Chapter 169 - Sniggered

Jinkyung's confession met with silence, and Lee Jinhee sniggered at that. Embarrassment coloured Jinkyung's cheeks red, and not wasting a second, Jinhee burst out into fits of laughter. Lee Jinkyung's facial expression was extremely funny at this moment.

Jinkyung immediately hung up the call, and her eyes turned to glare at Jinhee. Because of Lee Jinhee, Jinkyung had to meet with such humiliation.

"You're recklessness is to be blamed for this as well," The voice in her head commented.

"My phone?" Jinhee raised one of her eyebrows.

Jinkyung placed the phone down on the table with a loud sound, and picking up her phone from the table, Jinhee found herself being relieved when there was no scratch on her phone.

"When will you be going home, Jinkyung? I'm sure I made it clear that I won't be returning to your house with you," Jinhee voiced out.

Supporting herself on her crutch, Lee Jinhee stood up. Jinhee winced when she put force on her right hand, and bearing through the pain, Jinhee turned her back on Lee Jinkyung. Lee Jinkyung's eyes glowered at Jinhee as Jinhee walked towards the door in a cheerful manner.

Holding the knob, Jinhee turned her head back and voiced out, "This is not the first time you're being embarrassed by me, and if you don't quit with your actions now, it surely won't be the last time."

Jinhee shut the door behind her as she walked away. A smile formed on her face as Lee Jinhee leaned against the door. Her luck was extremely good in this life of hers.

"Heol! Jinhee-ah, you're amazing!" Han Taehyun exclaimed all of a sudden.

Seeing the brown haired boy and hearing his voice so suddenly startled Lee Jinhee. Her heart began beating faster, and putting his right hand on top of it, Jinhee tried to calm down her heart.

"Can you not pop up so suddenly? One of these days, I'm going to get a heart attack because of—"

Before Jinhee could continue, Taehyun interrupted, "How handsome I am? Don't worry. You are not the first one."

"Can you tone it down with your narcissism? Others would easily laugh at you," Jinhee retorted.

"I am pleased to serve as others' source of enjoyment. Someone like you must be embarrassed since you bore others," Taehyun stated whilst flipping his long hair.

Jinhee rolled her eyes at him.

"Says the one who desperately wants to talk to me," Jinhee voiced out.

"Since you're alone and friendless, I pitied you and decided to befriend you. Never knew you would be this heartless in the beginning. Nonetheless, I'm not the one to abandon others just because they are deficient of a heart," Taehyun vocalised.

"Doesn't it hurt though? You standing like this? You should go and sit in the next room," Taehyun spoke out— concerned noticeable in her tone.

'Han Taehyun changes his tone like a professional.'

Her right leg and wrist were starting to hurt, and Jinhee herself was not aware of how long she would be able to keep standing. Therefore, nodding, she walked towards the next room.

Han Taehyun placed his arm around Jinhee's shoulder and tried to support her so that the burden will be less on her right wrist. His actions made a small smile form on her face.

Opening the door to the room, Jinhee walked into the room and sat upon the couch. Han Taehyun sat down opposite to Lee Jinhee, and between them was a glass table.

"Did you notice something, Little Squirrel? You have stopped with that silent treatment of yours," Taehyun voiced out with a cheeky smile on his face.

Realizing that, Jinhee somewhat felt embarrassed, and turning towards Han Taehyun, she questioned, "Do you want to go through that again?"

"You're lucky that I love you," Taehyun said after chuckling.

"Really? Why do I find myself being unfortunate?" Jinhee asked whilst putting on a confused expression.

Taehyun pulled at Jinhee's cheeks softly, causing her to look at him with a bored expression, and spoke out, "That's because you haven't accepted me yet. Once you accept me, you'll find yourself accessing to maximum luck."

"How can I be certain about that?" Jinhee asked— arching her eyebrows.

"Receive a kiss from me, and you can see some of its effect," Taehyun vocalised.

"I think I'll pass because I'm immediately going to throw up after that," Jinhee retorted.

"You can't judge something without having a taste of it. That's not fair," Taehyun said.

"You're right. I should kiss all the dudes out there and check which one I prefer the most. It won't be fair if I only kiss you after all."

Jinhee stuck her tongue out at Han Taehyun playfully. Letting out a chuckle, Han Taehyun pinched at Jinhee's nose, leading for her to scrunch up her nose.

"You win, alright?"

°°°

Lee Jinkyung sat on the couch, and agitation could be clearly seen on her face. She gripped tightly on to the phone in her hand, and creases formed between two of her eyebrows.

She was not give up that easily.

Picking up the phone, Jinkyung attempted to call Han Taeho. However, she got the same reply repeatedly; His phone was switched off. Lee Jinkyung let out a frustrated groan.

"Why can't that sorry excuse of man be there always when I need him? He is completely useless!" Jinkyung mumbled to herself.

That's when, a number caught her eyes, and Jinkyung's lips curved up to a smile. Clicking on that number, Jinkyung made a call to that number, and after few seconds of ringing, the call was picked up.

"Youngmi-ssi," Jinkyung spoke out, "I have some unfortunate news to give to you."

°°°

Kwon Youngmi sat down on the couch after she had received the call from Lee Jinkyung, and crossing her legs, she placed her phone close to her ear. Waving her hand, she dismissed all the maids in the room.

"What is it, Jinkyung?" Youngmi questioned.

Lee Jinkyung contacted her about a month ago with few of the pictures of Kim Jaehyun and Lee Jinhee being close together. This was enough to anger Kwon Youngmi and stimulate her. Youngmi still remembered the first time she was contacted by her.
