Chapter 171: Escape!

"Hmm? Half-step sword will[1]?"

On the side, the black donkey held a piece of grass in its mouth as it watched Ling Feng. Seeing Ling Feng switch to a pitch-black longsword that emitted a trace of sword will, the donkey was secretly surprised.

"A mere Pulse Formation Realm kid actually comprehended the rudimentary form of sword will. If someone were to give him some guidance, he might soon comprehend true sword will. However, I won't give him any pointers, hmph!"

The black donkey was once the Tianbai Emperor's spirit pet, so its insight naturally wasn't lacking. It rolled its mischievous eyes around, taking glances at Ling Feng's Eradicator of Realms with unknown mischievous thoughts in mind.

One day, two days...

After a full five days, Ling Feng sheathed his sword and stood still, slowly exhaling his turbid breath.

After a total of eight days, Ling Feng finally fully adapted to the Primordial Lock. He could even unleash the Scorching Sky Blaze, a deadly sword technique, under the intense pressure.

If the Primordial Lock was undone now, it would definitely unleash terrifying power.

"It's time to leave."

Ling Feng clenched his fists, a cold light flashing in his eyes. The Third Elder of the Jia Family had driven him to a dead end, but unwittingly created an opportunity for him.

"Hey, kid, that move you've been practicing back and forth for the last few days, it's got a little something to it." The black donkey, seeing that Ling Feng had finally stopped practicing his swordsmanship, immediately stood up on its hind legs and dashed to Ling Feng's side, afraid that Ling Feng might slip away quietly.

"Do you have any advice?" Ling Feng glanced at the black donkey and rolled his eyes.

"Hehe, how about this. Call me master and I'll teach you a few tricks, guaranteeing that you'll become the number one expert in the world!" The black donkey crossed its front hooves over its chest, with an animated expression on its face.

"Cut it out." Ling Feng wouldn't fall for it. He turned around and walked towards the lake, saying casually, "Black Donkey, I'm ready to leave now. Follow along."

"That’s ‘Lord Divine Donkey’ to you!"

The black donkey protested discontentedly, but still obediently followed along. If it missed this opportunity, even the Lord Divine Donkey might never get out.

Splash!

Splashes of water flew as one person, one donkey, along with a pocket-sized stone figure tucked in Ling Feng's arms, once again jumped into the lake and quickly sank to the bottom.

However, this time, Ling Feng became the guide. When they reached the entrance of the cave, the black donkey frowned and said with a disdainful expression, "Brat, hand over the passage token to me. Otherwise, I won't be able to enter."

"You just follow me!" Ling Feng glanced back at the black donkey, clearly aware of its little scheme. It seemed the creature still wanted to snatch his passage token.

Ling Feng shook his head, took out the token, and the barrier in front of him naturally dispersed. He strode into the cave, while the black donkey lifted its hooves, glared fiercely at Ling Feng's back, and then followed after him.

So, he stayed outside the Misty Ghost Forest, waiting for over a dozen days. When he saw that Ling Feng indeed didn't come out again, his heart calmed down a bit.

"It seems there's no need to stay here any longer."

The third elder stood up from beside the campfire, flicked his sleeves, and prepared to head back to the Jia Family Mansion.

At that moment, the third elder suddenly saw a white light shooting up into the sky from within the Misty Ghost Forest, followed by a roaring sound echoing in the air.

"Hahaha! I, the unparalleled and supreme Lord Divine Donkey, have finally escaped from the jaws of death!"

Swoosh!

A black figure darted out from the white light, then swiftly maneuvered and leaped wildly through the mountain forest.

This black figure was obviously the black donkey. Upon seeing the black donkey breaking free, Ling Feng immediately shouted, "You despicable donkey, get back here!"

The black donkey, upon hearing Ling Feng's voice, shook its tail and covered its ears with its front hooves, loudly shouting, "I didn't hear anything, I didn't hear anything!"

While shouting, it stepped into the void and vanished into thin air in a puff of smoke!

"Darn it! That damn, despicable donkey!"

Ling Feng couldn't believe that the black donkey was still playing these kinds of word games with him.

He had laid down three simple rules for it to follow, expecting it to obediently comply. But as soon as it came out, it slipped away. Now, without it under his nose, he couldn't even give it commands.

Ling Feng frowned. He had been outsmarted by the black donkey. He realized he should have established a spirit animal blood pact with it from the beginning!

"W-What’s going on?"

The third elder didn't notice the black donkey because all of his attention was on Ling Feng emerging unscathed from the Misty Ghost Forest. Unable to believe his eyes, he pinched his thigh to confirm that he wasn't dreaming.

"How is that possible? How could he have survived?"

The third elder shook his head in disbelief repeatedly. The worrying event that had been on his mind finally happened!

"What’s wrong? Are you disappointed that I'm not dead?"

Ling Feng's figure suddenly appeared next to the third elder, wielding a black broken sword in hand while exuding a chilling aura that was firmly locked onto the third elder.

1. The term ‘sword will’ is used when one has reached a realm of swordsmanship when their sword starts to have a will of their own ☜
