“Sir Zephyrus? Could I have a moment?”

“Hmm? What is it Celestin?”

This morning Celestin had come to the guild room. It seemed as though he had something he wanted to say to me.

“Actually I wanted to make a suggestion to help improve management of the guild funds.”

Fund management was an area that I was having a hard time with. In the game all of the money earned and products made by the guild belonged to the player character. However in real life I can’t just monopolize all the money and items. Up until now it had all been divided between us while some items had been donated to the guild.

This system works in the setting of a party but as the guild grows bigger we can’t keep dividing the loot between everyone so it’s a system that will have to change eventually. However while I might be extremely knowledgeable about the game, real life isn’t as easy.

“If it’s alright with you, would you mind leaving this issue to me?”

“Hmm? What do you mean?”

“I have a few ideas about how to improve it.”

Celestin handed over a couple documents with a smile. He was this prepared? Wondering how avoided procrastination I took the documents from him and looked them over. It looked like he was taking it very seriously. Various ideas were laid out on the paperwork, in the came there weren’t any accounting methods that were laid out in detail like this. Since I don’t really understand, maybe I should just leave it to an expert after all? For the first time I realized that I don’t have to do this all on my own.

“How did you prepare this in only a day? This is amazing, Celestin!”

“I’m honored.”

I was seriously impressed, Celestin had the makings of a proficient accountant.

“Alright, I’ve decided. Even though we’re currently only an F rank guild we are aiming for S rank. So moving forward we will adopt this plan.”

To be honest, I know nothing about managing accounts so I decided to hire someone and leave it to an expert.

“Understood. When are you going to hire them?”

“Once we reach D rank. Until then I would like to leave it to you Celestin. Is that okay?”

We can’t afford to hire anyone to do the accounts until we reach at least D rank so we have no choice but to do it ourselves until then. I left it for Celestin to handle.

“Understood, please leave it to me. I think the third document would be the best choice regarding the management of funds.”

“This?”

I read the document that Celestin had mentioned.

“Combatants put 50% of their total income into the guild and divide the rest equally among the party. Drops that are not sold are to be guild property and lent out to members. You may purchase these items from the guild if you want to keep them as your personal property after consulting with the other members.”

The document was quite long but that was the gist of it. I wonder if there are any exceptions? Regarding production jobs they have the right to take and use materials and have a production quota. I don’t have time to go over this all right now, the part governing the production jobs is very complicated.

Did Celestin really prepare all of this since yesterday? What kind of abilities does this guy have? A butler shouldn’t be this proficient with paperwork. However as far as I can tell there doesn’t seem to be a problem with the document. There is an rule that prohibits the guild from using items that were purchased with you personal funds, oh theres even an exception here about the stuffed animals.

“Good morning Zephyrus!”

“Good morning Zephyrus, Celestin.”

Rana and Ester came in with Ciara following behind them.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning, your highness Lady Rana, Lady Ester, and Lady Ciara.”

“Morning. What are you two up to?”

“I’m consulting with Celestin about the guilds operation.”

Ciara asked as she approached so I showed her the documents.

“I see, it’s true that since we were all just one party up until now that previous method was alright but it’s better to change it moving forward.”

“You’re going to hire an accountant?”

When Ciara nodded her approval Rana leaned her big head in and asked.

I talked about this a little earlier I think once we reach D rank I will hire someone but until then our guild and budget is quite small so we should manage it ourselves.

“If that’s the case then I don’t mind helping. I don’t know if Celestin would be able to take care of it all by himself.”

Ciara offered as she flipped through the documents.

“Thank you for your concern Lady Ciara.”

In the discussion that followed we decided on the plan moving forward and named Celestin the main fund manager and gave him Ciara to help assist him where he needed it. I’m glad we have such an amazing butler.
