Chapter 99 - Euphonious voice

After absorbing in Taeho's words, Jinhee stared at Taeho with indescribable look in her eyes. She did not know if she should be grateful since she got a chance to start over because of him or should hate him because he was the reason behind his death.

'Wait a second!'

"A car did not kill me; It was a truck," Jinhee voiced out. Jinhee could clearly remember the bright headlights of the truck before it ran over her.

"You might have remembered wrong," Taeho said, "It was my car."

That could be the case. In the moment of her panic, she might have failed to recognize the vehicle in front of her.

"Why?" 

That was only what Jinhee could voice out. Both of them were strangers in her previous life, and he had no reason to deliberately harm her.

Sweat began soaking her palms, and nervousness bloomed within her. She had agreed to take her killer as her fiancé.

At that moment, Jinhee recalled something, and things started to make more sense to Jinhee at this point.

'Jinhee overheard the fact that Taeho bought the Lilac Entertainment in this life of hers, and in her last life, it was this Lilac Entertainment that scouted Jinkyung. There must be a connection between the two!'

"Y-You're the owner for Lilac Entertainment," Jinhee voiced out, staring at Taeho and waiting for him to explain everything.

Taeho lips curved slightly, and Jinhee almost thought she was looking at an illusion. On his smooth and handsome face, the smile looked absolutely captivating. Even with a mask on, he was remarkably attractive!

"I guess you remembered that," Taeho said, "I was owner to Lilac Entertainment in my last life as well and also the mysterious backer, as the media calls it, of Jinkyung."

Hearing his words, Jinhee let out a gasp. Many questions roamed inside her mind, and she did not know to start with which one.

Why would a man like Han Taeho support her when Jinkyung loved some other man? More importantly, why was Han Taeho telling her all this? Shouldn't this be some top rare secret of his? Did he trust her to inform her on all these?

Confusion brewed within her whilst she blankly at Han Taeho. She did not know what to say or how to react. If it was not for Han Taeho, she would still be in her previous life— lying on her bed broken and crying over Taehee and Jaehyun.

"I had sort of weak health from a very young age and did not go out much after puberty hit me. It was at a party, when I was fourteen, where I met Lee Jinkyung."

The fourteen years old young boy, with his signature mask, looked very manly and handsome for his age, and therefore, he attracted the gazes of many females out there. 

Adults crowded him, vying for favour while the females tried to gain his fascinated attention. All of this felt suffocating to him, and he needed to take a breath.

As he stepped into the balcony, he saw a beautiful girl standing there. The cold wind blew her air as she stared at the moon. The moon reflected in the dark eyes of her, and a small smile sat on her features.

The female looked angelic to the little Taeho, and he felt as if she would disappear if he reached out his hand and touch her.  

Taeho did not count the amount of second he stood there, staring at the mesmerising girl; It was difficult for him to remove his eyes off of her.

Taeho let out a gasp when the female turned towards him. Using his eyes, he scanned every little details on her face. Never had he seen such a beautiful girl in his life!

The fourteen year old felt his heart skipping a beat, and under her gentle gaze, he felt nervous. Sweat soaked his palms, and he rubbed them against his dress pants.

"Who are you?" The female asked. Her euphonious voice was enough to take his breath away, and he could listen to it forever.

"Taeho. I'm Han Taeho. What about you?" Taeho asked with a bright smile on his face.

From a very young age, he was given a strict education on how his emotions should not be easily shown or else it can prove to be detrimental for him. However, seeing the girl in front of him, he couldn't stop himself from smiling.

"My name is Lee Jinkyung. Nice to meet you, Taeho-ssi." The beautiful girl returned with a wide smile, and Taeho felt his heart beat rate increasing. A light pink blush coloured his cheeks.

"I'm worried. Kwon Youngmi doesn't seem to be someone stupid. How do we get rid of her in the end after Jinhee is destroyed?" Jinkyung questioned to the voice in her head.

"Did you forget about him, the one who is absolutely smitten by you?" The voice in her head questioned.

"Right, Han Taeho! How could I have forgotten about him?" Jinkyung, Jinhee's so-called twin sister, smiled at the realization.

"He would be a perfect pawn when it comes to destroying Youngmi," Jinkyung added with a smirk.

"Ever since that night three years ago, he is completely in love with you, and his loyalty belongs to you. My plan that night worked just as perfectly," The voice in her head stated.
