“Ladies and gentlemen, I am very proud.”
Kalin walks to the center of the platform and begins her speech. The first phrase she utters reaches the crowd, which is still in complete silence.
“We are in the midst of many hardships. We are in a remote region full of monsters, could not grow anything due to the magic elements in the soil, faced a terrible disease, and were attacked from the sky by monsters.”
Kalin slowly looks at the crowd from one end to the other. Everyone’s eyes, including mine, are focused on her.
“I could not have overcome any of these challenges on my own. Thankfully I have the best subordinates, and reliable neighbors. It is through this cooperation that we continue to overcome them! None of us are alone.”
Kalin stops speaking.
“Lady Kalin!”
“Hurray!”
“Hurray for the Admiral dominion!”
People cheer, but stop as Kalin raises her hand.
“It all started with a few tents, but after many hardships, we have arrived at this point. Look around you.”
Kalin slowly and widely waves her arm, and everyone’s eyes follow it. As everyone looks around, Kalin smiles.
“We are finally here. Look. Look at the result of your devotion and cooperation, and look at your comrades standing by your side. I am very proud. Proud of all of you.”
Ahri quietly walks forward and stops near Kalin, with a parchment in hand.
“I will now name the town I have built with you. With my power as lord, I name this town Habbafulton.”
Kalin announces the name, and Ahri opens the parchment before holding it high, showing everyone the town’s name written on it.
“Habbafulton.”
“Habbafulton…”
Many people in the crowd repeat the name, as if making themselves familiar with it.
“Now let us plant a kagero tree, as per tradition, and pray for the glory of Habbafulton.”
Kalin says while pointing right at the middle of the crowd.
Roa gets off the stage and walks forward, with kagero seeds in hand.
A path is opened for her as people move to the side, and Roa walks to her Kalin pointed.
There is a brick enclosure right in the middle of the square, and inside it is dirt that I previously extracted magic elements from.
Roa places the seeds there, and carefully covers them with dirt.
But then something happens. There is a high-pitched cry.
“Kyururururu!”
“A white dragon?”
“Master Rust’s?”
“That’s Seilook.”
“I’ve heard of that dragon. It’s beautiful!”
Noise fills the crowd
Seilook? Why? This wasn’t in the ceremony’s program!
Roa steps back, like she’s being crowded out. She looks back at me, but all I can do is gesture an apology.
I don’t really know how to deal with this, but the situation is progressing rapidly.
Seilook raises its head and lets out another high-pitched cry.
A magic circle with a strange pattern appears before it.
“Look at that! Is that a primordial magic circle!? Even I have never seen this one!”
Yells Halhammer.
The magic circle begins to spin while being sucked into the kagero seeds.
The kagero seeds then begin to shine and develop rapidly into a tree.
Its roots crack the ground, and its trunk is getting thicker right before our eyes.
Leaves start growing, in what’s now a kagero tree. There are even kagero fruits beginning to grow in the branches.
There is a murmur in the crowd. Some call it a miracle, some call it the white dragon’s blessing. But those that know the old legend of the white dragon say it’s a promise of glory to Habbafulton.
In any case, cheers fill the square.
