Looking at the antiseptic liquid in Han Taehyun's hand, Lee Jinhee almost felt a chill go down her back. Learning from Han Taehyun on how the antiseptic burns even though it was very much effective, Lee Jinhee prayed that she wouldn't fall victim to this antiseptic.
Lee Jinkyung sat on the tiled floor whilst her body leaned against the wall. Blood flowed down her elbows, nose, and knees whilst she was unconscious. Nonetheless, Lee Jinhee could not bring herself to feel pity for the female in front of her.
Han Taehyun and Jinhee did not bother to wake the girl up or put her on a couch. Although Lee Jinhee found her actions being cruel, she did not care about. Lee Jinkyung was responsible for so many lives in her last life, and although Jinkyung did not do anything in this life of hers, she could not be considered innocent.
Lee Jinhee recalled all the times Jinkyung bullied and put her down. Taking the cotton pad from Taehyun's hand, Jinhee grabbed the bottle of antiseptic liquid and dabbed the cotton wool inside of it.
A smile formed on Han Taehyun's face.
When the wool was soaked with the antiseptic liquid, Lee Jinhee forwarded her hand towards Jinkyung's legs and placed the wool on the injured spot. Han Taehyun held both of Jinkyung's leg down so that she won't be able to do anything.
The burning pain which went through her knee interrupted her sleep, and wanting to get away from that pain, Lee Jinkyung tried to jerk her leg away. However, something held it down, and no matter how hard she tried, Jinkyung could not move her leg away.
Jinkyung gasped as she opened her eyes, and the pain that went through her knee intensified. Looking in front of her, she saw Jinhee rubbing something against her knee and Taehee holding her leg down.
In the moment of discomfort, Lee Jinkyung forgot all about the appearance she tried to show the public and yelled out, "WHAT THE FUCK! LET GO OF ME! AH! RELEASE ME, YOU FUCK—"
Jinkyung let out a scream whilst Jinhee pressed the cotton more forcefully into Jinkyung's wound. Jinkyung's voice was starting to annoy her, and with sadistic joy visible in her eyes, Jinhee stared at Lee Jinkyung.
Her lips curved up to a smirk.
"Jinkyung-ah, stay still. I'm just trying to disinfect your wounds. You wouldn't want to get your limbs amputated," Jinhee spoke out whilst she removed the cotton off of Jinkyung's wound.
"No, let go of me at this instant, Lee Jinhee. I swear I'll kill you after this, You—!"
"Calm down, Lee Jinkyung. You're ruining your appearance in front of others. There is also someone other than Jinhee here, and think clearly," The voice in her head reminded.
Lee Jinkyung bit down her lips after realizing that the voice in her head was right. Tears welled up at the corner of her eyes due to the intense, and there was nothing Jinkyung could do at this moment other than to bear with this.
"Did you hear that, Taehee? Once I die, remember to hold Jinkyung as one of the suspects," Jinhee voiced out whilst she turned to stare at Han Taehyun with a smile on her face.
Throwing off that cotton wool into the trash can, Jinhee took another cotton wool from the packet and dabbed it in the same antiseptic liquid. After the cotton wool had absorbed enough of the liquid, Jinhee forwarded her hand towards Jinkyung's wound.
Jinkyung tried her hardest to force out a smile after hearing Jinhee's words. Since Han Taehee was here, she could not expose herself completely this easily.
"Jinhee-ah, I'm sorry about it. It's just that the pain which made me spout nonsense. Most certainly I don't want to kill you, and I'm grateful that you're taking care of me. But I think I can do it—"
Lee Jinkyung let out another scream whilst Jinhee pressed on her wound with the wet cotton wool. This time it was less shrilly and sounded more cultured.
"You don't need to be that courteous, Jinkyung-ah. I can do it. After all, that's what the sisters are for— to take care of each other," Jinhee spoke out, "And don't worry. I didn't take into mind what you just said earlier. It's nothing new to hear to voice out nonsense."
Lee Jinhee held a certain glint in her eyes, and noticing that, Lee Jinkyung shuddered involuntarily. Although Jinhee's words insulted her, Jinkyung still had to keep on her smile.
That's when Jinkyung's eyes fell on Jinhee's bandaged right hand, and her eyes sharpened at that. Could it be that Lee Jinhee was hurt? Thought of that brought happiness to Jinkyung.
'Why can't she just die?'
"Jinhee-ah," Jinkyung spoke out— her voice sounding hoarse due to all the screaming she did.
"It seems that your wrist is hurt. When did that happen? You shouldn't try to do this when you're injured yourself," Lee Jinkyung said— concern noticeable in her tone.
"Ah! This little thing. It's nothing compared to the wound you go, Jinkyung-ah," Jinhee said, "And it's almost healed."
Han Taehyun was proud of Jinhee for being to reply like that, and in order to back up Jinhee, Han Taehyun voiced out, "You didn't know that Jinhee-ah was injured? It has almost been a week. I thought both of you were close, but it seems like that's not the case."
Putting on a pitiful expression, Lee Jinkyung looked down on the ground, and as she was about to open the mouth to say something, Jinhee pressed the cotton on to her wound again. A scream left her mouth instead of words.
Whilst internally glaring at Jinhee, Jinkyung spoke out, "I do consider Jinhee as someone close and tell her about everything but…"
"Is that so, Jinkyung-ah? Then, why didn't I know that you have a connection with Han Taeho? Didn't you say that you tell me everything?" Lee Jinhee raised one of her eyebrows.
This was not enough to make Jinkyung speechless, but Jinkyung was somewhat shocked on how Jinhee got to figure out about it. Then again, it could be Taehee who told her about it. Since Jinhee knew about it now, some plans of hers might face problems.
"About that, I just thought Han Taeho would be uncomfortable with others knowing that we're friends since, uhm, you know, because of his status," Lee Jinkyung spoke out.
"Is that so? Could it be that he's embarrassed to have you as his friend? Sorry, Jinkyung-ah, I didn't mean to say that and offend you in any way," Jinhee voiced out.
Lee Jinkyung stared the other way and this time, she had no words to say. If she were to claim on how Han Taeho liked her, she would be laughed at for presuming matters.
"Right. I am his sister, and he always shares everything with me. I wonder why he did not inform me about this," Taehyun said— adding fuel to the fire.
Clenching her hand into a tight fist, Jinkyung spoke out, "It could be that. After all, both of us aren't up to the same status."
Jinhee wanted to see the expression on Lee Jinkyung's face when she finds out that Jinhee and Taeho were each other's fiancée. Nonetheless, Jinhee knew that she couldn't go too far and have Jinkyung doubt Taeho.
Lee Jinhee also noticed that Jinkyung was not shocked when she knew that Taeho and Taehee were siblings. This showed that she knew about something, and most definitely there was someone behind Jinkyung, who knew lots of things.
"Or it could be just that he wanted to keep you protected. After all, Taeho is a really powerful person and has lots of enemies coming after him," Jinhee voiced out.
'Of course that's the case. Taeho loves me too much to be embarrassed of me.'
