Chapter 167 - Happy future

"Lee Jinhee, mind your manners. I have no time here for jokes," Jinkyung said. Her tone mirrored how angry she felt, and her eyes glared at Lee Jinhee.

An amused expression sat on Lee Jinhee's face, and, wearing a wide smile on her face, Jinhee asked, "Then, why are you sitting in front of me looking like a joke?"

"Yah! Lee Jinhee, I came here on serious matters," Jinkyung said.

"Really? That's interesting," Jinhee spoke out, "Get started then. You see, I have sleep to catch up on which I have missed because of your arrival here."

Jinhee let out a yawn.

"Jinhee, everyone is not as leisurely as you," Jinkyung stated, "Matters are serious at home. Dad and Mom are both worried sick about you. Instead of fooling around, can't you pay them a visit? How much ill-mannered can you be?"

"This is how I am, Jinkyung, and accept that. No matter how much you cry or plead me, I won't return home," Jinhee said, "Even if you cry out to Han Taeho and he kicks me out of here, I will not go to that place. So, you can leave now."

"Because of your recent affairs, the reputation of our family had gone down, and our business is facing a lot of problems," Jinkyung pointed out, "Father is having a hard time calming down and convincing—"

Lee Jinhee raised her hand up in order to signal Jinkyung to stop.

Jinhee chuckled.

"Hold on! Hold on! What did you just say? Our business? That's funny. As much as I clearly remember, I am sure your father works under Grandfather Dowon for a salary of fixed price

You shouldn't go around saying such things; People will laugh at you," Jinhee spoke out. On her face sat a sneer.

"Lee Jinhee!" Jinkyung slammed her palm down on the table, creating a loud noise.

"Don't hurt your already injured hand just because your pride is being attacked," Jinhee vocalised.

"Lee Jinhee, you're really heartless! Mom almost had a heart attack, and you're acting like this. Do you even slightly care about our parents? You're really disappointing," Jinkyung voiced out.

One way or another, Jinkyung had to take Jinhee home or else she'll become a laughing stock in front of the others.

"Heartless? Heol! That sounds funny coming from someone like you," Jinhee said, "I have a question I always wondered about. From a very young age, you're more beautiful and talented than me.

Then, why did you make trouble for me at every chance you got? If you were to be envious of me, that would be understandable. Wait! No way! Could it be that you're actually envious of me?"

Jinkyung scoffed.

"Do you think you have something I'll be envious of? As you said, I was more beautiful, smarter, and more talented than you. Even Grandfather, Mom and Dad loved me the best. It's just that—"

Lee Jinhee interrupted, "Grandfather...Yes! Grandfather Dowon! That was what you're envious of. I had his love and care whilst you didn't. He was cold to you but warm to me. You're envious that I had his protection."

Lee Jinkyung's eyes widened for a second before going back to their original size. Jinhee was not wrong; Jinkyung was indeed envious towards Jinhee for having Dowon's support.

Ever since Jinkyung was small, same thought ran in her mind. If she couldn't attain the love from Dowon, then how could that Jinhee get it? Lee Dowon was the most powerful figure in their family, and Jinkyung needed his support the most.

If Jinkyung could get him to back her, then it wouldn't be hard for her to get married to Kim Jaehyun.

When Jinkyung got to find out about Dowon's and Jinhee's relationship from the voice in her head, Jinkyung understood why he preferred Jinhee so much. At that time, Jinkyung despised the fact that she wasn't born as Dowon's real granddaughter. If Jinkyung could, she would exchange places with Jinhee.

Nonetheless, Jinkyung would not admit that in front of Jinhee. That was too humiliating for Jinkyung. She most definitely could not let Jinhee know that she was envious of Jinhee.

"What type of nonsense is that? Why in the world would I be envious of you? Have you gotten crazy?" A sneer appeared on Jinkyung's face.

"Honestly speaking, Jinkyung, at one time, I was envious of you, but now I realize that it is the most stupidest thing. Both the people you desperately want— Jaehyun and Grandfather Dowon— cares for me and supports me," Jinhee said.

"Maybe you have lots of followers and guys who admire you. But do you actually have someone you can open your heart to? Do you even have someone who will like you with your true behavior? What everyone prefers of you is that mask of yours," Jinhee added.

"Jinhee, so what if they care for you now? Eventually, everything I want will be mine. My true self? Who cares about that? As long as it works, I'm ready to put on a mask for my entire life," Jinkyung voiced out.

"At times, I really feel pity for you, Jinkyung-ah. Dreaming for the impossible isn't a good thing. I think you need to meet with a psychologist for this. Probably you can date and even marry Jaehyun by force, but do you think his heart will ever belong to you? Jaehyun wouldn't prefer someone with a vicious heart like you," Jinhee stated.

She then added, "A piece of advise. If you want him to like you, copy me; I'll be giving you lessons for me. After all, he loves me until now."

"Lee Jinhee, don't you think you're getting too ahead of yourself? Jaehyun Oppa will love me one day, and we will have a happy future together," Jinkyung said smugly.

Picking up her phone with her left hand, Jinhee held it in front of Lee Jinkyung, and wearing a smirk on her face, Jinhee voiced out, "With a phone call from me, the chance for that happy future will be completely ruined."
