Chapter 306 - Flooding

Opening her eyes, Lee Jinhee wore a small smile on her face. All of the memories of her past life were slowly coming back to her. She vividly recalled how she had pranked Jinkyung with Han Taehyun.

In her last life, it seemed that Han Taehyun played the same role as he did in this life of hers. Even though she did not remember all of the memories, she had an ominous feeling regarding the rest of it.

Everything ended in tragedy in her last life, and she was curious as to how things turned out that event.

Staring at the Old Man in front of her, she vocalised, "I want to know how things went after that."

"Are you sure you are ready for that? Things went horribly after that, and you will be scared if you get to know," the Old Man stated.

"I will be fine. Regardless of how bad it is, I know that I will be able to deal with it, and since I know that I was given another chance, it would not be having that much of an impact on me. I have to be strong," Jinhee said with a determined voice.

"I am really proud of you," the Old Man said, "Remember that things you will be shown now are extremely disturbing, and it might even have a horribly negative psychological effect on you. I will start with the milder ones in the beginning."

Hearing the tone the Old Man used, Lee Jinhee had her heart beating rapidly within her chest, and she was getting anxious. A part of her was starting to reconsider her decision.

She was starting to grow frightened, and thinking about all the possibilities was capable of causing a shudder to go down her back.

'No, Jinhee, no. Things can not be that bad, and even if they become that bad, I know that you will be able to bear them. You are not weak. You are really strong, Jinhee, and it is time for you to show that. You can't be backing away from them.'

That was when a sharp pain went through her head, and letting out a groan, she closed her eyes. She was aware that it was time for her to gain back her memories.

°°°

"Han Taehyun, did you call me here? Where are you now?" she questioned as she looked around the place.

She received a message from Han Taehyun telling her to come to this room in the palace. This side of the palace of the mansion was secluded and rarely anyone came here.

Han Taehyun and she were about to plan some matters, and earlier a eunuch came up to her, informing her of how he wanted to discuss some matters with her here.

Dust was present inside the room, and she could see the spider webs around the corners. The temperature was rapidly decreasing , and as Lee Jinhee was not covered in a thick layer of clothing, she found herself shivering due to the temperature.

Raising her hand, she rubbed her arms with her palms, just then she heard the door close. Looking towards the door, her eyes widened when she heard sounds of someone locking the door from the behind.

Instantly, she made hurried steps towards the door and began to knock her hand on the door frantically. The temperature around her was extremely low, and Jinhee could not bear to stay in this room much longer.

"Open the door! I am inside the room! Help me! Please help me!" she yelled for help.

However, there was no response to her calls for help, and after a while, Jinhee found her throat getting dry. Afraid that she will be thirsty for water if this was carried on, she decided to stop screaming.

Leaning against the door, she sat down and closed her eyes whilst praying for someone to come to her rescue. Either Taehyun or Jaehyun were bound to notice her absence sooner or later, and they would come to rescue her.

Taking in a deep breath, Jinhee rubbed her arms continuously. It was too cold, and she stood up in that moment. Inside the room, it was better for her to search for something that would be capable of keeping her warm unless or until she wanted to be frozen to death.

Rushing across the room, she tried to search for a piece of clothing that could keep her warm. However, she did not find anything particularly thick.

Finding some pieces of fabric, she wrapped them around her body, and returned to the door, she sat down, leaning against it. Placing her ear by the door, she tried to listen for sounds of someone approaching them in anticipation.

Even though she had a few more layers of clothing around her, it would soon be night time, and the temperature would be further decreasing. This fabric would not be enough to protect her. Her feet were already ice-cold.

°°°

Lee Jinhee had no clue how much time had passed since she had been locked inside that room, and slowly, she found her consciousness fading.

It was extremely cold inside the room, and it was starting to get unbearable for her. Her head was starting to get dizzy, and her body trembled due to intensity of the cold.

There were no sounds of other people arriving here, and even though she was fighting hard to not give up, it was starting to get difficult for her. Jinhee was starting to consider falling asleep at that moment.

Maybe things would be better for her if she slept for a little while, and wearing a soft smile on her face, she closed her eyes. She was not in her right mind, and all she craved for a moment of peace. She did not want to suffer due to the cold any longer.

That's when she heard someone calling for her name, and she found that funny. Thinking of it as her hallucination, she wandered off to Dreamland.
