Now that I am level 40 my third stage is released as well. There were a total of 25 skills to choose from but you have to be careful. When you first unlock the third stage you can accidentally shoot yourself in the knee by getting a skill and leveling it up too much. Of course it will hit hard but it will also consume a large chunk of your MP every time it’s used. So the idea is to unlock the skills but to not actually level them up until you level up yourself and your MP increases so that you can make better use of a leveled up skill.

Super reaction is an automatic reaction skill that avoids surprise attacks. It’s passive but it’s useless unless intuition is leveled up.
Now onto the attack skills. Hayabusa strike is a quick strike that attacks twice. It’s a very useful skill when you’re trying to stack attacks on a downed opponent. Lightning slash is exactly how it sounds. It is a slash with the lightning element and is highly effective against ghost type monsters. Attribute sword is an active skill that coats your sword in one of four types of attributes. Fire, Ice, Light, or lightning.
Guard rush is a skill that allows you to attack three times in succession while also defending with your shield. When using this skill any damage that is dealt to you is greatly reduced and you cannot be knocked back.
Charisma is just an overall buff, it allows you to increase the attack of your allies while pulling more aggro. Although unlike appeal it consumes a large amount of MP. Meaning if I wanted to use it as an attack buff it would be much more efficient to just leave it to Rana but I got it just in case.
Now moving on to the magic. Lightning burst is a powerful ranged attack that is just one step up the ladder from Shine lighting. However it shoots out in a straight line instead of in a fan like shape like Shine lighting does. It is easier to avoid but it is much more powerful in comparison. Area healing is a continuous recovery magic that can be laid on the ground creating a space where your HP will continue to recover. This is just something that can be layered over Rana’s continuous healing to increase the amount of HP recovered.
Finally we have courage. This is a self buffing skill that can only be used once per fight. For 3 minutes everything but MP and HP is increased to 280%. This is probably the main reason that Hero is considered #1. As such the first priority is to get this up to at least level 5 where it will increase my stats to 220% and use it in conjunction with Hero’s Sword. I’m really excited to see the amount of damage that I will deal.
While I was thinking this the door to the Guild room opened.

Rana and the others managed to reach level 39 yesterday and are one step away from being level 40. As such it seems like they are a little more excited that normal. It looks like they want to head to the dungeon immediately and I’m happy to comply but before we go we must make an appropriate offering.
