The last guild to become E rank is the poisonous mushroom dungeon. It is a purple colored cave where poisonous mushrooms grow. Because of the terrain you can easily take accidental fall damage as well so you have to choose the path that you’re going to take carefully. Oh right, I also forgot to mention to everyone about the item that I commissioned with the guild funds. But I can just do that before we all head home.
“Poison! It’s poisonous! Everyone needs to proceed with caution and if you get poisoned you need to let me know straight away.”
Rana was doing her best to be reliable and it was almost soothing. I felt relieved hearing her say this but it was also very strange….
“If you step here you will get 5 points of damage. Rana and Hannah both have low HP so be careful not to step on too many or it could get dangerous for you rather quickly.”
Ester cautioned the rearguard, we upgraded Hannahs equipment but her HP is still at 90 so she should be a little careful. Rana however had an HP of around 200 so I’m honestly not that worried about her.
“This place reminds me of the ghost dungeon….”
Ciara looked like she was a little scared. The terrain does look a bit like the ghost dungeon so I decided that I better reassure her.
“You can relax. There are no ghosts in this dungeon.”
Ciara looked back at me when I said this. The relief could be seen on her face.
“But I heard that ghosts could appear here?”
“What, there are ghost monsters!?”
Ciara nearly panicked when Hannah spoke in such a serious tone.
“They’re a little different though.”
Some of the monsters that appear, like the one called ghost mushroom does absolutely look like a ghost. However it’s just the way it looks and is not actually a ghost at all.
“Oh, you scared me for a second.”
“Oh, it’s just a mushroom shaped monster.”
Ciara seemed to really hate ghosts but Hannah also didn’t seem to be too strong herself when they were mentioned.
“Now, near the traps there are also collection points where you can get poisonous materials but you have to be careful when collecting there. Give it a shot Hannah.”
I took a small bottle out of the item back for liquid storage then showed Hannah how to do it.
“This is awesome.”
“Don’t make anything with this yet. I’ve prepared a recipe for this that will help you develop a new way of fighting.”
Isn’t it normal for an alchemist to make bombs and poisons to fight with? I don’t know how it will end up working but it’s worth a shot.
“There’s a monster! Everyone prepare for battle!”
At Rana’s call everyone readied their weapons.
“Ma, ma, ma”
Rana had found a poisonous purple mushroom shaped monster. For some reason it was bipedal. Other than the poison effect it wasn’t actually all that strong.
“There’s only one. Is it even necessary to pull aggro? {Shield bash}.”
“Ma!?”
The poison mushroom let out a scream that seemed to be saying ‘seriously!?’ as Ester and I converged on it.
“Mama….”
Our first encounter with a monster was over in an instant.
“That was weak.”
“That’s because to enter into the upper tier dungeons you only have to be level 25.. We’re already level 40 so there’s no way that a single monster would even be a threat to us.”
Our levels can still be increased up to level 50 but the normal monsters won’t actually provide much experience. The bright side though is that the boss monster’s recommended challenge level is 35 so we should still be able to get a decent amount of experience from the boss even if the small fry monsters are basically not worth fighting.
