Chapter 217 - Are You Single Or Married?

' I wonder what is the truth behind their relationship? Is she really his assistant or his mistress? I know he's not married, could she be a girlfriend then? Hmmm.' Celia thought as she sat and wait for the interview to begin.

"Good morning to you too, Mrs. Hoshi." Ashley greeted back, while Tanaga just sat there looking at Celia's folder.

Tanaga whispered at Ashley something, and she smiles timidly. Ashley was sitting right next to Tanaga the whole time he had been doing the interview.

All the other employees before Celia thought it was a regular occurrence, but not for her. - She could sense that there's more to them than what they could see.

This makes Celia much more uncomfortable and unsure of what to say or do. She wasn't sure how she should react in front of them.

As the two people in front of her preparing, she was in deep thought and all kinds of things running around her mind as she secretly peeked at them.

'What is the relationship between them? Maybe she's his mistress! The way he was looking at her is like. - He so tender and very attentive,' Celia thought as she watched Ashley waited for Tanaga to begin the interview.

However, Tanaga, for a moment, grabbed his wife's arms and caressed it to calm her down.

He then hands over the paper he uses as an example of the questions for Ashley to use as a guideline in her interview. 

"Here, I want you to read this and use it. You do the interview." He whispered to her before giving her a lite kiss under her earlobe.

Ashley read it for a while to figure it out and make sure she master it before she began her work.

While Ashley was reading, Tanaga just stared at his wife with a small smile on his lips as he watched as she read it thoroughly. 

It wasn't long before Ashley finished reading the paper, and she motioned to Tanaga to give her guidance on what to do.

But before she could start her interview, she approached her husband and whispered something.

"Tan, I have no problem with your questions. I just have something to ask if I can." Ashley said as she looked serious and didn't smile while looking straight at her husband.

She forgot that she was supposed to be Tanaga's assistant in front of employees.

Therefore, Celia who was waiting for the interview to begin realizes that what she thought earlier could be true. The question remains, is what kind of relationship, girlfriend, or mistress?

Nonetheless, it doesn't matter to Celia because what matters to her is what she does for the company and not who she could kiss ass to increase her position in the company.

"Do what you want. I only gave you a list of possible questions that you can use, but that doesn't mean you have to use it. It's your call, I don't care. You know the reason why we are here and that's all that's matters.

"I'm only curious as to what's going on with the company and why we are losing money when the business is busy. You have the power, dear" Tanaga whispered back Ashley while lightly kissing her earlobe, unknowingly in the eyes of Ceila.

Ashley smiled at what the husband did. Fortunately, her hand did not fly again to strike him like she usually does. 

"Thank you!" Ashley smiled sweetly.

There was nothing Tanaga could do but smile back his wife before responding. 

"For you, anything!" He whispered back before leaning back ready to listen once Ashley began her interview.

"That's settled then, let me ask her what I want, all right? Your question is too generic, and I want to know more about their operation and learn if I can." Ashley said loud and clear this time, so Celia could hear every word said.

Tanaga just nodded, signifying that he was willing to do what Ashley wanted to do.

Ashley was excited that she would be doing the interview because when she found out that Celia was Filipina, she hoped that she was kind and would help her with her plans. She wanted to learn the in's and out of the purchasing department. Thinking that she would be able to help Tanaga in the long run. 

Ashley was thinking that if she could learn as much as she could while they were in America. Who knows that maybe someday, when the time comes and she goes back to the Philippines, she could open a branch and manage it.

Another thing was, she wanted to learn everything that Tanaga does, and hoping that she could be of help to him in the future in running THJ Group. That's just a thought though and who knows what would happen in the future.

'Here goes nothing!' Ashley thought before she faced Celia and started the interview.

"I'm sorry! Anyway, I will interview you in Tagalog, and I hope you don't mind. My English is ok. But I can say more and ask more carefully about what I want to know. Our conversation will be better if we speak our language. That is, - if you still know how to speak Tagalog?"

"Yes, ma'am Ashley, even though I have been here in America for a while now. I will never forget our language. Just be patient if my answer is sometimes mixed with English, only because I'm so used to it. But I understand all of our languages." Celia explains before they start.

Ashley suddenly remembered Sato sitting and taking notes of Tanaga's interview. She decided to give him a break while she's doing Celia's interview. 

"Excuse me for a moment." Ashley got up and approached Sato.

"Why don't you take a break first, I know you're tired too. I'll just call you when we're done. Ok!"

Sato, on the other hand, was delighted to be able to take a break and visit with the two 'Japanese' superintendents. Therefore, when Ashley told him to take a break first, he left as fast as his feet would take him.

"All right! Call me when you need me." Sato told Ashley and Tanaga as he stepped outside the office. Once he was gone, Ashley began her interviewing Celia.

"Celia, if you don't mind me asking, are you single or married?" Asked Ashley straight away without batting an eye.

Celia smiled at her before answering. "I don't mind, I'm married." Was Celia's response.

"Thanks, Celia, I hope you don't mind me calling you by your first name. The first thing I want to know is if you enjoy your work? If not, can you tell me why?" Ashley asked professionally.

Celia did not hesitate to express how she felt about working for THJ Group. "The fact is, I'm happy with what I'm doing and I love my work. 

My only problem is that our President and my other colleagues are abusing their power because the owner is not here." She did not flinch and said what anomalies she had seen since she started working for the company.

Ashely and Tanaga just listened until Celia finished revealing everything.

"Thank you very much for letting us know about this. Don't worry before we leave to return to Japan, Sir Jones will fix everything. So we are here to make things better for everyone.

Now I want to know is what kind of works do you do and how do you do it every day?" Ashley asks seriously and Celia could tell she's truly interested in knowing ...
