Chapter 36 - He wasn’t sure whether his deskmate was very mature or super immature. (3)

Qiu Qingkong was baffled, “And what did that mean?”

“How do I say it?” Chu Qianli rubbed her chin. “To put it simply, the stars can anticipate your anticipation?

“Rather, ‘you’ referred to mankind as a whole.”

Qiu Qingkong was stunned and she said with admiration, “I don’t really understand but they sound very profound. I shall immediately add them to the description of our luxury package. This is what we will be using for our next round of propaganda!”

Chu Qianli was dumbfounded. “So that’s what one from the materialistic world will think when they hear that.”

She remembered that that was not what her grandfather’s reaction was when they had that discussion before. No wonder neither one of them were good at bringing in money.

The city-dwellers were surely much better at making money than the villagers.

Even though Chu Qianli knew nothing about propaganda or operations but Qiu Qingkong’s strategy was proven useful in no time. They needed Qiu Qingkong to reel the customers in at the beginning but it didn’t take long for the words to spread and the old customers to bring in new ones and their number of return customers had exploded.

Both Qiu Qingkong and Tan Muxing had to take on several different roles. The former being in charge of propaganda, operations, accumulating a customer base and the latter, design, finance, and organizing the feedbacks. Chu Qianli knew nothing beyond divination. Her side job was being the mascot and putting on the show (?).

Chu Qianli had earned herself a little bit of fame in just one week. Even some of the teachers had heard of her.

During class, the teacher was monitoring the students working on their problem sets. She spotted Chu Qianli curling up and napping when she patrolled the back of the classroom. She walked up and reminded her, “Alright. Time to wake up and work on your problem sets.”

Tan Muxing looked at the female teacher, not knowing what to do. He hesitated on whether he should wake Chu Qianli.

The female teacher looked at the messy desk and started helping her tidy it up. She collected the playing cards and set them aside as she tried to persuade Chu Qianli, “Alright, alright. Hurry up and work on your problem set. You can sleep when you get home.”

As there were many children from well-off families in the class, it was always difficult for the teachers to manage them. It wasn’t too bad when the children were ambitious. There were a lot that they could do when the students just wanted to cruise.

Chu Qianli opened her eyes groggily and shook her head to clear it up. Looking at the playing cards that the teacher had set aside casually, she said out of the blue, “Teacher, don’t go drinking tonight. You will lose your opportunity in romance.”

“Eh? How did you know I am going to……” The female teacher looked around, alarmed. Noticing that all the others were working on their problem sets quietly, she quickly said in a low voice. “But I already had plans with my friends.”

“They are going to blow you off. Don’t go drinking on your own,” said Chu Qianli.

The female teacher exclaimed, “What? Blowing me off again?”

Not too far away, He Shichen, with his head lowered and looking at the problem set, placed his hand over his mouth and cleared his throat a couple of times in an effort to put this divination session that started out of nowhere to an end.

The female teacher quickly recollected herself when she heard the noise. She stopped engaging with Chu Qianli immediately and, knocking on her desk, said, “Alright, I won’t go drinking. Hurry up and work on your problem sets.”

Chu Qianli tsked. She thought her teacher had truly forgot about it.

She glanced over to her side.

Tan Muxing could read her looks very well and quietly showed her his answer.

Chu Qianli happily started copying.

Tan Muxing’s brows twitched a little and he asked her in a low voice, “Why do you insist on copying assignments when you just sleep through the classes?”

Tan Muxing didn’t understand Chu Qianli’s mentality. He couldn’t say that she was a good student. She slept and ate through her classes. But she wasn’t exactly a bad student either. She would complete her assignments sloppily no matter how busy she was.

Chu Qianli said as she scribbled, “Not being able to complete them is a matter of ability. Not copying them is a matter of attitude. I can be responsible for my own life but I don’t want to give the teachers a hard time, so I must come up with something.”

A teacher who wasn’t able to collect the assignment would be a job performance issue. That would bring about many hassles in the future. As an astrologist, the best solution here was to muddle through it.

Her words made Tan Muxing numb. He had no idea whether to say that she was mature or very immature?

Translator’s rambling:

This update was fueled by:

Astrif, JJ Rasos Chua, Rohi, Dawn, Ali, Galiolo, and Uwu.

As usual, Uwu was the last straw that broke this TL’s back……

This is a crowd-sourced project. All those who wish to see more updates says “Aye!”

For some reason, the author always said that MC “tossed” the dice… In my mind, “toss” is an upward, parabola action, whereas rolling dice should be more a downward & forward motion… Neeways, I use “rolled” in my translation. =D

Galileo said it is strange not to have a list of advanced chapters on the bottom so, if you follow the link to the TOC and scroll to the bottom, I included the gist of the next few raw chapters. ^__^
