soft tone as the determination within her increased.

"I can't disagree if you have something important, but it's not safe for you to stay at Lee Mansion. I'll arrange a place for you."

The warmth that Dowon showed in his tone touched Jinhee, and she was more displeased with herself for disappointing the only man that cared for her and respected her opinions.

"I'll be going to Japan on Tuesday with Lee Jaehyun, and the trip is going to last for four days," Jinhee informed. "After I return, I can directly go to the dormitory."

Jinhee added, "I'm a grown girl now. You should care about your health before being so much concerned with me."

"You're the only granddaughter I have. If I don't dote on you, then whom will I dote on, silly girl!" Dowon voiced out in a scolding tone.

Jinhee let out a chuckle.

"Are you hinting me that if I had a sibling, you wouldn't dote on me?" Jinhee light-heartedly joked.

"You brat! It's way past your bedtime! Go to sleep."

"Grandpa Dowon, with your age, it's not healthy to stay awake this late." Jinhee added series of laughs at the end, teasing Dowon further. It reminded her of the old days when Dowon and she used to tease each other with every opportunity they got.

Staring at the light above her head, Jinhee was in a deep thought. Will she ever become the carefree girl she once was? Will she ever be able to happy without being afraid that something will snatch it away?

No matter how much pitiful, pathetic, or weak Jinhee was in her previous life, at least in her previous life, Jinhee did not feel so hollow in her life.

Her aim for now was revenge and settling everything right. But after that is over, what will she do with rest of her life? Was she capable of falling in love again and have those romantic dreams once again?

When you gain something, you lose in the process too. In her previous life, she would be filled with happiness and laughers if things were like this world.

Jinhee let out a despondent sigh.

Only time will tell. For now, she could only concentrate on what to plot further. In the end, it could probably take her an eternity to take down her enemies.

°°°

Jinhee groaned as she heard her phone ringing. Taking her hand out of her blanket, she grabbed the phone from the nightstand and received it in her half awake self.

Who was calling her so early in the morning?

"Hello," Jinhee voiced out after letting out a yawn.

"Wow! Jinhee-ah, your morning voice sounds so sexy!" Jinhee heard a cheerful voice exclaim.

This was enough for Jinhee to jolt up from beneath her blanket, and she sat up straight immediately. Almost all the sleep in her eyes disappeared at that moment.

'What was Taehee planning so early in the morning?'

"What do you want!?" Jinhee questioned, irritated about being woken up so early. Her tone clearly showed the displeasure she currently felt.

Using a voice filled with sorrow, Taehee voiced out, "I just wanted to check up on you, but it seems that it wasn't welcomed."

"Well, I don't adore being woken up so early," Jinhee voiced out sarcastically.

Taehee's laughs reached Jinhee's ears, making her get more annoyed, and she spoke out, "You're so lazy, Jinhee! It's nine in the morning! No wonder you seem to be gaining so much weight recently!"

"Can you not make me angry so early in the morning?" Jinhee spoke out, trying to be as nonchalant as possible with her tone.

Although she repeated to herself that Taehee's words were nonsense for most part, looking at her arms, belly, and thighs, it seems that she had gained some weight.

This must be due to the stress eating!

Letting out a chuckle, Taehee stated, "Alright, alright. I'll make no comment on your weight no matter how much incredible it is."

With every Taehee uttered, Jinhee grew to become increasingly agitated. Is this some sort of special talent possessed by Taehee?

Sometimes, it was a surprise to Jinhee on how quickly Taehee shifted the emotions in her tone. Current situation could be an example.

It seemed that not even a second was taken for that jovial tone to disappear and concern to appear in her voice as she spoke out, "Are you alright though? Did that jerk do anything to you? If he did, then fear not! I'll take revenge on your behalf."

"The only I need to take revenge against is you!" Jinhee voiced out.

Was this nonsensical talk the reason she was disturbed at this time of the day? She wanted to bang hardly something against Taehee's head.

"The bias behaviour I'm seeing from you, between Jaehyun and me, should be changed," Taehee pointed out, trying to sound righteous.

"One more word from you, and I'll personally come to torture you, Han Taehee, at you place!" Jinhee tried to sound threatening enough.

"So eager to visit my place, Honey," Taehee stated flirtatiously. "Luckily, I have prepared myself for you."

"If it wasn't for your appearance, people would have thought of you as a fifty year old pervert!" Jinhee exclaimed, hanging up the call in irritation.

Talking with such a person was basically a waste of time, and with the time left, she wanted to catch up on that sleep. Moreover, sharing breakfast with the Lee family was not something Jinhee wanted. Sleeping with an empty stomach sounded to be a better option to her.

Covering her face with her white blanket, Jinhee fell down on the soft bed of hers, letting comfort pass over her body.
