"As you please," Taehee said before getting on to his knees for real. Her one knee touch the ground while the other didn't.
With a humble expression on her face, Taehee stared at Jinhee earnestly and spoke out, "I'm sorry."
Then, picking up Jinhee's right hand, Taehee placed a kiss on it and continued, "Now, can you quit being angry with me and accept me as your life partner?"
Taehee's actions caught Jinhee by surprise, and she immediately removed her hand away from Taehee, shooting her a glare. She didn't ask if Taehee to go to that extreme.
"The last part was unnecessary," Jinhee commented.
"I make fun of you, you glare; I apologize, then also you glare. What am I supposed to do to make you actually not glare?" Taehee let out a frustrated sigh.
"Simple do nothing. I'd prefer that," Jinhee voiced out.
"Aren't I supposed to do what you order me to do?" Taehee blinked her eyes innocently at Jinhee.
"Just do what I order you to, nothing extra!" Jinhee exclaimed.
"So commanding. Kinky, I like it." Taehee winked.
"You creep," Jinhee commented, "Anyways, where are Jaehyun and Chaewon?"
"Both of them were called by the manager. Something important it seemed," Taehee answered, "Now, the night belongs to only two of us."
"Nope, because I'm returning to my room. Bye." Jinhee gave Taehee a wide smile.
'Do you take me for an idiot to spend a night with you when I know that I have other options?'
Taehee pouted.
"It is too dangerous for a female to go out this late at night."
"Han Taehee, I'm going to my room, not outside of the building."
"But why can't you stay with me?" Taehee questioned. "I promise you that I won't annoy you."
"You and your promises— you always find loopholes in them," Jinhee commented.
Staring at Jinhee with her doe eyes, Taehee said, "But now, you have the command over me, so I can't do anything to you."
Jinhee sat on the bed and sighed. Taehee was all dominating and forceful in the beginning. But why did she accept being controlled by Jinhee so easily? There was definitely some motive behind it.
"Taehee, I apologize, but I can't act normal with you," Jinhee said honestly.
"Then, don't be. I'd prefer your genuine side more," Taehee commented with a bright smile.
Jinhee stood up from the bed and stared at Taehee solemnly. Jinhee had to solve this problem with Taehee firstly, instead of avoiding it, to gain some peace.
"Look, Taehee! I know you can, so I need you to be serious now. I can't get my head wrapped around the things you do," Jinhee voiced out, and the smile on Taehee's face disappeared.
Her expression grew much more grave.
"We're strangers. Yes, I have saved you, but that's something I'd do for anyone. I didn't do that to have you as my stalker!
I don't even want to be associated with you in the first place. I tried to act open with you for the first few days because of the words you said on that day when I was asleep; I felt guilty.
However, I can't continue to do this. Do you recall how kidnapped me on Taeho's birthday? Do you know how scary that was? You forced me into lots of things.
Maybe, you're more powerful than me and could potentially destroy me. However, I don't want to suffocate myself by keeping it inside of me.
So, please, if you even care about me a little bit, just leave me alone. Let's both go separate ways. Being with you is scary for me; I want to avoid you.
I'm thankful for what you've done for me, and if you want me to, I'll repay you for that. But please, please don't trouble me anymore. I-I hate it!" Jinhee released all the pent up anger and frustration within her.
At first, she felt satisfied. However, after looking at Taehee's expression, she felt guilt stab her. Was her words right now too much? Nonetheless, Jinhee had to stand up for herself.
Jinhee had never seen such an expression on Taehee's face, and ignoring her own aching heart, she walked past Taehee. Watching Taehee's expression more only brought more pain to her.
"Then, what? What should I do to make you allow me to stay beside you?" Taehee questioned.
The desperation and sadness could clearly be deciphered in Taehee's tone; It was similar to what Jinhee had felt for Jaehyun in her last life. The walls around her heart almost crumbled down.
'No, Lee Jinhee, you have to be strong. You can't fall weak.'
"Nothing, Taehee, nothing. From the very beginning, I despised the thought of being your friend," Jinhee voiced out.
Hearing how cruel she sound, Jinhee almost wanted to apologize to Taehee. However, luckily, she was able to restrain herself.
With those being her final words, Jinhee was about to walk out of Taehee's room when one of Taehee's sentence caught her attention.
"If only you had your memories."
Nonetheless, Jinhee did not turn back and closed the door behind her before leaving. A downhearted expression sat on Taehee's face as she stared at the door.
"I guess, that's when you stop being more persistent, Taehee," Taehee spoke out to herself as a tear left her eye.
