"Feng Xinying!" shouted Xie Yuansheng from behnd. "Where are you going?"
"I am going to walk back home. I am very very angry with you!" she marched off.
"I said I am sorry. This message has just delivered to my phone."
"No, I will not let this go mister!" she harrumphed again. She had a sinister look on her face. As she walked she saw that there were some people on that side of the street. Regardless of their odd stares, Feng Xinying stomped her foot and shouted, "You shouted at me, accused me, you don't trust me, so I have decided that no party will be held to announce our relationship. If there is no trust, there is no relationship. It is better that we don't stay in this marriage." She didn't stop and kept shouting at him as she walked.
"What?" sputtered Xie Yuansheng and ran after her like a maniac.
Now whatever few people were there on the street started looking at the couple who was fighting.
"Feng Xinying, don't say those words. I will get a heart attack!" Xie Yuansheng went ahead of her and started walking backwards. "This is a very small mistake. You must forgive me!"
"No, I didn't expect you to be so flimsy."
Next instant people around saw a man on his knees in front of his girl. He held his hands together as though praying his deity. "Darling, be considerate. You husband is foolish," he begged with his lips curled down.
Feng Xinying ignored his plea and walked around him, but Xie Yuansheng grabbed and hugged her thighs. "Darling, you can't leave your Romeo in this state, abandoned on the streets of China like a beggar."
People started laughing when they heard his plea. Feng Xinying looked at them and turned red out of embarrassment. She tried to move out of his grasp but once again her attempts were feeble.
"Leave me Xie Yuansheng!" she tried to move his shoulders. "I won't budge from my decision."
"No, I can't leave my deity," Xie Yuansheng became dramatic.
An old lady who was watching them pitied him, "Such a cute confession. You should be so rude to him girl. See, how cute he looks?"
Another one chimed in, "These days the girls are so harsh. The way they treat their men, it is abhorrent. If my husband did that for me, I would give him a month's massage for free."
Xie Yuansheng was actually looking for that kind of support. As soon as he heard them, he made a cute puppy face with puppy eyes and blinked at her several times. The tricked worked and he got more sympathy.
"You are really bad," this time a man spoke out. "My girlfriend is way cuter. Mister, you should stop begging her and find a new one."
Feng Xinying looked at that man with narrowed eyes. "Go away!" she shouted at him. The man left sheepishly. Then she looked at Xie Yuansheng and said, "Yuansheng, let me go!"
"No, you have to forgive me," he insisted.
Feng Xinying was so flabbergasted that she said, "Ok!"
Xie Yuansheng shook his head. "You have to take back you words about party." He shook her body in his grasp.
"Okay, okay! Now let me go."
Xie Yuansheng's face split in an ear to ear grin and the next moment he jumped on his feet. There was a loud applause from people who were watching them, and Xie Yuansheng bowed. Elegantly, he circled his hands around the shoulders of his queen and walked away with her.
"Xie Yuansheng, you are such a drama queen," remarked Feng Xinying slapping his hand.
Xie Yuansheng laughed heartily and started singing Bryan Adams song for her,
"Everything I do, I do it for you
Look into your heart
You will find
There's nothing there to hide
Take me as I am
Take my life
I would give it all
I would sacrifice
Don't tell me it's not worth fighting for
I can't help it, there's nothing I want more
You know it's true
Everything I do
I do it for you"
When he finished singing, an entranced Feng Xinying looked at him warmly and smiled. She took her hand to his face and was about to kiss him when a young girl came running to them with a basket of flowers. She took out a rose from there and said, "Mister, this is for your girl. Please buy it. It is only two Yuan."
Feng Xinying bit her lip as she saw the little girl. Xie Yuansheng smiled at the little girl and took out his wallet. He picked two hundred Yuan and gave them to her. Keep the change," he said. The girl ran away happily, shouting, "Mother, looook!"
Xie Yuansheng turned to his wife and presented her the rose under the moonlight that had spread on the street.
"A rose for my angel, my life and mother of my future kids."
Feng Xinying couldn't stop her laughter. She took the rose from him and smacked his head lightly with it. "Thank you," she said. "Now I want an ice cream."
