Chapter 3: I Will Love You Right

Seeing nothing wrong, Mo Lixin breathed a sigh of relief. That’s good. It was only a fruit that fell on the table. She went ahead and picked up the fallen fruit.

At the same time, she couldn’t help but walk to Ji Nanfeng’s bed while she held a complicated countenance.

His facial feature was otherworldly, over six’ foot tall and a lean body. She liked to design clothings and had gone to numerous fashion shows in the past. They were filled with many handsome men but none could match the man before her. His face was sculpted by the very heavens itself.

Mo Lixin, absorbed in her own thoughts soon fell asleep and she found herself sitting on the small bench resting beside the bed.

She can’t remember when was the last time she was ever this close to him… she could not remember… maybe it never happened.

Then, she fell into a state of a blissful dream. This feeling… this feeling was happiness… stolen happiness.

She hasn’t slept well for a while and she dreamt well, dreamt of something sweet.

A sweet aromatic scent lingered about and Ji Nanfeng’s eyes opened slowly.

He’d awoken from his slumber the moment Mo Lixin entered his room. He could have greeted her, but he did not have the courage to do so. So he pretended and could only let her look at him in this poor and painful state.

He looked at her longingly and watched her peaceful face doze off into serenity. Ji Nanfeng moved and pulled her to his bed and held her tight like she’d never escape from his embrace.

Only when it looked like she’d awaken did he loosen his grip.

She felt cold to the touch. Especially her hands and feet. It felt like a bucket of ice had been thrown to her. Ji Nanfeng was anxious. He thought of how he should pass on his body heat all to his wife.

“Lixin, why are you so silly…? I won’t… I will never hurt you again… I’m so sorry… I love you…” In the silent night, his hoarse and tired voice escaped from his lips followed by a long silence.

Sighing deeply, Ji Nanfeng inhaled her fragrant scent and pulled Mo Lixin close to his arms as he dozed to sleep.

… … …

After a good night’s sleep, Mo Lixin roused from slumber. Her eyes fluttered open and the first she saw was Ji Nanfeng’s beautiful eyebrows. But before she had the chance to gaze at his beauty, she heard a voice outside.

Unwillingly, she quickly got out of bed and tidied her appearance all too hurriedly.

How did she end up in his bed?

It’s fortunate no one knew of it.

Duan Anran opened the door and saw Mo Lixin’s figure.

Her brows tightened as she suddenly lashed out. “Why are you here?! Nanfeng was badly hurt because of you. What else do you want?! Hey, Mo Lixin, I’m looking at you! You have a thick face that I want to tear apart! You know, it’s really infuriating to look at!”

Duan Anran took a short glance at Ji Nanfeng.

Good. He isn’t awake yet. That’s good. It’d be even better if he wakes up first without seeing this woman.

Mo Lixin did not know what to say. She looked to Ji Nanfeng and a solemn expression could be seen. “I’ll go out right away.”

She did not wish for Ji Nanfeng to wake up so suddenly. If he saw her here, he’d only be unhappy.

But little did she know that Ji Nanfeng had already awoken.

Cough… cough…

A loud cough filled the hospice room.

Mo Lixin reacted faster than her brains could think. She immediately went to his bed and squatted down. “Are you alright? Do you feel uncomfortable? Unwell? I… I’ll go and call a doctor for you.”

“Nanfeng, it’s good you’re awake. Do you know how much I worried for you day and night?” Duan Anran looked as if she cried rain. It looked truly believable.
