Many businessmen outside the star harbor were selling small energy shields. The type of energy shield they sold was designed in the form of a belt. As long as it was worn around the waist, it would form an oval energy shield around the user that would cover the person from head to toe and protect them from the wind and sand.
It was indeed easy to use, but the price was relatively expensive. A small energy shield was selling for 100,000 credits, so not many people were buying them.
Lin Luo and the others were all people who made enough money, though. When they considered that the Gambling Stone Rally was set to last for a week and that they might have the opportunity to come back to Polis in the future, they were very happy to each buy a small energy shield.
The suspended cars parked at the gate of the star harbor were all sent by the organizer to pick up guests who were preparing to participate in the Gambling Stone Rally.
After Lin Luo and the others got into the cars, they showed their virtual invitation letter and the address of the hotel they had booked, and the driver immediately drove them along.
There was really no scenery along the road other than the yellow sand, sand dunes and pits everywhere. There was no green at all, which was extremely bleak.
Fortunately, the place where the rally was held was not so deserted. It was a small town separated by high walls. Although there was still sand, it wasn’t as barren as the view outside.
The suspension car drove into the small town, made a few turns left and right, and finally came to the door of the hotel they had booked.
The hotel Lin Luo booked was the nicest one available, with a beautiful environment and good service. Lin Luo and the others booked two suites. He and Xing Mo were set to live in a small one, while He Kun, Xu Jian and Zhao XiaoLei would live in a large one.
After agreeing on a meeting time for the next day, everyone went back to their rooms to rest.
Coincidentally, the people next door to Lin Luo and the others turned out to be the brothers Han XinYuan and Han XinYu.
“Mr. Lin and Mr. Xing, hello.” Han XinYuan took the initiative to greet the group.
“Hello! What a coincidence to meet you. Are you also here to attend the rally?”
“Yes, we wanted to earn some points.” As a stone gambling family, the Han family naturally wasn’t short of money. In addition to bringing his younger brother to see the planet, Han XinYuan intended to earn some rank points along the way.
“That’s just right. That’s what I thought, too. If you’re free tomorrow, why don’t we go to the rally together?” Lin Luo offered the invitation.
Although they hadn’t seen each other since the Vermi Open Auction, back when Lin Luo and Xing Mo disappeared both Han XinYuan and Han XinYu sent him concerned messages. Additionally, when the treason incident happened, Han XinYuan went on to express his belief and trust in Lin Luo. As such Lin Luo still had a good impression of the two brothers and was willing to make friends with them.
“Okay.” Han XinYuan promised very readily. He brought his younger brother out this time to let him see and learn more. With such a powerful stone gambler like Lin Luo, he could potentially learn a lot.
The two parties chatted for a few more words, before they each went back to their rooms to rest.
The furnishings of the hotel rooms were cozy and comfortable, which was worthy of the high price.
When they had gotten off the shuttle ship before, they had been sandblasted by the intense winds, so their bodies were very dirty. As a result they each made sure to thoroughly shower off the grime before they put on clean clothes and lay down to rest.
A good night’s sleep.
The next day, Lin Luo and Xing Mo got up early and went to the restaurant downstairs to have breakfast. Although the hotel provided a variety of nutrient solutions Lin Luo, who was accustomed to eating natural foods, didn’t want to drink nutrient solutions very much.
Because the resources of Polis were relatively scarce, the breakfast was relatively simple. The hotel’s breakfast had only seven or eight kinds of dishes, among which grilled meat and vegetables were the main options, and there was also a fruit that was only found in the local desert. Thankfully Lin Luo wasn’t actually that picky. So long as it wasn’t a nutrient solution, he could accept it.
After the two had eaten enough, they went to the hall and met up with He Kun and the two brothers of the Han family.
The stone gambling area was in this small town, so they were able to just walk directly there. With the help of the small energy shields, they didn’t even need to worry about the wind blowing sand into their eyes and could go to the Gambling Stone Rally with peace of mind.
The stone gambling area was very simple and crude. All the vendors were set up as stalls, and all the materials were directly placed on the ground, with the guests being welcomed to browse and chose at their leisure.
Polis was worthy of being a planet rich in old pit jadeite. Lin Luo saw two pieces of old pits that were placed separately at the first booth. Each had a sticker on it, which clearly displayed the price.
These two pieces of jadeite were made of white salt sand skin. Although they weren’t big, they looked very good, especially the sand that made up the matrix which looked very delicate. It seemed that the gambling ability was unlikely to be low, but the prices were set accordingly high.
The smaller one on the left was asking for 6 million and the bigger one on the right was asking for 8 million, which was really not cheap.
Even so, anyone passing by would stop to take a look.
Lin Luo did the same. He squatted down to take a closer look at the two pieces of jadeite, then shook his head slightly as if he wasn’t very optimistic about the two pieces of old pit material.
