Lee Yeonwoo turned back to look at Jinhee, and her eyes glowered at Jinhee. Her eyes showed distress as she walked towards Jinhee. Jinhee just stared at Yeonwoo whilst smiling towards her.
As Yeonwoo stood in front of Jinhee, she vocalised, "How can you be this cruel? I did it! Everything is my fault! So why are you punishing others instead of me?! My father did not do anything to you!"
Lee Jinhee shrugged and voiced out, "Since I have received this power, I want to try abusing it. Too bad, you're the victim here. Since you want to lie, I want to try abusing my power as well."
Yeonwoo pleaded, "Please don't harm my father. I beg you. Please. I am willing to take any charges you will be pressing on me, so please don't do anything to him or his business. I am sorry; I am really sorry. Please don't do anything to my father."
Lee Jinhee let out a chuckle and asked, "What will your father get a heart attack about— when he loses his business or gets to know all that his daughter did? Will he be alright when he finds his business intact and his daughter ruined? Which is more important to your father?"
Jinhee then added, "Think hard about it, Yeonwoo-ssi. It's not every time that the decision— which you think will go well— works out well. So, I want you to clearly think about it."
Lee Jinhee's words made tears flow down Yeonwoo's eyes, and her eyes stared at the ground. Thinking about how brokenhearted her father would be, Yeonwoo started to have wavering thoughts. She knew that she mattered more to her father than her business.
Wiping away the tears from the corner of her eyes, Yeonwoo vocalised, "Then, will you be protecting my father's business?"
Lee Jinhee nodded and said, "If it has the potential, then Taeho might consider lending the business a hand."
Yeonwoo sighed and voiced out, "Lee Jinkyung, your sister, ordered me to do this."
"Jinkyung?" Jinhee asked.
Jinhee then continued, "Why would she order you to plot against Hyunbin though? The two of them have no relationship."
Lee Yeonwoo shook her head and voiced out, "Her target was not Hyunbin; You're the target, Miss Jinhee. However, you did not climb the stairs first; It was Hyunbin who did."
"How can I trust your words, Yeonwoo-ssi?" Lee Jinhee asked.
Jinhee then added, "I can not just believe your words without any proof."
Yeonwoo answered, "I-I have proof. Since I wanted to be careful, I recorded everything. You can hear it. I'll go and bring my phone."
°°°
Sitting down in the car, Lee Jinhee let out a heavy breath and then laughed. Jinhee then voiced out, "I am not even surprised that Jinkyung was behind it. Jinkyung really hates me this much.
Sometimes, I am curious though. What did I do to earn this much hatred from her? It doesn't bother me now, although at a certain time during my life, I found myself being depressed over it."
Closing the door beside him, Taehyun pulled Jinhee's cheeks and vocalised, "It is because you're this adorable. She is just jealous of you, so you don't have to think so hard about it."
Lee Jinhee laughed and said, "Although I don't know what she is jealous of, I like this reason. It makes me feel more confident and happier."
"It's good to see that you're happier now, Jinhee-ah. Shall we go somewhere to have fun before we return home?" Taehyun voiced out as the driver started driving the car.
"Fun?" Jinhee raised one of her eyebrows.
Taehyun nodded.
"Well, your definition of fun and mine don't match. So, let's just return home."
"Aish! Jinhee-ah, we are really going somewhere fun, and your answer doesn't actually matter. Ahjusshi, we will be going to my favourite mall," Taehyun voiced out.
"You want to do shopping at this moment?" Jinhee questioned.
"Aish! Jinhee-ah, not shopping! We will be visiting the arcade."
"Arcade?"
°°°
Stepping into the arcade, Lee Jinhee stared at all the gaming equipment around her and noticed that there was not a single soul around them expect her and Taehyun.
"Did you actually book the entire arcade, Taehyun?" Lee Jinhee asked as her eyes widened in disbelief. Han Taehyun was truly wasteful!
"I wanted to have some alone time with my little squirrel," Taehyun vocalised.
"That 'little squirrel' of yours is at the border between cringy and creepy. Change it, alright? I would like you better if you call me by my real name," Jinhee vocalised.
"I can't hear anything, My Little Squirrel," Taehyun voiced out whilst inserting his fingers into his ears in order to block the noise.
Lee Jinhee scoffed at how unbelievable the man in front of her was being; She held in her urge to pull his ear and shout about how she preferred to be called by her real name.
Han Taehyun clapped his hands together and voiced out, "Let's get started with the games then, Jinhee-ah! Which one do you want to go for first?"
"Which one can I beat you at?" Lee Jinhee questioned.
Jinhee then added, "You look to be someone who plays arcade games a lot, and I don't want to lose face that easily."
"Let's see," Taehyun voiced out whilst tapping his chin with his index finger and looking as if he was thinking of something.
Lee Jinhee stared at him with hope.
Taehyun brought his face closer to Jinhee, and smiling at her, he said, "There are none you can beat me at. I am a professional player in all of these games here, so beating me is not possible for you."
Lee Jinhee found Han Taehyun annoying at that instant, and with her index finger, she tried to push his face away from her.
Extending and raising his hand, Taehyun patted Jinhee's head and voiced out, "Jinhee-ah, I brought you here to have fun. So, don't think too hard and just enjoy yourself! Alright?"
Jinhee scoffed.
"I would be made fun of for days if I lost," Jinhee mumbled.
Taehyun laughed and vocalised, "Ah! Jinhee-ah, sometimes you know me really well! Good job!"
