Chapter 3: The Agreement with Changle, the Common Secret!
Xiao Ran nodded in agreement, “I understand that the current Tang Dynasty is powerful in this era, with no neighboring country comparable to it.”
Li Lizhi nodded in satisfaction. Xiao Ran continued, “But I exist in this world after 1389!”
Li Lizhi seemed to realize something suddenly. Xiao Ran asked, “Your Highness, think about it: what would happen if the Tang Dynasty crossed to 1389?”
“Now it’s the seventh year of Chastity, 633 AD. If we go back 1389 years, that would be...756 BC,” Li Lizhi explained.
“In 756 BC, it was the Spring and Autumn Period!” Xiao Ran added. “Tang Dynasty’s current military and overall strength would be overwhelming in that era.”
Li Lizhi agreed, acknowledging the significant difference. “Tang Dynasty’s development in 2022 far surpasses what you can imagine, especially in weaponry.”
Concerned, Li Lizhi realized the potential danger of exposing this information. “Your Highness, we must keep this secret. It’s risky if others find out.”
Xiao Ran acknowledged his ordinary status and the need for secrecy. “I can’t afford to expose this. It won’t stay a secret.”
Li Lizhi understood and expressed her determination to keep the secret safe. “We must work together to protect this information. Let no one else know. It’s dangerous if they do.”
Questioning Xiao Ran’s trustworthiness, Li Lizhi asked, “How do I know I can trust you?”
Xiao Ran reassured her, “Revealing this won’t benefit me. I can’t afford it. But don’t think of resorting to violence. If something happens to me, it will be investigated.”
Li Lizhi had considered eliminating Xiao Ran for the Tang Dynasty’s safety but realized it might not be viable.
In the meantime, Xiao Ran, on the other side, was dressed lightly.
Li Lizhi, inside the quilt, asked, “Isn’t it cold on your side?”
Xiao Ran glanced at Li Lizhi in the quilt and smiled, “It’s cold outside, but not inside the room.”
Although there was no physical barrier between Xiao Ran’s bedroom and Li Lizhi’s, an invisible wall seemed to separate them. One side was warm, and the other was cold.
Especially for Li Lizhi, who had previously slept in Xiao Ran’s bed, now returning to her own, she found it hard to get warm.
The thought of crossing to another world made Xiao Ran lose sleep. He had intended to sleep in on the weekend, but the excitement kept him awake.
Xiao Ran’s mind focused on how to make money, particularly during Tang Dynasty.
Gold and silver were valuable everywhere, and Xiao Ran’s thoughts revolved around capitalizing on these resources.
...
“Your Royal Highness!”
Upon hearing the voice, Li Lizhi looked towards the door, where her maid, Yushu, was ready to assist with dressing.
“I will dress myself. Without the permission of this princess, no one is allowed to enter!” Li Lizhi’s firm voice made it clear.
“Yes, Your Royal Highness!” Yushu could only wait outside.
Li Lizhi glanced warily towards the bedroom, realizing that Xiao Ran was no longer there.
