781 Intercepting the Phone
President Tan walked toward her and looked over at Yao Tang’s wound. It seemed that her fingers had already recovered, but how? He furrowed his eyebrows.
If it wasn’t for the dried coating of blood around her fingertips, he wouldn’t have guessed that she had been injured. “Are you really okay?” he asked again.
“I’m fine, don’t worry,” she repeated.
Then, she flashed a smile at the older man. “I stopped playing with this type of poison when I was five years old. When you try to kill me next time, try not to use poisons I already know,” she mocked.
However, Elder Nie didn’t care, or he didn’t even bother to listen.
He continued staring at her, aghast.
How could she be fine?
The poison he had gotten was one of the most powerful poisons they had. Just one cut could kill an elephant! What it could do to a small girl like Yao Tang was even more horrifying. He gritted his teeth.
He had obtained the poison from a well-connected family. Not only was it dangerous, but it was also extremely expensive.
No matter where they looked, there was no antidote for the poison. As soon as it entered the stomach, its internal organs would begin to corrode.
That was his secret weapon, it had always been—the poison between his teeth.
It was a technique he had developed in time, as it was a way to ensure that no one could get hurt by mistake. The container was designed to only be opened by his teeth.
As soon as he shot the blade toward her, the container would only apply the poison by then.
Every move was intentional when it came to the poison.
It was this poison that had helped him get rid of so many people. The countless experts he had maimed all died in his hands, and the two elders he had captured also faced the same fate. The corners of his lips pulled down.
He had already witnessed the power of this poison.
But how could it not have worked on Yao Tang?
He stared at her fingertips.
It was as if the girl hadn’t even been poisoned!
Elder Nie recalled the recent events that had transpired. As he was laughing, the girl was only staring right at him. She didn’t take any medicine or performed any treatment. No, she just stood there.
Could it be that she was using another method to hold off the poison?
That would be the most reasonable guess, right?
Perhaps a secret technique existed where she could seal the poison around her finger. It was possible for her to pretend that nothing had happened.
But even if it was sealed, her fingertips should’ve darkened by now, right?
Elder Nie forced himself to sit up as he sized up the girl before him. However, no matter how much he looked at her, he still didn’t see any signs of the poison acting up.
Just what was going on?
Could it be that his poison really didn’t work?
When he thought of this, his heart stirred in his chest.
“Look at his phone!”
Yao Tang couldn’t really care less about what Elder Nie was thinking. Instead, she turned to her two companions. “Search him down.”
Tan Jian’s eyes brightened.
“That’s right!” He stepped in Elder Nie’s direction.
Right now, all their phones had no signal. If they could obtain Elder Nie’s phone, then they might be able to know the secrets being hidden by the Green Cloud Pavilion. They would also know who he was trying to contact.
They’d also be able to find the spy!
He didn’t even bother to wait any longer as he pressed his palms all over Elder Nie’s coat, beginning his search.
Naturally, Elder Nie tried pushing him back. Using this sliver of time, he grabbed his phone from his pockets and smashed it from the side. “Let’s see you look at it now,” he snarled.
“Wait—”
However, his speed was unparalleled by anyone else. What he didn’t expect was for President Tan to control the phone from his direction. Even as he waved his fist, he saw that the phone was perfectly normal.
There was no damage at all!
He paled.
However, he wasn’t all that worried. It’s not like they were capable of opening his phone. Being the Great Elder of the Green Cloud Pavilion, his mobile phone was naturally very well-protected. Ordinary people wouldn’t be able to open it without the passwords.
Unless, of course, if they were a hacker.
“The phone.”
Tan Jian passed the phone over to Yao Tang.
However, as she turned it on, she saw that there was a password.
“What’s the password?” Tan Jian demanded.
