Chapter 105 - #The precious son was able to maintain his poor front.# (2)

A hint of smile flashed past Luo Xiu’s face and turned purposefully and said nonchalantly, “Go to the front desk and book two rooms for her and Miss Jiang of the screenwriting team. Put it on my tab.”

“You can’t do that!”

Gu Nian stopped Zhu Hanyu.

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes, “Why not? Are you worried that I am setting you up?”

“Of course not.”

“Why then?”

“Be-because a 4-star hotel is too much money for us little screenwriters,” said Gu Nian as she lowered her eyes.

“Didn’t I say I will pay for them?”

Gu Nian’s eyes curved and gave him a languid mean look, “That’s even worse!”

“And the reason of that being?”

“It -- -- it wasn’t easy for you to make money. This is your first job in 2 years. I’m sure you have just been receiving supplements from your agency this entire time.”

The more Gu Nian talked, the sadder she got. She slowly let go of her precious son’s hand. “There are such limited opportunities in this circle with so much uncertainties. You might need the money in the future.”

“… …”

Luo Xiu was at a loss.

This was probably the first time in his entire life that someone had worried about his livelihood.

Zhu Hanyu was beyond at a loss. He stared at Gu Nian blankly as though he was looking at an alien.

Luo Xiu recollected himself quickly and readjusted his emotions before Gu Nian looked back up.

Meeting the sadness in the girl’s eyes, Luo Xiu paused for a little before he lowered his eyes and smile. “I’m not like you. I am a single man. I don’t need so much money.”

Gu Nian didn’t hear the first half of what he had said. Looking solemnly, she said, “How could you say that? Have you bought a house yet?”

“… …?”

The single toughest problem in the 21st century that all young people must face when they became financial independent– naturally, Luo Xiu had never thought about it.

As far as the Luo sibling was concerned, the concept of “buying their own place” did not exist.

The little assistant recollected himself and finally couldn’t hold off anymore. He snickered and said, “Does our Brother Luo need to buy his own place? He has -- --”

“Single apartment provided by the agency.”

Luo Xiu interrupted the little assistant harmlessly at the perfect time.

The little assistant, “… … … …”

The little assistant, “? ? ?”

Exactly which company dare to have you stay at a single apartment? Were they trying to save money with their lives?

The little assistant felt very wronged.

The little assistant dared not make a peep.

Hearing that, Gu Nian’s heart ached even more. “You can’t stay in a single apartment. We are talking about just dozens of square meters, right? I’m sure the environment is not much to speak of as well!”

“It’s alright.”

Old Mother Gu continued to continue to try to talk some sense in to him. “You can’t stay in a single apartment for life. A young person must save up to buy their own place.”

“Is that a mandate?”

“Of course,” said Gu Nian very affirmatively. “This circle is unlike any other industry. It’s risky. Many rely on their youth for work. As such, they must save up enough capital when they are young so they can be prepared for their future risks.”

After she had finished saying that, something else occurred to Gu Nian, “Oh yeah, and then there’s the most important one.”

Luo Xiu looked up at her, “Hmm?”

Gu Nian looked up and looked at her 186-cm tall precious son and said to him in the most serious tone, “One’s overall qualification is very important to young girls nowadays. You will need to have your own house to be able to get married.”

“… …”

The smile coming from the deep end of the brown eyes smashed the faked emotions in the eyes and spilled out.

Luo Xiu couldn't help but reached out and rubbed the serious-looking “young girl” on her head.

“Alright.” His voice was low and tender. “I get it.”
