Chapter 2: More than a thousand years apart, sharing the bed with Changle!
“I am Li Lizhi, the Princess Changle in the Tang Dynasty, and now I am...in the seventh year of the Zhenguan era!”
Li Lizhi also revealed her identity, hoping Xiao Ran would be wary, given her status as a princess.
“Princess Changle, Li Lizhi? Are you Princess Changle, Li Lizhi?” Xiao Ran was surprised and delighted!
I am afraid it is a fictional dynasty, but I don’t expect it to be from the Tang Dynasty.
The Tang hairstyle is different, but Li Lizhi’s current sleeping hairstyle is not. She just wears her hair loose. Only in sleepwear, Xiao Ran couldn’t recognize her. Xiao Ran would probably guess it was the Tang Dynasty if she wore clothes and groomed herself. The Tang costumes and hairstyles are distinctive and not found in other dynasties.
Seeing Xiao Ran’s reaction, Li Lizhi asked tentatively, “Do you know me?”
Xiao Ran nodded, “Princess Changle is known throughout the Tang Dynasty, but I haven’t met her.”
Li Lizhi gained confidence hearing that Xiao Ran knew her.
“You rascal, how dare you be disrespectful to the palace! Aren’t you afraid of my father’s punishment?” Li Lizhi, as a princess, asserted herself.
Xiao Ran was momentarily stunned. He thought this girl hadn’t figured out the situation!
“Princess Changle, right! I know you, but I’m not from the Tang Dynasty. Threatening me won’t work!” Xiao Ran looked fearless.
Puzzled, Li Lizhi couldn’t understand and asked, “What does this mean? I don’t understand.”
Xiao Ran explained, “Didn’t I just say? I am now in the year 2022!”
Li Lizhi looked puzzled, “What a strange way to call years.”
Better if she hasn’t!
Xiao Ran secured this soft meal!
“Your Highness, I don’t want to strive anymore!” Realizing the opportunity to hitch a ride.
Li Lizhi was puzzled, not grasping Xiao Ran’s intentions.
Alert, she warned, “I caution you, don’t play games. If anything happens to this princess, my father won’t spare you!”
Xiao Ran believed this – Princess Li Lizhi was the apple of Li Shimin and Empress Zhangsun’s eyes.
“I mean no harm. Keep this place a secret from others, including your royal parents,” Xiao Ran advised.
“Why?” Questioned Li Lizhi.
Xiao Ran, cautious of others’ bold ideas, explained, “I fear others may have audacious thoughts about this world. Ignorance is bliss. If Li Shimin becomes overly confident, he might do something reckless.”
“Are you scared?” Li Lizhi noticed Xiao Ran’s apprehension.
“Indeed, a bit.” Xiao Ran’s military background made him physically robust but not a match for an army.
“Then behave and be courteous to the palace,” she advised.
Xiao Ran addressed Princess Changle, “Keeping these secrets protects the current Tang Dynasty.”
“Tang Dynasty doesn’t need it!” Li Lizhi proudly spoke of the flourishing Tang Dynasty.
Xiao Ran agreed, “That’s not necessarily true!”
“As someone from over a thousand years in the future, you should understand how powerful the Tang Dynasty is now!” Li Lizhi asserted confidently.
