Chapter 107: Planet Polis
After returning to the Capital Planet, Xing Mo went to go deal with the first batch of element liquids while Lin Luo allocated the jade that had just been cut by the Stone Cutting Department to the energy engineers of the Energy Department for the extraction of element liquids.
There were twelve energy engineers under his command, including five junior energy engineers and seven mid-rank energy engineers.
Because of the proper screening beforehand, the cut jades were able to be divided into the three grades of medium, good, and high quality jade. Lin Luo gave the medium grade jadeite to the junior energy engineers. Although their rank was relatively low, their abilities were still pretty good, so they could generally ensure that the purity of the extracted element liquid was about 25%.
The good quality jade would be handed over to the mid-rank energy engineers, who were able to ensure that the element liquid extracted was about 50% purity. Of course when it came to the jade of the highest quality, Lin Luo would handle it personally. Except for Xing Mo and Yin Ye, no one else knew that the purity of the element liquid he could extract could reach an astonishing 80%.
In fact, as long as he was willing, he could have easily obtained the level certification of a senior energy engineer. He knew if he did that though, there would definitely be many people who will come to him seeking his help with extracting element liquids, which would take away from the time he had available to bet on rocks. Compared to repeating a single energy liquid extraction process, he prefers the freshness and excitement that gambling on rocks can bring him.
It’s just that the element liquid extracted by Lin Luo wasn’t used for trading, but was specifically used to help Xing Mo and Yin Ye upgrade. After all, Xing Mo alone needed three types of element liquids. The remaining wood and earth elemental liquids were used as the finale for Yin Ye’s auction house.
After the first batch of element liquids were successfully traded to Andre, Xing Mo used the money obtained to trade for a batch of energy converters with Andre. Those jade had all turned into transparent energy crystals after the elemental energy had been extracted out of them, and were being kept in the warehouse. Once the energy converter arrived, it would be used to convert them into energy liquid, which would bring a lot of extra income to the company.
Lin Luo made sure to tell Xing Mo and Yin Ye about going to the Fifth Star Territory to participate in the Gambling Stone Rally. The company had the support of Kulta’s jadeite veins and could guarantee the supply of raw materials stably, so it didn’t necessarily need extra jadeite bought in. That said, for energy companies the more jadeite they had on hand to work with at any given time, the better. Not to mention that with Lin Luo going as their stone gambler, they didn’t need to worry about losing money like other companies.
A few days later, Lin Luo and Xing Mo went traveling to Polis, the main planet of the Fifth Star Territory. He Kun, Xu Jian, and Zhao XiaoLei also went with them along with a few others who also wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to earn some money and ranking points.
The Fifth Star Territory was actually a very barren star field. Due to the extremely harsh climates, there were almost no habitable planets in the star field. Therefore, this star field had been mostly ignored by the Empire for many years.
It wasn’t until a few hundred years ago that the Empire sent an expedition team to the Fifth Star Territory to try its luck because of lack of energy. After accidentally discovering an energy mine, the empire began to develop the territory.
Although an artificial atmosphere had been installed, the harsh environment of Polis itself was still difficult for people to adapt to. Polis was basically a desert planet with sand and dust everywhere, and the temperature difference between day and night was also very large. It was, however, a place that was rich in old pit jadeite mines.
That it was an ‘old pit’ type meant that the age of the formation of the jadeite veins was relatively old. The old pit type gambling stones would generally have fine crystal structure, good sanding on the skin, a uniform fog layer, and bright colors.
Perhaps it was because of the high amount of wind and sand on Polis along with the large temperature difference, but the rough, loose, and poorly transparent structures and developments in the original stones were all eroded and decomposed away. What had been retained was the high-quality stone with fine texture, high transparency and high hardness that made up the ore that Polis currently had.
The availability rate of Polis’s old pit jadeite is only as high as 50%. Although the output is low, it still attracts many people.
In addition, there were two resource planets in the Fifth Star Region that produce jadeite from newer veins. Although the quality wasn’t as good as the old pit type, they were much more popular due to the large output of the mines.
With the old pit type and the new pit type mines as gimmicks, many people had come to participate in the gambling gatherings held by the Fifth Star Territory in recent years.
As soon as Lin Luo and the others got off the shuttle, they were immediately hit full on by a blast of wind laden with sand, which sorely stung the skin on their faces and only went to show the severity of the climate on the planet.
Although they had been mentally prepared before they came, they still hadn’t expected the winds and sand to be so intense! Braving the wind and sand, they finally got out of the star harbor and were ready to take a suspended car.
