“…And so, the first person in which divine protection was manifested in, was a priestess who became a believer of the goddess Araysla, who would later be known as Saint Albert. It is said that she could temporarily cast the goddess into her body, and transmit the word of the goddess and use her power. It is written here that it was a supreme experience, almost as though she was acting the part of our goddess.”
Says Kahelone while looking up at me and pointing to that part in the book, but I don’t notice her eyes because I’m looking at what she’s showing me.
“Are people like you who can use the powers of divine protection called Actors because…”
“Yes. It is said that it comes from this description, ‘acting the part’. “
“I see. Taula and Reese’s oracle power is said to be transmitting the word of god. But Taula, at the very least, didn’t become one with the goddess or anything, right?”
“Yes. All Actors that followed Saint Albert manifested only a portion of the divine protection Saint Albert had. Although the reason isn’t yet clear…”
I’m very interested in what Kahelone is saying. Taula’s power has helped me twice, so I have no doubt that it’s real.
But at the same time, one phrase catches my attention.
Saint Albert cast Araysla onto her body and used the power of the goddess? Saint Albert and Araysla’s relationship sounds similar to Ghan and Zwei somehow.
It’s just a feeling that I can’t actually confirm. And sadly, my hunches aren’t nearly on the same level as Kalin’s in terms of accuracy.
“And so, I have two powers of the twelve that are said to have composed Saint Albert’s divine protection.”
Kahelone continues even as I’m thinking.
“I think you already know one of them, but the other is the divine power of 『Perception』. And with the power of 『Perception』, I sometimes sense a probing presence that feels ill will towards the church of Araysla in the capital.”
“And you come to this room to talk when something happens. A probing presence… Could it be Zwei…”
“Is it called Zwei? The being you think is responsible for this series of events?”
Asks Kahelone to confirm.
The more I hear about these events she is talking about, the more I start to feel that Zwei is a being that the church of Araysla can’t ignore.
It’s basically listening in on them, meddling with corpses in this church… And that warning too. I’m sure Zwei will turn its eyes this way again. It’s clear that we can’t just let it be.
I start telling Kahelone what I know about Zwei.
