Chapter 101 - Being a hero

At that critical moment, Jinhee did not expect anyone to save her all of a sudden. She had lost all the hopes in that instant and just waited for the pain to come.

But it did not because it was stopped by Taehee. Watching how blood dripped down her hand, Jinhee wanted to cry out and scold Taehee on how meddlesome she was being.

Was it really worth it to save someone who declared about hating you? Why did Taehee do it?

Concern and guilt increased within Jinhee while the fear within her gradually decreased. Her thought wasn't on the girl— where it should be at this moment— but it was on the injured Taehee.

The attacker stood up from her place and was about to run away when one of the security guards rushed towards them and held the girl by her wrist, preventing her from running away.

No matter how much the girl struggled, her efforts remained fruitless when it came to the buff security guard. Giving up in the end, the disorderly female turned to look at Jinhee with a glare.

Laughing crazily, in Korean, the girl voiced out, "You think you're safe, Lee Jinhee?! That's only for a short time until you meet your doom. A disgusting bitch like you should disappear from Jaehyun Oppa's world or better, from the entire world! You—"

"What are you waiting for? Take her away," Taehee ordered in a stern tone.

Hearing her words, only one name came to Jinhee's mind— Kwon Youngmi. A Korean girl attacking her in Japan was odd, and moreover, the girl did not attempt to kill her. The blade was targeted towards her shoulder.

Kwon Youngmi did not want to kill her directly but torment Jinhee until the day she cries for her own death. The fear within Jinhee intensified, and she stumbled as she took a step back.

As the security guard turned to leave with the girl, who continued to curse at Jinhee, Taehee looked towards Jinhee with concern in 'her' eyes and asked, "Are you alright?"

"It's to you I should ask that question. Let's hurry to the hospital firstly and talk later. That wound can get infected!"

"Being a hero felt so good," Taehee commented, "But now my hand is killing me."

Taehee let out a groan as a light-hearted expression sat on her face. Both Jinhee and Taehee were walking out of the hospital door after Taehee's wound got neatly bandaged up by the doctor.

"Thank you," Jinhee voiced out in a soft voice.

Smugly smirking, although she clearly heard it, Taehee questioned, "What did you just say?"

"Thank you," Jinhee answered monotonously.

"A bit louder. I can't hear you," Taehee said, leaning her head closer to Jinhee's face.

Jinhee stopped in her steps and let out a frustrating sigh. Turning, she faced Taehee with a slightly irritated looked in her eyes.

"I SAID THANK YOU," Jinhee voiced out in a loud tone.

She, then, added, "But who told you to be an idiot and hold the knife for someone who hates you? Is the top student's IQ deteriorating!? Or do you actually take yourself to be some superhuman!?"

Wincing, Taehee exclaimed, "Ouch! My hand hurts again. Is this the behaviour one should show to their saviour?"

"The ten days aren't over, so shut close your mouth," Jinhee voiced out before continuing to walk.

Using her left hand, Taehee showed that she zipped her mouth close. Then, she took out the phone with her uninjured left hand and began typing something away.

At that moment, Jinhee felt her phone vibrate, and the sound, which indicated a notification had arrived, was heard by her. Stopping in her steps, Jinhee opened her phone and read the message.

"You're being friendly with me. Does that mean I'm forgiven?" Jinhee silently read the contents.

Looking at the top of the screen, Jinhee noticed that the text was from Taehee, who stood beside her, and a smile, as if she was expecting something good, was on her face.

"I-I think, uhm..." Jinhee stopped midway, not knowing how to reply to Taehee. Taehee saved her at this moment, and being rude her was something Jinhee couldn't do at this moment.

"It's okay. You don't need to be pressured; I'm leaving. Just be careful next time around," Taehee voiced out, wearing a bright smile on her face.

Waving a bye towards Jinhee, Taehee turned and walked away in a carefree manner. That hurt, which flashed in Taehee's eyes, was not missed by Jinhee, and this squeeze her heart tightly and painfully.

Wasn't this what she wanted all along? Didn't she want Taehee to be far away from her and not disturb her anymore? Now that this was the case, why did it hurt so badly?

In reality, did she actually want it?

"Take care of that wound and don't get it in water. Avoid being careless!" Jinhee yelled after Taehee, who walked away from her.
