Chapter 19: Sister-In-Law
It was Lu Xingyan’s turn to be surprised. He remembered fairly well how Ji Nanfeng was like. Despite his otherworldly figure, he hardly allowed women in his life but one… what was her name again? Duan Anran? Right, that was her name. He had the chance of meeting her once and immediately found her repulsive. She was a woman who was toxic and manipulative. But of course, he would not dare speak of his brother’s poor choice in women out loud.
But this girl before him, she was pure-hearted, clean from the stains of the world. She gave off an aura of simplicity. She was that kind of girl and Lu Xingyan immediately approved of her as his sister-in-law.
“Ah…! Why are you all standing here outside? I thought you’d all gone ahead and stood me up.” Gan Yunting walked out of the door and greeted Ji Nanfeng and the two others.
“Fourth Brother, long time no see!” Lu Xingyan looked over his shoulder and exclaimed excitedly.
“Brother, you’re back! You’re all too busy with life and I’m the only one with nothing to do!” Gan Yunting lamented.
Behind Ji Nanfeng stood Mo Lixin. She listened silently to the conversation of the three men and did not interrupt.
“Ah…? Isn’t this my little sister-in-law? You’re here too!” Gan Yunting bent his back and peeked a look at the innocent girl.
Mo Lixin was at a loss. Sister-in-law? She’d never seen the man before, but his voice was familiar.
“Come on, let’s go inside.” Ji Nanfeng held his wife’s hand and entered the club.
Mo Lixin looked around in wonder gaze. The club had a variety of entertainment facilities like the bowling room, billiards, and even a shooting room. She’d even seen a fighting ring, a sight which only further agitated her shock. She’d always been a good and pure-like child, never going to places, much less a bar and so when a tattooed man passed by her, she was afraid and she unconsciously leaned her body against Ji Nanfeng’s bosom.
“It’s alright. Don’t be afraid.” Ji Nanfeng smiled and placed his arms around her, holding her as if he knew how much her absence would break his heart.
The club was a mixture of many fish in the pond akin to a prey and crouching tigers, but in truth, it was a much better place than some underground club. Gan Yunting and his family owned the club and was cared for in the hands of Gan Yunting. It was for this reason that many dared not to cause any scruples
From Ji Nanfeng’s comfort that all would be alright, Mo Lixin felt safe.

The group walked down the stairs and turned several turns before reaching their destination.
The bottom section of the club was not as lively as before considering that it was a private room. Like the facilities above, the private room also had the same thing.
Mo Lixin believed the handsome men, her husband included, were going to play pool and she’d intended to sit and watch on the sofa. She could play, but she was bad and she had no interest in billiards –– but that also, she was content and happy. Ji Nanfeng took her out and introduced her to his friends.
“Won’t my sister-in-law play along?” Gan Yunting asked.
“Would you like to join us? I can teach you!” Ji Nanfeng wiped the pole and trotted over to Mo Lixin. He squatted down and looked at her with gentle eyes like she was the smile to his face and the beat to his heart.
“No, no, it’s okay. You have fun with them. I’ll just sit here and watch!” Not used to his loving gaze, Mo Lixin answered nervously.
Ji Nanfeng did not force. “Well, when you need anything, just call me.”
“Yes!” Mo Lixin replied.
Ji Nanfeng went back to his original position and played pool. Mo Lixin silently pulled out her mobile phone and indulged herself in movies.

“Third Brother, when did you get married?” Lu Xingyan asked curiously. The sudden revelation shocked him.
“We registered our marriage over 4 months ago.” Ji Nanfeng hit the billiard ball into the hall. He was not thinking about the game, but of what Lu Xingyan said.
During the wedding, on the day of their marriage was registered, the two families had a perfunctory meal. And that was it, and truth be told, it was no wedding so Ji Nanfeng decided he and Mo Lixin needed to have a proper wedding.
Calm as Lu Xinyan was, it was not the same for Gan Yunting.
“What did you say?! Over 4 months ago? Third Brother, your joke isn’t funny!” Gan Yunting looked at Ji Nanfeng in his eyes to look for a bluff, but it seemed he was not joking and all he said was the truth and nothing but the truth.
