Chapter 80 - “I was being too clingy. I won’t be like that anymore.” (1)

Monday, June 15.

The scene between Luo Xiu and Zong Shiyi ended in the evening. The evening sky was very colorful and the setting sun the color of blood.

Geng Hongyu dismissed everyone and the afternoon’s work was finally concluded. All of the workers let out a sigh of relief and packed up to leave.

“Thank you so much for your hard work today, Mr. Luo.”

Zong Shiyi waited until most of the workers were gone before she made a special trip to greet Luo Xiu before heading over to the dressing room to have her makeup removed.

Luo Xiu accepted the a chilled towel handed to him by his little assistant and pressed it on his neck gently as he nodded casually, “Same to you, Miss Zong.”

Zong Shiyi hesitated a little and asked carefully, “Mr. Luo, I wonder if you might have some time tonight. I would like to take you to a restaurant in town. Is tonight a good time for you?”

“… …”

Luo Xiu’s fingers stopped and he turned around to look at her.

Under the gaze of those dark brown eyes with emotions that seemed both gentle and distant, Zong Shiyi couldn’t handle it for more than two seconds before she turned away and avoided his gaze.

Luo Xiu turned his head back casually and, as he wiped down his wrists with the towel, asked, “Is there something that you will like to say, Miss Zong?”

Zong Shiyi’s lips opened and shut. Her eyes darted around and there was a complicated look on her but she wasn’t able to get it out.

Luo Xiu didn’t turn around but he had a pretty good idea. “I am already pretty tired today, Miss Zhong. If you have something that you would like to talk about but don’t want to in front of others, come look for me tomorrow. I am not needed tomorrow and will be staying in my room all day.”

Zong Shiyi looked happy and nodded immediately. “Okay. Thank you, Mr. Luo.”

“… …”

After Zong Shiyi had walked away, Zhu Hanyu, who had voluntarily stepped away earlier, looked at her back and said dubiously, “What’s up with her, Brother Luo? Looking for you all of a sudden and looked like she wanted to profess her love to you but didn’t want to do it in the open.”

Luo Xiu gave him a look.

The little assistant was taken aback a little and said, “That look of yours is very hurtful.”

Luo Xiu, “What did I do?”

The little assistant went on to complain, “Your look earlier was filled with the contempt of looking at a grade school student!”

Luo Xiu thought about it for a little and nodded nonchalantly. “More or less. You are getting better finally.”

The little assistant, “? ? ?”

Filled with both sadness and anger, the little assistant asked, “What I said wasn’t wrong. Isn’t it obvious that Zong Shiyi wanted to profess her love for you but was too shy to do it in the public so she asked to be alone with you?”

“Can you please…”

Putting his gold-rimmed spectacles back on, Luo Xiu looked up slowly and coldly and gave him a smile that wasn’t quite a smile as he carried on to say, “think like an adult for once?”

The little assistant, “… …”

He was right. That was a look of contempt. QwQ

The little assistant asked again, “Well, then, can you tell me what she wanted to talk to you about? What was it that was so difficult to say out loud?”

“If she was coming to me, that she was after either resources or network.”

The little assistant was a little dumbfounded. “She isn’t an actress at your company. To be more precise, she isn’t even an actress of Dingke Media. You two don’t even work for the same company, so why would she…”

He finally recalled something and asked with a headache. “So you were right after all. There is no altruism in this circle, just benefits. Shoot! This whole time I had thought that Zong Shiyi was truly pure, friendly, and naïve like her image.”
